3 Price HISTORY & CULTURE Santo António & Porto Real The main town of Príncipe is Santo António, which is most intriguing with its well preserved colonial architecture that has managed to preserve the atmosphere that once existed in the region. Explore this town by car as well as experience the daily life of the locals. 4 Price HISTORY & CULTURE Roça Sundy A colonial farm that was once the home of the Portuguese royal family. Sundy boasts a very large hospital, church, stables, coffee and cocoa roasting facilities, an enormous mansion, sleeping quarters for hundreds of laborers, a railway network with steam locomotive and various other outbuildings. 5 Price HISTORY & CULTURE Abade Beach and Nova Estrela belvedere This trip by car takes you to the eastern side of Príncipe following the coast, past a typical fishing village with its dugout canoes, racks of flying fish being dried out and tree-houses on your way to the Roça of Abade. From there you can enjoy spectacular views of the magnificent Jockey s Cap where it rises out of the ocean to a height of 305 meters, a couple of kilometers off the coast. 3 hours Difficulty level 1 It is recommended to take repellent, sun screen and hat. 8 NATURE Hiking Hiking is of the best activities to engage in these exotic islands through the dense rainforests. The island has a fascinating rainforest laid out over a massive stretch of land offering stunning views and an exuberant variety of plant and animal life. As you circumnavigate Bom Bom Island on your own by foot, explore its beautiful rock pools with their own ecosystems varying. You can also find an abundance of birdlife on the island. 11 Price PICO PAPAGAIO Pico Papagaio is at the centre of the island and rises up to 680 metres. Drive to the old road of the farm of Pico Papagaio; from here you will follow by foot, the old historic track to the top of Pico do Papagaio reaching the top you will meet breath-taking views. 13 Price BIRD WATCHING In the gulf of Guinea you can find many interesting distinctive living species. Due to evolution and isolation, São Tomé and Príncipe boasts unique endemic species of birds.. There are many endemic species to São Tomé and Príncipe but also endemic species to Príncipe. 14 SNORKELING São Tomé & Príncipe have some of the world s most spectacular rock formations, above and below the waterline. With drop-offs of over 35 metres, overhangs and cascading boulders, there is plenty of sea life. 15 Price TURTLE BREEDING/ NESTING From November to March is the season when you can witness the Leatherback, Hawsbill, Loggerhead & Green turtles nesting. These sea turtles, migrate long distances between feeding grounds and hatching beaches. Females crawl out from the sea onto the beaches, dig nests and lay eggs during the night. 2-3 hours Inclusive of guide Difficulty level 2 It is recommended to take repellent,, long sleeves, trousers and comfortable shoes. 16 Price MARINA LIFE EXPERIENCE Whale Watching On a boat tour in Príncipe waters may be seen, dolphins, turtles, sea birds and schools of different fish. It is possible to snorkel in some small islands and enhance the changes of a unique setting. From mid July until September Humpbacks (Megaptera novaeangliae) visit us as they move from their summer feeding grounds in low latitudes to more tropical mating and calving areas. 3 hours Difficulty level 2-3 Sun screen, long sleeves and hat No children under the age of 5. If you have any special interest in some take pictures of our biodiversity, we can organize a special tour to register the exquisite animals and plant life from Príncipe. 18 BIG GAME FISHING The tropical island of Príncipe is one of the world s least explored and most exciting Big Game Fishing destination. Target the elusive large Atlantic Blue Marlin and world record size Atlantic Sailfish that have rightfully made the area famous, as well as its variety of game fish such as Yellow fin Tuna, Snapper, and Barracuda amongst others. Most interesting species: Atlantic blue marlin (Makaira nigricans), Sailfish - Atlantic (Istiophorus platypterus), Yellow fin tuna (Thunnus Albacares), Wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri), Dorado (Coryphaena hippurus), Various inshore species NOTE: We have a Catch & Release policy practice for all billfish captured. BBIR fully supports the tagging and releasing of fish and all billfish caught on our boats will be released, except in the case of a potential world record ( if the guest wishes to claim it ). 19 DEEP SEA FISING SEASON Atlantic blue marlin May to mid October, with July to September (Gravana) being peak season. Sailfish - Atlantic Peak season runs from September to December with the best results in mid September to mid November. Yellowfin tuna Great fishing has been had as soon as February and March but large fish however seem to be most consistent from May to October. Wahoo More predominant during the Gravana season as well as during the height of the Sailfish season from September to December. Dorado Mainly from May to September

20 FISHING BOAT CHARTER RATES All prices are inclusive of boat, fuel, crew, bait, conventional Penn Int. tackle from #20 to # 80, terminal tackle, water, soft drinks and packed lunch (on full day charters only). The resort does not provide spinning, casting, surf or fly fishing equipment and guests are requested to bring their own. 21 BOAT RENTAL When renting the boat (with a Captain) you can make a full circle of the island (minimum 6 hours), visiting only a few points of interest (minimum 4 hours) or stop at one of the many deserted beaches. We suggest a visit to Banana beach, Macaco beach or Boi beach, where you can take a picnic lunch and spend the day relaxing or snorkeling. No children under 5 years. You will be able to take your photos and videos home with you in a 2 gigs USB pen drive.
