3 CHAIRMAN S INTRODUCTION Dear North Enfield, Welcome to the 2015 season. My fingers are crossed for some sunshine, as well as some decent cricket. If you are reading this fixture card as a visitor to our club, you are very welcome and I hope you enjoy your day with us. I think it is important to look back on the year that was, to recognise progress which ensures continued successes on and off the field: Second XI gaining promotion from Division 7. Back to back promotions! Junior section going from strength to strength - 3 junior teams playing regular competitive cricket. All teams won at least one match, which was brilliant! A junior team visited Lord s for the England vs Sri Lanka ODI, and played on the pitch! Retained full Clubmark Status = a real statement! Confirmed acceptance of a 10k bid from the Big Lottery Fund for pavilion improvements Building closer links with St John s School + other various grassroots clubs in the area Meeting and working with Nick de Bois, MP The best attended Dinnerand Dance for many years Please follow progress at the club via my View from the Chair mails, our website and Twitter/Facebook accounts, and new for this season a WhatsApp group. I must also place some words of thanks to all those local businesses and individuals who sponsor the club fixture card very much appreciated. Please support our sponsors! It is an honour to be Chairman of our great club; I will do all I can to ensure success for us on and off the pitch. I just ask that all members do their bit and take some responsibility and give a helping hand to me and all members of the management committee. 22 NORTH ENFIELD JUNIORS VISIT THE HOME OF CRICKET Due to the hard work that North Enfield Cricket Club (NECC) have invested in order to attract juniors into playing Cricket over the last few years and after attaining Clubmark status, the ECB (via the clubs affiliation with Middlesex) invited NECC to send a team of 8 juniors to play an exhibition game at Lord's on Saturday 31 st May 2014, during the lunch break of England v Sri Lanka One Day International match and also tickets to watch the match. The children who all attend the Wednesday evening coaching sessions held at the club s picturesque home ground - Strayfield Road - represent the U11 s age group and were chosen to represent NECC as they have been at the club since its Junior Coaching Programme began. Names were drawn at random and the lucky ones were: Sam Macmurdie, Liam Hannon, Nathaniel Bowen, Adam Hutchinson, Rose Kelly, Luke Cushieri, Finbar Major and Freddie Pearson. When asked what they thought, they said it was Awesome, Inspiring and an Amazing experience. I got a huge round of applause from the stand when I took my wicket, it was unbelievable, said Adam. The Team had a magical day playing on the outfield in front of 28,000 people at the Home of Cricket. I m sure they will treasure the memory for the rest of their lives. With almost 600 runs scored in the day, it was an exciting and very close game, with England just coming up short! 26 NORTH ENFIELD CRICKET CLUB CONSTITUTION 1. The name of the Club is NORTH ENFIELD CRICKET CLUB, hereafter referred to as the Club. 2. The objects of the Club are to provide facilities for and promote participation of the whole community in the sport of cricket. 3. The Club is affiliated to the England and Wales Cricket Board through the Middlesex Cricket Board and the Hertfordshire Cricket Board. 4. The Club and its members shall ensure that members, playing and non-playing, abide by the ECB Code of Conduct which incorporates the Spirit of Cricket and by the Laws of Cricket. 5. The Club shall adopt and implement the ECB Club Inclusion and Diversity Policy and any future versions of this policy. 6. That personnel of the Club shall consist of Cricket Members, Social Members, Life Members and Honorary Members. 7. That it aims to further the interests of Club Cricket (in accordance with the C.C.C. rules) and to organise various social and sporting activities for the benefit and entertainment of its Members. 8. A Committee shall be formed to manage the Club, the constitution of which will be Club Chairman, General Secretary and Treasurer together with other officers elected by the Members at the A.G.M. (five Members of this committee to form a quorum). The Committee will meet at least six times each year, and minutes of the meeting will be posted on the Club notice board. No Member with less than 12 months membership shall be eligible to serve on this committee. 9. Two Auditors will be appointed at the A.G.M. for the forthcoming year. 10. The Club Officers, together with Members of the Management Committee shall retire annually, but shall be eligible for re-election. 11. The President will be nominated for election by the Management Committee. 12. An Annual General Meeting will be held when the Audited Balance Sheet shall be presented for inspection by the Club for the previous financial period. The Financial Year of the Club shall end on the 31 December each year. 25% of the Members will form a quorum. 13. Books and Accounts shall be kept by the Treasurer. These Accounts to be duly audited by the Club Auditors.

27 14. The Income and Property of the Club shall be applied solely towards promoting the Club s objects as set forth in these rules and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred, directly or indirectly, to the Members of the Club. 15. Membership of the Club shall be open to all persons irrespective of ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or beliefs; or of age, sex or disability except as a necessary consequence of the requirements of cricket as a particular sport. There is no proposer and seconder process for membership of the Club. There will be three classes of subscription: Cricket Members, Junior Cricket Members and Social Members. All subscriptions will be due on 1 January each year and will expire on 31 December on the same year. The rate of subscription for each class of membership will be decided at the A.G.M. prior to 1 April. The Club may have different classes of membership and subscription on a non discriminatory and fair basis. The Club will have an equitable pricing policy and will keep subscriptions at levels that will not pose a significant obstacle to people participating. Subsidiary sections will arrange their own annual subscription subject to the approval of the Management Committee. 16. Power to vote is given to the following: Cricket Members on all subjects* All Social Members on social matters only *Junior Cricket Members are not permitted to vote on issues relating to the bar/licensing. 17. Any 20% of the Members who wish to call a general meeting have the power to do so. They should notify the General Secretary that they desire this meeting and he/she will arrange it as soon as possible. 18. Committee Members who fail to attend three consecutive meetings without good cause are liable to suspension by the Management Committee. 19. All Committee Members must be notified at least seven days prior to any Management Committee Meeting being arranged. 20. An account shall be operated with the HSBC, in the name of NORTH ENFIELD CRICKET CLUB. The Chairman, Treasurer and General Secretary and others subject to Management Committee approval, are authorised to sign cheques on behalf of the Club. 21. Christmas Day excluded, the bar in the pavilion will be open at the discretion of the Management Committee during normal licensing hours.

28 22. Members may introduce and entertain guests at the Club and there shall be kept on the premises a visitors book in which both the Member and guests shall sign. The member shall be responsible for his/her guests strictly observing the Club Constitution. 23. The Club Constitution can only be altered at a General Meeting of Club Members. Members must be notified of proposed alterations, 14 days prior to the meeting. 24. The Management Committee may refuse membership or expel from membership only for good and sufficient cause, such as conduct or character likely to bring the Club or sport into disrepute. Appeal against such a decision may be made to the Club s members and decided by a majority vote. Any complaints regarding the behaviour of members, guests or volunteers should be lodged in writing with the Secretary. Any person that is the subject of a written complaint or appeal shall be notified of the procedures to be followed by the relevant committee in reasonable time to prepare for any hearing. 25. The Club has a code of conduct/practice for: all club officials, coaches and volunteers parents/carers and other supporter junior members (children and young people) members and guests 26. The Club complies with the Child Protection Act and operates a safeguarding policy. 27. The Club shall adopt and implement the ECB Safe Hands Cricket s Policy for Safeguarding Children and any future versions of the policy. 28. The Committee shall appoint a Club Welfare Officer to ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation and the ECB Safe Hands policy. The Club Welfare Office shall report to relevant Committee meetings and the reports, together with any action taken, must be minuted. 29. In the event of the dissolution of the Club, any assets remaining after the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall not be paid to or distributed among the members of the Club, but shall be given or transferred to one or more of the following approved sporting or charitable bodies: A registered charitable organisation(s) Another Club which is a registered CASC The sport s national governing body for use by them for related community sports 30. The Club colours will be Green and Gold.
