Subject: Step Sequence RULES Short Program: Step sequence should be executed together or close together and may include small jump-like movements with not more than half a revolution. Short stops in accordance with the music are permitted. Credit will be given to a pair which changes places and holds or uses difficult skating moves together during a step sequence. A variety and/or complexity of turns and steps must be balanced in their distribution throughout the sequence. The workload between both partners must be even to be taken into account for a possible higher Level. Free Skating: Should be executed together or close together and may include small jump-like movements with not more than half a revolution. Step sequence must fully utilize the ice surface. Credit will be given to a pair which changes places and holds or uses difficult skating moves together during a step sequence. A variety and/or complexity of turns and steps must be distributed throughout the sequence. The workload between both partners must be even to be taken into account for a possible higher Level. 4 Subject: Step Sequence CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Definition of steps and turns (turns with change of foot are considered as steps) Definition of Turns and Steps Types of Turns: three turns, twizzles, brackets, loops, counters, rockers. Types of Steps: toe steps, chasses, mohawks, choctaws. change of edge, cross rolls. Must be executed on one foot. Must be executed on one foot whenever possible. Simple variety Variety Must include at least 6 turns and 4 steps, none of the types can be counted more than twice. Must include at least 8 turns and 4 steps, none of the types can be counted more than twice. Mandatory for Level 2. Mandatory for Level 3. Complex Not applicable for Pair Skating Balance Minimum requirements for a pattern Rotations in either direction Turns and steps must be balanced in their distribution throughout the sequence. The workload between both partners must be even. A Step Sequence will only receive a Level if at least 50% of the sequence is performed. A skater rotates continuously in one direction for at least 1/3 of the sequence and then continuously for at least 1/3 of the sequence in the opposite direction or Over the length of the step sequence the skater is performing turns for at least 1/3 of the sequence in total (not continuous) in one rotational direction and at least 1/3 of the sequence in total (not continuous) in the opposite direction. Full body rotation means one complete rotation. The skater should not just turn half a rev. back and forth. 5 Subject: Step Sequence CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Moderate use of upper body movement Full use of upper body movement The upper body refers to arms, head and torso. Modest means the visible use of two of the three parts of the upper body. Full means the visible use of all three parts of the upper body. 6 Subject: Step Sequence Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level No simple variety Skaters does not perform a simple variety in steps and turns throughout the sequence Simple variety is mandatory for any higher Level Level 1 Only simple variety Skater performs only simple variety in steps and turns throughout the sequence. With only simple variety the Level can not be more than 2. Level not higher than.2. No balance No balanced workload Jump with more than half a revolution Turns and steps are not balanced throughout the sequence. The workload between the partners is not even Couple performs a jump with more than half a revolution. Balance is mandatory for any higher Level Level 1 Balanced workload is mandatory Level 1 If the performed jump is a listed jump, call the element; if the jump is a not-listed jump, ignore the jump, but in SP reflect in GOE). Jumped turns Turns are jumped. A jumped turn is not considered as a turn. File name: 03 P_Step Sequence Mistakes.doc Page 1 of 1 P Step Sequence - Mistakes

Subject: Spiral Sequence RULES Short Program: & Free Skating: A Spiral is a position with one blade on the ice and the free leg (including knee and foot) higher than the hip level. Spiral positions are classified according to the skating leg (right, left), edge (outside, inside), direction (forward, backward) and position of the free leg (backward, forward, sideways). Pattern of the Spiral Sequence can be any combination of curves (on edges - spiral positions on a straight line are ignored and not counted in the number of positions). Only the first 3 attempted positions are to be considered for Level features. If all these positions are executed with assistance of the hand/arm or in the Short Program there is no change of foot by both partners (with a Spiral pos. before and a Spiral pos. after the change 3 sec. long), Level cannot be more than 1 (but GOE is not restricted). Minimum of 3 seconds in each position. Unsupported spiral position with the free leg sideways or forward is no longer a Level feature by itself, it can be included in the number of executed positions, but considered a Level feature only when it is a difficult variation of position (affects the core body and balance). File name: 04 P_Spiral Sequence Rules.doc Page 1 of 1 P Spiral Sequence - Rules

Subject: Spiral Sequence CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Pattern Definition Free leg Bold curve Change of direction Change of position or direction/edge Pattern of the Spiral Sequence can be any combination of curves (on edges - spiral position on a straight line is counted as one of the first 3 first attempted positions, but no Level features can be given for this position). Only the first 3 attempted positions are to be considered for Level features. A Spiral is a position with one blade on the ice and the free leg (including knee and foot) higher than the hip level. Spiral positions are classified according to the skating leg (right, left), edge (outside, inside), direction (forward, backward) and position of the free leg (backward, forward, sideways). Free leg means the whole leg. The rule says, free leg higher than hip level, which means that all parts of the leg (including knee and foot) need to be higher than hip level. Anything, which is a half curve, no matter which shape and no matter if they are equal in size. The skating direction in a spiral sequence means forward and backward. The first change of direction will count (the first change from forward to backward or vice-versa). A change of free leg position and a change of edge must be done separately. A change of direction and a change of edge must be done separately. If this requirement is not fulfilled, no feature will be given, neither for the change of edge nor for the change of free leg position/direction of skating. File name: 05 P_Spiral Sequence Clarifications.doc Page 1 of 4 P Spiral Sequence - Clarifications

Subject: Spiral Sequence CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Duration of position All features in a Spiral Sequence must be performed for a minimum of 3 seconds to achieve the appropriate Level. If this minimum hold is not fulfilled, the position will not count for Level features but it counts in the number of positions attempts. Biellmann position The skaters free leg is pulled from behind to a position higher than and towards the top of the head, close to the skating axis of the skater. Change of position and Biellmann position A change of a Spiral (free leg back) into a Biellmann or vice versa is not a change of position, according to definition the position stays the same (same direction of skating, same edge, same position of the free leg backwards). Change of edge A spiral position must be maintained at least 3 sec. hold before the change of edge and kept at least 3 sec. after the change of edge with the distance used for the change not longer than 1 meter. If the hold before and after the change of edge is not fulfilled or the distance for the change is too long, the change of edge will not count as a feature. Unsupported Unsupported position means no help with a hand/arm hold Unsupported spiral position with free leg sideways or forward is considered a Level Feature only when it is a difficult variation of position (the skater twist or seriously moves the body core). Assistance of partner on change of edge If the couple performs the change of edge separately (not at the same time) there may not be any assistance or support from the other partner to aid in the change of edge. File name: 05 P_Spiral Sequence Clarifications.doc Page 2 of 4 P Spiral Sequence - Clarifications

Subject: Spiral Sequence CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Split position A split position can be performed either sideways, forward or backwards; one arm hold is possible. The split position must be at least 170. This feature will be counting, when both partners are in a split position or when one partner only is in a split position and the second partner at that time is in a spiral/spreadeagle/shoot-the-duck or similar position. A split position counts only once for a feature, even if performed in two or more positions. However if a total split is performed more than once, a split position can be considered also as a difficult variation (if there are two difficult variations, these must be on different feet by both partners in order to be counted as Level features). One partner only in a Spiral position One of the first 3 spiral positions valid for Level features can be substituted with a position in which only one partner is in a difficult variation of Spiral position (Bielmann, doughnut etc.), but partners are in difficult positions toward each other, e.g. the other partner is in a spread-eagle/shoot-the-duck or similar position. Among these positions there is Free leg in a total split position only by one partner, one or both arms hold possible, which is counted when the second partner at that time is in a spiral/spread-eagle/shoot-the-duck or similar position. Extended spiral position Both partners must be in this position simultaneously without changes in position/variation for 6 sec. Free leg drops A clear drop of the free leg below the defined position and returning then to the defined position will result in an additional attempted position. A spiral position before the leg drops and another spiral position after the leg is back in a spiral position. File name: 05 P_Spiral Sequence Clarifications.doc Page 3 of 4 P Spiral Sequence - Clarifications

Subject: Spiral Sequence CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Simple Variation A spiral position with limited leg or arm movement, e.g. bending of free leg, bending of skating leg, changes in arm positions, turning (all of these not affecting main body core position and independent from skating edge or direction). A simple variation does not increase the Level. Difficult variation This is a variation that affects the main body core and balance, e.g. twisting the upper body, bending or pulling the upper body towards the skating leg, moving free leg from behind to the side of the body while maintaining free leg height, obtaining the Biellmann position. Only these variations can increase the Level. Difficult variation by both partners must not necessary be executed by both partners at the same time, the meaning is that each partner should have this variation. Supported spiral position definition Hand or any part of the arm supporting the free leg position Supported position could be simple or difficult according to definition. Unsupported spiral position definition Free leg being held in position only by strength of free leg Unsupported position could be simple or difficult according to definition. File name: 05 P_Spiral Sequence Clarifications.doc Page 4 of 4 P Spiral Sequence - Clarifications

Subject: Spiral Sequence Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level Less than three (3) second holds A spiral sequence in which all executed spiral positions are held with less than 3 sec. Not according to requirements. no Level Less than two (2) positions If no partner has position(s) of 3 seconds hold or more, there is no Level given. If only one partner has position(s) of 3 seconds hold or more, there is no Level given. If both partners attain only one position, there is no Level given. If both partners attain only one position of 3 seconds hold or more, Level 1 is given (but not higher). If one partner has two position(s) of 3 seconds hold or more and the other partner attains only one position of at least 3 sec. hold only Level 1 is given (but not higher). Not according to requirements. Not according to requirements. Not according to requirements no Level no Level no Level Level 1 Level 1 Change of edge too long The length is more than 1 meter. No credit will be given for the change of edge feature. Change of edge No clear edge after the change of edge If the skater does not clearly change from one edge to the other and obtains only a flat then no credit will be given for the change of edge feature. no feature for the change of edge no feature for the change of edge Split position Free leg not in split position (min. 170 ). no Level feature Free leg height Any part of the free leg (knee and foot) lower than hip level Might break a spiral position into 2 positions: before and after the leg drops (only the first 3 positions count). no credit for a position if it s duration is less than 3 sec. 14 Subject: Spin in one position without change of foot RULES Short Program Free Skating: not applicable The spins must have a required minimum number of 6 revolutions, the lack of which must be reflected by Judges in their marking, however a spin with less than three rotations is considered as a skating movement and not a spin. These minimum numbers of required revolutions must be counted from the entry of the spin until its exit. The minimum number of revolutions required in a position is two (2). In case this requirement is not fulfilled, the position is not counted. If the skater falls when entering a spin, a spin or a spinning movement is allowed immediately after this fall (for filling time purpose) with this spin/movement not being counted as an element. File name: 07 P_Spin in one position without change of foot Rules.doc Page 1 of 1 P Spin in one position without change of foot - Rules

Subject: Spin in one position without change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Backward entry A backward entry includes (but not limited to) a forward-inside three turn, in a spin In order to be counted as a Level feature backward entrance requires at least 2 rev. on a backward outside edge Backward entry refers to: skaters who spin counter clockwise would enter and begin spinning on the right foot, skaters who spin clockwise would enter and begin spinning on the left foot. Camel position First, the skater performs the camel position, and then grip of the free leg staying with the upper body flat and the free leg is higher than the hip (no Biellmann or similar position). It is considered a difficult variation of the camel position Windmill Wind mill (illusion) execution is not considered a difficult variation and will not receive a feature. no Toe Arabian During the spin a skater performs a Toe Arabian (like a Butterfly) and continues to spin on the same foot. It is a difficult variation and will receive a feature Spinning on both edges Spinning on both edges in order to be counted as a feature for a Level requires at least 2 full rev. on one edge followed by at least 2 full rev. on another edge in the same basic position (sit, camel, upright). A change of edge in an intermediate position does nt count as a feature. The blade must be moving backward or forward on the inside or outside edge and not on the flat. Definition of Spin Variations Related to both partners. Two difficult variations Both these variations will be counted as Level features if they both are in the basic position, at least 2 revolutions duration and different from each other. File name: 08 P_Spin in one position without change of foot Clarifications.doc Page 1 of 3 P Spin in one position without change of foot - Clarifications

Subject: Spin in one position without change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Difficult variation A difficult variation is a movement of a body part, leg, arm, hand or head, which requires more physical strength or flexibility and that, has an affect on the balance of the main body core. Only these variations can increase the level. Sit spin (broken leg) changing the weight distribution by bending the leg to the side or behind the main body core; Camel spin with the upper body turned upwards approx. 180% (upside down position); Camel spin body arched where head and free foot are almost touching (doughnut spin); Upright spin where from the hips to the skating foot it is straight and the upper body is bent down towards to ice; Biellmann spin is considered a difficult variation of an upright spin going from a camel spin to a Biellmann spin is considered as change of position. Going from an upright spin into a Biellmann spin is NOT a change of position likewise going from a layback spin to a Biellmann spin is NOT a change of position. For camel, sit and layback positions once the position has been established a clear increasing of the speed will be considered a difficult variation (Rational: It is necessary to draw body parts (adjust position) toward the main body core in order to increase speed. This is more physically difficult and changes the balance point on the spinning blade). Intermediate positions Iintermediate positions are allowed, counted in the total number of revolutions required by the Rules, but cannot be considered as difficult variations in accordance with the definition of such positions. No File name: 08 P_Spin in one position without change of foot Clarifications.doc Page 2 of 3 P Spin in one position without change of foot - Clarifications

Subject: Spin in one position without change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Crossfoot Spin A Crossfoot Spin is to be considered a difficult variation for an Upright Spin and will receive one feature. A Crossfoot Spin must be executed on both feet with the weight equally divided on both feet. If this position is not correctly executed, no feature for a difficult variation can be granted. Yes File name: 08 P_Spin in one position without change of foot Clarifications.doc Page 3 of 3 P Spin in one position without change of foot - Clarifications

Subject: Spin in one position without change of foot Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level Wind-up revolutions in camel and sit spin The wind-up revolutions exceed the maximum number of three (3). The spin will be called as a Spin Combination. The wind-up becomes an upright position. Flying entry A flying entry in a camel or sit spin would make the spin a Flying Camel Spin or a Flying Sit Spin. In case of a flying entry in an upright spin the name of the spin will be Flying Upright Spin. Fall on entry If the skater falls when entering a spin, a spin or a spinning movement is allowed immediately after this fall (for filling time purpose) with this spin/movement not being counted as an element. Less than 2 revolutions in a basic position The spin performed does not have at least 2 continuous revolutions in a basic position; all the other revolutions are performed in an intermediate position If there are not enough revolutions in a basic position, the spin will receive no Level no Level File name: 09 P_Spin in one position without change of foot Mistakes.doc Page 1 of 1 P Spin in one position without change of foot - Mistakes

Subject: Spin in one position with change of foot RULES Free Skating: The spins must have a required minimum number of six (6) revolutions, the lack of which must be reflected by Judges in their marking, however a spin with less than three rotations is considered as a skating movement and not a spin. This minimum number of required revolutions must be counted from the entry of the spin until its exit. The concluding upright position at the end of the spin (final wind-up) is not considered to be another position if does not exceed 3 revolutions and the revolutions executed in it are not to be counted in the required number of revolutions. The minimum number of revolutions required in a position is two (2) without interruption. In case this requirement is not fulfilled, the position is not counted. If the skater (both skaters) falls when entering a spin, a spin or a spinning movement is allowed immediately after this fall (for filling time purpose) with this spin/movement not being counted as an element. If there is no change of foot by both partners the element will be called a spin in one position with no change of foot. The features for Levels of difficulty and the guidelines for marking the GOE will apply. 20 Subject: Spin in one position with change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Biellmann position Biellmann position is a difficult variation of an upright spin when the skaters free leg is pulled from behind to a position higher than and towards the top of the head, close to the spinning axis of the skater. Backward entry A backward entry includes (but not limited to) a forwardinside three turn, in a spin. In order to be counted as a Level feature backward entrance requires at least 2 rev. on a backward outside edge. Backward entry refers to: skaters who spin counter clockwise would enter and begin spinning on the right foot, skaters who spin clockwise would enter and begin spinning on the left foot. Camel position First camel position, then grip of the free leg staying with the upper body flat and the free leg is higher than the hip (no Biellmann or similar position - doughnut or ring position). It is considered a difficult position. Windmill Wind mill (illusion) is not considered a difficult variation and will not receive a feature. no Toe Arabian During the spin a skater performs a Toe Arabian (like a Butterfly) and continues to spin on the same foot. It is a difficult variation and will receive a feature. Both directions Execution of spins in both directions (clockwise and counter clockwise) that immediately follow each other will be rewarded by counting this as an additional feature in all Levels. A minimum of 3 revolutions in each direction is required. A Spin executed in both directions (clockwise and counter clockwise) as above is considered as one Spin. A spin executed in both directions (clockwise and anti-clockwise is considered as one spin) if the centres are close to each other (no clear exit in one spin and clear entrance in the other spin). 21 Subject: Spin in one position with change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Spinning on both edges Spinning on both edges in order to be counted as a feature for a Level requires at least 2 full rev. on one edge followed by at least 2 full rev. on another edge in the same basic position (sit, camel, upright). A change of edge in an intermediate position does not count for a feature. A change of edge will count only once in any spin. The blade must be moving backward or forward on the inside or outside edge and not the flat. Flying entrance Any flying entrance (not an obvious step over ) is considered as a Level feature. Difficult variation A difficult variation is a movement of a body part, leg, arm, hand or head, which requires more physical strength or flexibility and that, has an affect on the balance of the main body core. 22 Subject: Spin in one position with change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no For camel, sit and layback positions once the position has been established a clear increasing of the speed will be considered a difficult variation (Rational: It is necessary to draw body parts (adjust position) toward the main body core in order to increase speed. This is more physically difficult and changes the balance point on the spinning blade). Step over or jump over The change of foot can be either a step-over or a visible jump as a jump-over Only a visible jump-over can be considered as a difficult change of foot. Intermediate positions Iintermediate positions are allowed, counted in the total number of revolutions required by the Rules, but cannot be considered as difficult variations in accordance with the definition of such positions. no Crossfoot Spin A Crossfoot Spin is to be considered a difficult variation for an Upright Spin and will receive one feature. A Crossfoot Spin must be executed on both feet with the weight equally divided on both feet. If this position is not correctly executed, no feature for a difficult variation can be granted. 23 Subject: Spin in one position with change of foot Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level Wind-up revolutions in camel and sit spin The wind-up revolutions exceed the maximum number of three (3). The spin will be called as a Spin Combination. The wind-up becomes an upright position. Will be called as a solo Combo spin no change of foot Less revolutions Skater performs less than 2 revolution in a position or variation of it. The position or variation does not count. Spinning centres far apart when changing The spinning centres when changing the foot are far apart, e.g. a clear exit out of one spin and an entrance to the next spin with the spinning centre apart from each other. Free Skating: only the first part is called and valid for Level features. High sit position Sitting position is much higher than required for a sit spin. The higher position will be considered as an intermediate position. The revolutions in this position are counted in total number of revolutions, but the position is not valid for Level features. Fall after the change of foot with less than three revolutions performed After the change of foot there is either a fall or less than three (3) revolutions performed. The element will be called a spin in one position with no change of foot. The features for Levels of difficulty of the called spin will apply. Level according to element Less than 2 revolutions in a basic position The spin performed does not have at least 2 continuous revolutions in a basic position by either partner; all the other revolutions are performed in an intermediate position. no Level Less than 2 revolutions in a basic position on one foot In Free Skating if a spin in one position with change of foot has no basic position on one foot, the features from the other foot may still applied to reach any level. Free Skating only. File name: 12 P_Spin in one position with change of foot Mistakes.doc Page 1 of 1 P Spin in one position with change of foot - Mistakes

Subject: Spin Combo without change of foot RULES Short Program: Free Skating: Not applicable. The spins must have a required minimum number of revolutions: ten (10) for solo spin combination, the lack of which must be reflected by Judges in their marking; however a spin with less than three rotations is considered as a skating movement and not a spin. This minimum number of required revolutions must be counted from the entry of the spin until its exit. The minimum number of revolutions required in any position is two (2) without interruption. In case this requirement is not fulfilled, the position is not counted. If the skater (both skaters) falls when entering a spin, a spin or a spinning movement is allowed immediately after this fall (for filling time purpose) with this spin/movement not being counted as an element. 26 Subject: Spin Combo without change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Definition of Spin Variations Related to both partners. Simple Variation Difficult variation A movement of a leg, arm, hand or head which enhances, but does not change the basic position of the main body core. A movement of a leg, arm, hand or head which requires more physical strength or flexibility and that has an effect on the balance of the main body core. A simple variation does not increase the level Only these variations can increase the Level. no Total number of Difficult variations Difficult variations count not more than twice. One of the two variations can be in an intermediate position, the other one must be in a basic position. The two variations can not be in the same basic position. 27 Subject: Spin Combo without change of foot Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level Wind-up revolutions in camel and sit spin The wind-up revolutions exceed the maximum number of three (3). The wind-up might be counted as an upright position for the feature All 3 basic positions. Less revolutions in positions Skater performs less than 2 continuous revolution in all executed positions There is spin without any basic position. no Level Less revolution in variation Skater performs less than 2 revolution in a variation of a position The variation does not count as a feature. High sit position Sitting position is much higher than required for a sit spin The position will be identified as intermediate position. If it will be difficult variation in intermediate position, Level Feature will be awarded. Only 1 position A spin combination with only one (1) position with (2) or more revolutions (according to requirements) and all other positions performed with less than 2 revolutions (not to requirements). Will receive Level 1 Level 1 File name: 15 P_Spin Combo without change of foot Mistakes.doc Page 1 of 1 P Spin Combo without change of foot - Mistakes

Subject: Spin Combo with change of foot RULES Short Program Free Skating: The solo spin combination may be commenced with a jump. Minimum of five (5) revolutions on each foot. The change of foot may be executed in the form of a step over or a jump and the change of foot and the change of position may be made either at the same time or separately. Variations of the position of the head, arms or fee leg, as well as fluctuations of speed are permitted. When the spin is commenced with a jump, no previous rotation on the ice before the take-off is permitted, and a step over must be considered by the Judges in the Grade of Execution. The minimum number of revolutions required in a position is two (2) without interruption. In case this requirement is not fulfilled, the position is not counted. If a skater or both skaters fall when entering a spin, a spin or a spinning movement is allowed immediately after this fall (for filling time purpose) with this spin/movement not being counted as an element. The change of foot in the spin combination must be followed by any spin position with at least three (3) revolutions. If there is no spin position before and after the change of foot with at least three (3) revolutions, the spin combination is not according to the requirements and no value will be given. If the spinning centres (before and after the change of foot) are too far apart and the criteria of two spins is fulfilled (there is a curve of exit after the first part and the curve of entry into the second part), the element is not according to the requirements and no Level will be given. The second change of foot in a solo spin combination counts as a feature for a higher level. Solo spins and combinations may be commenced with jumps. A spin combination executed with less than 2 revolutions in all executed positions is considered as a spin combination not according to the requirements, receives no Level and therefore no value. A spin combination executed with only 1 position with more than 2 revolutions (according to requirements) and in all other positions less than 2 revolutions (not according to requirements) receives Level 1. If the spinning centres (before and after the change of foot) are too far apart and the criteria of two spins is fulfilled (there is a curve of exit after the first part and the curve of entry into the second part), the second part will not be called and considered for Level features. If there is no change of foot by both partners the element will be called a spin in one position with no change of foot or a spin combination with no change of foot The features for Levels of difficulty and the guidelines for marking the GOE will apply File name: 16 P_Spin Combo with change of foot Rules.doc Page 1 of 1 P Spin Combo with change of foot - Rules

Subject: Spin Combo with change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Biellmann position Biellmann position is a difficult variation of an upright spin when the skaters free leg is pulled from behind to a position higher than and towards the top of the head, close to the spinning axis of the skater. Backward entry A backward entry includes (but not limited to) a forwardinside three turn, in a spin. Backward entry refers to: skaters who spin counter clockwise would enter and begin spinning on the right foot, skaters who spin counter clockwise would enter and begin spinning on the left foot. Camel position First camel position, then grip of the free leg staying with the upper body flat and the free leg is higher than the hip (no Biellmann or similar position). It is considered a difficult variation of camel position. Windmill Windmill (illusion) execution is not considered a difficult variation and will not receive a feature. no Toe Arabian During the spin a skater performs a Toe Arabian (like a Butterfly) and continues to spin on the same foot. It is a difficult variation and will receive a feature. Both directions Change of edge The spinning centres needs to be close to each other; the spins need to follow immediately each other. In any spin change of edge can be counted only if done in a basic position. Flying entrance Any flying entrance. Step over or jump over The change of foot can be either a step-over or a visible jump as a jump-over Only a visible jump-over can be considered as a difficult change of foot. File name: 17 P_Spin Combo with change of foot Clarifications.doc Page 1 of 2 P Spin Combo with change of foot - Clarifications

Subject: Spin Combo with change of foot CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no More than one change of foot A second change of foot is a feature and will increase the Level. Free Skating only. If the second change of foot is performed together with change of direction, only 1 Level feature will be awarded. Variation during change of position During a change of positions a difficult variation of position can be executed. Definition of Spin Variations Related to both partners. Simple Variation A movement of a leg, arm, leg, hand or head which enhances, but does not change the basic position of the main body core. A simple variation DOES NOT increase the Level. no Difficult variation Second difficult variation A movement of a leg, arm, hand or head which requires more physical strength or flexibility and that has an effect on the balance of the main body core. Only these variations can increase the Level. Second difficult variation counts if the two variations are: - on different feet or - in different positions at least one of them basic or - on different feet and in different positions. If there is only one difficult variation, this can be in any position (basic or intermediate). If there are two difficult variations, one of the two variations must be in a basic position, the other one can be in any position (basic or intermediate). File name: 17 P_Spin Combo with change of foot Clarifications.doc Page 2 of 2 P Spin Combo with change of foot - Clarifications

Subject: Spin Combo with change of foot Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level Less revolutions in positions Skater performs less than 2 continuous revolutions in all executed positions. The position or variation does not count. If each position has less than two revolutions, and then the spins is called a combo spin with change of foot no Level. no Level Less revolution in variation Skater performs less than 2 revolution in a variation of a position The variation does not count as a feature. High sit position Sit spin position - buttocks not higher than the top of the knee of the skating leg, upper part of the skating leg parallel to the ice. The position will be identified as an intermediate position, will be counting only if it will be executed as a difficult variation. Only 1 position A spin combination executed only with one (1) basic position with not less than 2 revolutions (as to requirements) and in all other positions less than 2 revolutions (not to requirements). Will receive Level 1 Level 1 Spinning centres are apart When skater changes foot the spinning centres are far apart, means e.g. a clear exit out of one spin and an entrance to the next spin with the spinning centre apart of each other. The second part will be disregarded in the Short Program; the first part (before the change of foot) is not according to the requirements, therefore no Level. In Free Skating the second spin will be ignored and the first spin evaluated according what it was (spin combination no change of foot or spin in one position, no change of foot etc.) and the Levels will be granted according to what is was. File name: 18 P_Spin Combo with change of foot Mistakes.doc Page 1 of 2 P Spin Combo with change of foot - Mistakes

Subject: Spin Combo with change of foot Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level Fall after the change of foot or less than 3 revolutions performed Three revolutions in a position before and after the change of foot cannot be executed. It is not a difference if one or both partners cannot execute the minimum of three revolutions before or after the change of foot (the weaker performance counts in Pairs). Short Program The element is not according to the requirements and no Level will be given. Free Skating The element will be called a spin in one position with no change of foot or a spin combination with no change of foot. The features for Levels of difficulty of the called spin will apply. Wind-up revolutions The wind-up revolutions exceed two (2). The wind-up might be counted as an upright position for the feature All 3 basic positions. no Level Level according to element File name: 18 P_Spin Combo with change of foot Mistakes.doc Page 2 of 2 P Spin Combo with change of foot - Mistakes

Subject: Pair Spin RULES Free Skating Juniors: The spins must have a required minimum number of revolutions: eight (8) for pair spin, the lack of which must be reflected by Judges in their marking; however a spin with less than three rotations is considered as a skating movement and not a spin. These minimum numbers of required revolutions must be counted from the entry of the spin until its exit. File name: 19 P_Pair Spin Rules.doc Page 1 of 1 P Pair Spin - Rules

Subject: Pair Spin CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Entrance from backward outside or inside edge Both skaters should skate backward outside/inside right before they begin rotating and enter the spin without assistance of free leg. In any spin the backward entrance requires the first two revolutions to be on backward outside/inside edge in order to be counted as a Level feature. There is no three turns or any other turns before skaters start actual spin. Positions: There are 3 basic positions: Camel (free leg backwards with the knee higher than the hip level); Sit (lower part of the buttocks not higher than the top of the skating knee leg, the upper part of the skating leg parallel to the ice); if in a Pair Sit Spin the Lady s free leg is behind, and the Man s free leg is in front, her basic sit position is considered to be achieved, when her skating leg knee is bent 90 degrees or more, regardless of the buttocks position; Upright (any position with extended or almost extended skating leg which is not a camel position) and Intermediate positions (all positions that according to the above definitions are not camel, sit or upright). Intermediate positions are allowed, counted in the total number of revolutions required by the Rules, but are not valid for Level features. Missed Pair spin combination Any pair spin type element not fulfilling the definition of a Pair Spin Combination, will be called as a Pair Spin. At least 6 revolutions without any changes in position/variation and foot It should be no change of position or variation of position by either partner for this feature. File name: 20 P_Pair Spin Clarifications.doc Page 1 of 2 P Pair Spin - Clarifications

Subject: Pair Spin CLARIFICATIONS Subject Solution Comments Feature no Definition of Spin Variations Related to both partners. Simple Variation A movement of a leg, arm, hand or head which enhances, but does not change the basic position of the main body core. A simple variation does not increase the Level. no Difficult variation Both partners are in the same sit position with the free leg extended forward. A movement of a leg, arm, hand or head, which requires more physical strength or flexibility and that, has an effect on the balance of the main body core. Only these variations can increase the Level. This position is not considered as a difficult position. File name: 20 P_Pair Spin Clarifications.doc Page 2 of 2 P Pair Spin - Clarifications

Subject: Pair Spin Mistakes / Failures Subject Performance Comments Level Less revolutions in positions Less revolution in variation Skater performs less than 2 revolutions in a position. Skater performs less than 2 revolutions in a variation of a position. The position or variation does not count. The variation does not count as a feature. High sit position It will be called Intermediate position. Intermediate positions are allowed, counted in the total number of revolutions required by the Rules, but are not valid for Level features. File name: 21 P_Pair Spin Mistakes.doc Page 1 of 1 P Pair Spin - Mistakes

Subject: Pair Spin Combination RULES Short Program The minimum number of revolutions required in a position is two (2) without interruption. In case this requirement is not fulfilled, the position is not counted. If a skater or both skaters fall when entering a spin, a spin or a spinning movement is allowed immediately after this fall (for filling time purpose) with this spin/movement not being counted as an element. The pair spin combination must consist of only one change of foot and at least one change of basic position with not less than eight (8) revolutions in total. The spin combination must include at least two basic positions or their variations by both partners. The change of foot and the change of positions may be made either at the same time or separately, but the change of foot must be made at the same time by both partners. The rotation must be continuous and no stop is permitted, except a short stop when changing direction. The spin combination must not be commenced with a jump. To be counted any position must be executed at least for 2 full revolutions. If there is no change of foot or no change of position by both partners the element will be evaluated as follows: - no change of foot by one partner Level 1 (Technical Panel) and GOE -3 (Judges); - no change of position by one partner Level 1 (Technical Panel) and GOE -3 (Judges); - no change of foot by both partner no Level and consequently no value; - no change of position by both partner no Level and consequently no value. - If the spinning centres (before and after the change of foot) are too far apart and the criteria of two spins is fulfilled (there is a curve of exit after the first part and the curve of entry into the second part), the second part of the spin will be ignored and the element will become a Pair Spin no value File name: 22 P_Pair Spin Combination Rules.doc Page 1 of 2 P Pair Spin Combination - Rules
