15 CREW PROFILES CAPTAIN Tom Francis - New Zealander Growing up in Papua New Guinea, Tom lived on his family yacht spending his childhood cruising the remote islands of New Guinea, from Port Moresby to Milne Bay. Sailing and fishing have been in his blood since an early age, catching king mackerel, wahooand tuna while sailing from island to island. Often raising billfish on home made lures he grew frustrated when not able stop their blistering runs. Crewing on boats during the school holidays, and then finishing school, returning to New Guinea to run the deck on a local charter boat. Since moving to New Zealand in 1996 Tom has fished from the Three Kings to East Cape and was the 1st captain to recreationally fish the Whanganella Banks. Since the launch of Ultimate Lady in August 98 Tom has worked his way up through the ranks from 1st mate to gaining his Captains and engineers license, and in 2001 took over as Captain. Tom is a well-traveled professional, having worked on boats in Cairns, Gold Coast, Vanuatu, Fiji, New Guinea, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and now calls French Polynesia home. Qualifications include: NZ Offshore Master STCW 95, 500 ton unlimited area operation, Marine Engineer Class 4, Boat Builder, Dive Master, Ship Master Medic Hobbies include: Stand up Paddle Board, Kite surfing, Windsurfing, Marlin fishing, Scuba diving, cooking

16 FIRST MATE: Jeremy Boyle, New Zealander Growing up in a small coastal town in Gisborne, New Zealand Jeremy lived for the outdoors. He was always found chasing trout in the rivers and stalking wild pigs and deer roaming the bush or fishing down at the wharf. Hunting and fishing are two of his greatest passions in life, so, when he was 15 years old he was offered the opportunity a job on a commercial long-line vessel. Jeremy spent three years commercial fishing working with Captain Colin Kerr, who was a leader in the catching of tuna and broadbill swordfish at the port of Gisborne. Although Jeremy enjoyed long lining and learnt many different skills and techniques, his ultimate dream was working on a marlin fishing boat. In 2001 the opportunity to crew for one of the finest game fishing boats in New Zealand. A position onboard Ultimate Lady came up and Jeremy took his first steps to reaching his childhood dream of being a professional marlin fisherman. Jeremy spent 5 and a half years working onboard Ultimate Lady, starting as a crewman and working his way to achieving necessary certificates to become First Mate. In 2006, Jeremy joined Ultimate Lady on her annual pilgrimage to Cairns for the giant black marlin season. Once in Cairns Jeremy spent time on another top Australian marlin fishing boat, with Captain Luke Fallon. During his two seasons working on Kekoa, Jeremy fished with some high profile anglers, Marsha Biermanand Gary Carter from the U.S.A. Kekoa sclients demanded the best crew to chase giant black marlin on ultra light tackle. That year, Jeremy was instrumental in helping to successfully tag and release numerous black marlin over the 900lb's, with 5 fish over 1100lbs. Jeremy is quick with a smile and a joke, he enjoys sharing his passion for boating and water sports with his guests ensuring they have the most enjoyable time possible. Qualifications: New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry Level 6, New Zealand Offshore Master STCW 95, 500 ton unlimited area operation, Marine Engineer Class 6 Motor, Advanced Fishing Deckhand, Comprehensive first aid. COOK - Patrick O'Donnel, From Costa Rica Patrick joined the boat midway through 2010. He was originally born in Costa Rica, but was sent to study in the US at the age of 5.

Always passionate about the ocean he left to study Marine Biology. After a short stint at University, Patrick returned to Costa Rica and began his professional fishing career. Starting off as a wash down/chamois boy and working his way up to first mate. Patrick then spent a couple of years on both off shore and inshore charter fishing vessel's. Always keen to travel and experience new fisheries he jumped on a private vessel and began traveling throughout Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. While in the Caribbean, his passion for fly fishing took off, especially for the always elusive bonefish. He continued to challenge himself to learn new techniques and always finding a better and more effective way to catch the target species. Patrick has become an integral part of the Ultimate Lady team both on deck and in the galley. His other passion is cooking and you know when Pat has finished preparing lunch you are in for a treat! Preparing delicate tasty treats for all onboard in some of the most trying conditions is Pats specialty. Patrick's hobbies include: Fly fishing, Kite Surfing, Stand up Paddle board, Spear fishing, Scuba Diving

DECKHAND, Justin Trinder, South African Justin has only recently joined the team onboard. He comes to the job with a wealth of experience in the plumbing trade.

Justin was brought up on the east coast of South Africa, then moving to Gisborneat the age of 13. Justin has a very keen interest in the sea and fishing.

However after 10 years working as a Plumber/Gasfitter he decided to turn his passion for the water into a career. His Main hobbies are scuba diving, fishing, Hockey and generally all water sports. Justin enjoy's taking people fishing and experiencing the great times associated with fishing and boating.
