Eac exibitor must be a registered member of a 4H club in te project in wic e/se is entering at te IPE 4H Members: Ages 9 to 19 yrs, 2021 yrs Special Project Cloverbud members Ages 6, 7, 8 years and must be registered wit a 4H club. Pee wee classes ave been moved to teir respective Departments All entry forms to be completed and entered by Leaders. Enter alpabetically, on one form listing juniors first and ten seniors. Age of eac member, as of December 31, 2016 to be on te entry form. All entry forms must be signed in order to validate te entry. Unsigned forms will not be processed. All entries must be accompanied by full payment of fees. 4H leaders (or agents filling out entry forms on teir bealf) are responsible for teir own errors or omissions on teir entry forms. No compensation sall be made after date. Failure to abide by 4H rules and IPE rules listed in tis booklet may result in disqualification, forfeiture of prize money and possible disbarment from te fair. PARKING/CAMPING PASS designated 4H parking Lot limited to 2 (two) veicles per exibitor. Please fill out request form Parking $40.00 ($8.00 per day) per veicle Camping $50.00 ($10.00 per day) per veicle All camping units must be identified wit te family name & Club name prominently displayed. Members staying in te designated camping areas are required to follow 4H rules & S.A.D.D. rules, & sow respect for oter campers. No one except 4H members and parents staying in te 4H area. No camping units may extend in any manner into te designated fire lane. Te 118 t Annual IPE Prize Book Gate Passes: Two (2) free leader s passes per club entered. All oter registered leaders passes at regular exibitor price of $21.40 (tax included). Members entered Only in one day events will (may only) receive a One Day Pass. 4H Lamb & Swine Auction: any inquiries must be directed to te 4H Lamb & Swine Auction committee ALL 4H MARKET HOGS AND 4H MARKET LAMBS (tis is unit 1) ENTERED IN THE IPE MUST BE SOLD AT THE 4H AUCTION ON FRIDAY NIGHT, September 1 st, 6 pm. Swine will sell first in 2017 Buyer signature and Parent signature required to verify sale price. Any dispute over selling price must be submitted to te 4H Auction Committee for Resolution. Weigt Restrictions: Lambs must be over 90 lbs. regardless of breed. Swine must be a minimum of 190 lbs. Underweigt animals can be used for sowmansip class only and must not be used for unit 1 Market lamb or swine and will not be sold at auction. A meeting of all 4H Leaders to discuss 4H and te fair will be eld on Sunday, September 3 rd, time & location to be announced. All Leaders MUST attend tis meeting. If te Club Leader does not receive te Prize Money ceque by November 1 st, please contact te Office All prize ceques are to be cased by December 1 st, no reissuing of ceques will be undertaken, ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. Prize ceques not cased by December 1 st, 2017 will be considered a donation to te IPE. RULES AND REGULATIONS Ceck open classes for particular rules and regulations specific to your project. For identification purposes animal entries WILL be cecked against 4H project I.D. Seets. Dairy, Swine, Beef and Seep must ave correct Government I.D Tags. Swine project must ave a second identification number wic must be in te form of a clearly identifiable permanent tattoo. Dogs must ave a permanent tattoo wic as been recorded wit District Awards Coordinator prior to start of project year. Bot numbers to be recorded on entry form. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED IN BARNS UNLESS CLEARLY TAGGED, BANDED or TATTOOED. 4 75

2 4 All 4H projects to follow 4H provincial specific project regulations. After being placed in te livestock barns te care of animals and preparation of animals for te sow ring is to be carried out by te 4H member WITHOUT ADULT ASSISTANCE. During te placing of Livestock classes, only 4H members competing in te class will be allowed in te sow ring. In group classes any oter person may be engaged as a sowman, but not more tan one person per animal to be allowed in te sow ring. Failure to abide by above will result in 4H members disqualification. In Sowmansip classes te participating 4H club member must exibit teir own current acievement project animal. All animals entered in sowmansip must be a registered 4H project and be entered in teir IPE project unit class. Previous year s project continued as project under new classification may not be exibited in sowmansip classes. A potocopy of your project identification seets to accompany your IPE entry forms. If project as been canged before your deadline you must ave documentation of approval from your district council. No Dairy project animal may be replaced witin 60 days of opening day of te IPE and 30 days prior for Lamb & Swine projects. I.D. seets must be signed by te leader. Dairy Leaders please ave members list te Dam & Sire of teir 4H calves on te bottom of te 4H Id seets. All 4H lambs will be subject to a Veterinary inspection as per Division 7 requirements. All animals entering te barns sould be Properly Vaccinated, Dewormed, and Deloused. No orns permitted on 4H animals at te IPE. All stalls must be cleaned before 8 a.m. eac day. No manure from te 4H small or Large livestock barns to be put out after te pile as been removed. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR CLUB IS USING THE CORRECT 4H NAME AND EMBLEM: 4H guidelines # 119 A copy of 4H member/parent Release Forms are to be submitted wit entry forms. Tese are to be sealed in an envelope and will only be opened in case of an emergency. Leaders can pick up tese forms on te Sunday evening of te I.P.E. It is te Members Responsibility to take care of Tropies received at te I.P.E. Please do not leave tem in te barns or were tey can be damaged. At te end of your Awards day please return to te I.P.E. Office. Scolarsip awarded must be claimed witin 2 years. RBC AGRICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP: Entrants must be entered and participate in eac of te following classes at te IPE to qualify: 4H Judging competition, 4H Dairy Sowmansip/fitting and at least one(1) 4H Dairy conformation class. NO ENTRY FEE Te 118 t Annual IPE Prize Book DOG All Members and projects will enter troug te Wood Avenue gate closest to te Agriplex 15 minutes before te class starts and leave te grounds 20 minutes after te class is over. Large Dogs: To be walked on leas onto te grounds, and not removed from te leas unless required by judge Small Dogs: carried in a suitable dog crate. 5 committee. All rules as per 4H publication #1101 will apply. 37. Unit 1 Exploring poultry: Exibit a Trio or Urban Trio PHOTOGRAPHY General Rules a. Exibitor must be a member of a registered 4H Potograpy club. b. All entries must originate as a potograp, taken wit a camera (film or digital) by te exibitor. c. All prints must be on Poto Quality Paper, regardless of printing metod used. d. Digital potograps (wit no enancements or canges) will be judged in wit te standard classes. Digital enanced potograps will not be accepted. e. No names or titles are permitted on te front, unless oterwise stated. f. Multiple entries of te same potograp in different classes are not permitted. g. Judging will be done by experienced potograper(s) Potograps can be Black & Wite or Colour. All potograps are to be 5x7 unless oterwise stated. Entry Rules: a. No more tan one (1) print may be entered in te same class. b. All potograps must be firmly mounted on or beind black Bristol Board or ligtweigt matting board. No eavy backing, frames or glass will be accepted. c. Picture stories or collection of pictures, to be mounted togeter on bristol board wit a maximum 1 border around display, NO CAPTIONS. d. Mats or oter mounting material must not extend more tan 1 from te edge of te poto on all sides. (Te number of entries to be displayed makes tis rule necessary no exceptions will be made). e. If mats are used, te resulting VISIBLE potograp must meet te minimum size requirement. For example, te visible part of te print must be 5x7,matted or unmatted, to be considered a 5x7 print. Often a commercially purcased mat for a 5x7 print will result in te VISIBLE PART of te potograp being 4x6. Tis would disqualify te potograp. f. Unit Unit Unit 3 CLOVERBUD Cloverbud is one of te newest projects, created specifically for 6, 8 year old cildren, not competing wit te rest of te 4H members, but to explore te Brandy Rees Poto 4 79

6 4 various projects tat 4H and agriculture offer. Watc for Cloverbud displays at te IPE. Te 4H members and te 4H Leaders working wit tem are proud to display wat tey ve learned. 7 EDUCATIONAL BOARD DISPLAY ENTRY FEE: $3.50 PRIZE MONEY: $10, $9, $8, $7, $6, $5 Te I.P.E will not be responsible for any lost or damaged (due to water/dampness, dirt/ dust etc.) Educational Displays. Open to all 4H members. Minimum of tree entries required to make class. Members name & club must be written legibly on te back upper rigt and corner of te board. Maximum size 180 cm. long, 90 cm deep x 120 cm ig. Deduct 10 points for oversize. NOTE: See 4H publication for details. NEW DISPLAY EVERY YEAR. As space for displays is limited, entries accepted on a first come basis until space is filled. Members failing to exibit te previous year, wen entry was accepted, will automatically go to bottom of te list te following year. 95. Educational Board Display Junior 96. Educational Board Display Senior 4H STALL COMPETITION For 4H animal clubs Te competition is designed to encourage Clubs to maintain a creditable exibit and ensure proper respect for te Public, te Leaders and fellow 4H Exibitors trougout te Exibition. Points to be considered in judging entries will be: Club & 4H Identification, Stall area, Animals, Equipment and Supplies, Club Members. Prize money will be forfeited by a Club for failure to completely remove stall decorations. Stall Competition to be judged between te ours of 10 am. and 6 pm. August 30, 31 September 1 st 2 nd 3 rd,. Dairy: to be judged September 1 st 2 nd 3 rd,. Beef: to be judged August 30, 31 st Clubs are requested to make an effort to keep teir stalls presentable for te off times during te ours wen te Fair is open to te public (6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily). Adult assistance during tese off times will not be penalized. Competitions must be carried out by Club members only, wit te exception of te above times, witout adult assistance trougout te Exibition. Top of decorations must not be above 8 feet from te floor; only fire resistant materials may be used. Leaders to enter Club on entry form. Te OKE SWENSON MEMORIAL TROPHY will be presented for annual competition for a project to be decided upon eac year by te Executive of te Interior Provincial Exibition Association. b) ROYAL BANK TROPHY Awarded to te 4H Club /members from te Armstrong Lumby Vernon Council Area, acieving te igest score for an Educational Display. No Keeper Tropy. c) ERIC HORNBY PROFICIENCY TROPHY Open to all senior 4H members wose clubs are members of Armstrong, Vernon, Lumby District 4H council. Awarded to member scoring igest aggregate on project, placing, general judging, sowmansip or demonstration and deportment at I.P.E. No Keeper Tropy. d) ROYAL BANK TROPHY Open to all Junior 4H members wose clubs are members of Armstrong, Vernon, Lumby District 4H Council. Awarded to member scoring igest aggregate on project placing, general judging, sowmansip or demonstration and deportment at IPE. No Keeper Tropy. e) LUCY FOWLER PROFICIENCY TROPHY Awarded to te top sewing club member wo s club is a member of te Armstrong, Vernon, Lumby District 4H Council at te I.P.E.
