2 WEXFORD GAA COACH EDUCATION PROGRAMME 2016 Aim & Objectives Wexford GAA aim to deliver a number of foundation and award one coaching courses between October and March. The courses aim to improve overall coaching standards within clubs as well as ensure coaches over underage teams have the appropriate qualifications. es who are interested in the 2 course must apply directly to the coaching department. We will also be running a number of informal events aimed at Strength and Conditioning and practical hurling & football workshops. Duration & Course Elements The foundation award which is aimed at beginner coaches last between seven and ten hours. The course involves practical as well as theory sessions. The course will be run by one lead tutor. The One course last between sixteen & twenty hours. The course will be both classroom & field based. The course will be delivered by a variety of tutors. What if my club is not listed? Clubs who are not listed can organise a foundation award. There must be a minimum of twelve coaches to do so. If your club is not hosting you may attend a course in a nearby club. If you are a club and want to organise a course contact the coaching department. 2
