Types of development, direct and indirect life cycles. 04 Modes of transmission of parasites and methods of dissemination of the infective stages of the parasites Tissue reactions caused by parasites to the host, Parasite specificity in relation to the species, breed, sex and location Resistance of hosts to parasitic infection/ infestation, importance of immunity against parasitic infection/ infestation Standardized Nomenclature of Animal Parasitic Diseases (SNOAPAD), International code of zoological nomenclature of parasites, rules and regulations. 08 General description of helminth parasites affecting domestic animals and birds Detailed classification of phylum- Platyhelminthes and their Salient morphological features of diagnostic importance of phylum-platyhelminthes, Nemathelminthes and Acanthocephala. 11 General life cycle of the helminths in relation to transmission, pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnosis and control measures Study of the following helminth parasites parasitizing domestic livestock and birds to include their important morphological features, life cycles, modes of transmission, pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnosis, chemo and immunoprophylaxis wherever used and general control measures.
