3 Golf Dress Regulations Members, guests and visitors are expected to dress in clean, neat and tidy clothing. Shirts with collars are required for s competition golf. Soft spikes are mandatory. Dress regulations are to be adhered to on the golf course, putting green, and driving range. The following are not appropriate: Sports shorts, track pants, swim attire Singlets, tank tops, ladies string strap tops Thongs/Sandals Torn or dirty clothing Etiquette Please respect everyone s right to enjoy their time on the course and at the Club. Adhering to the following will help ensure this happens: Do not move, talk, or stand close to or directly behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke. No player should play until the party in front is out of range. If a ball you have struck is heading toward another party, FORE! must be called. Players are to play without delay and stay within a shot of the group ahead. If you find you have trouble doing so, please see pro shop staff for suggestions. Please be sure to rake a bunker after playing from it, fix your pitch mark ( and others if time allows) on the putting green and carry and use a sand bucket. When the result of a hole has been determined, players should immediately leave the putting green and should not retry their putts or practice putting. When you have the honour on the tee, play immediately from the next tee box if it is safe to do so and mark your card after you have hit off. Practice with more than two balls on the golf course is prohibited. Signed competition cards are to be processed through the scanner in the Club or, if requested, returned to the pro shop immediately following your round. Players are advised that the handicap system employed by Golf Australia requires that every player endeavours to make the best score they can on each hole in every round they play. As a marker, if you feel that a player has not proceeded in this manner, you are asked to notify the pro shop. Be patient, tactful and pleasant and endeavour to assist those less experienced. Take the time to introduce yourself to new members and assist in making them welcome. Page 2

4 Introduction of Guests Members are encouraged to share their club with guests. When doing so, please ensure the correct procedures are used to gain entrance to the Club and that green fees are paid prior to play. Members are held responsible for their guests (and minors in their company) whilst on Club premises. Members may invite guests to play in competitions based on the following guidelines: Members must accompany their guest(s) on course. Member guests will be limited to three (3) per day. Individual guests will be limited to five (5) member invitations per year on Saturdays. Code of Conduct On entering a Thurgoona Country Club Resort golf event, a player agrees to comply with normal standards of behaviour and conduct. Players are under an obligation to avoid acts that are unsportsmanlike and detrimental to the game of golf. Any of the following is regarded as unacceptable and may render a player subject to action as determined by the Golf Committee: Behaviour of any type, during a competition or approved tournament or activity either on Club premises or at another Club while representing TCCR, which brings discredit to the Thurgoona Country Club Resort or the game of golf. Using profane or abusive language, throwing or breaking clubs, wilfully damaging the course, criticising the course or competition, the sponsors or other officials connected with the competition. Deliberately breaking the Rules of Golf. Refusing to comply with the Club s dress regulations. Starting Please assist the pro shop by arriving at least 10 minutes prior to your tee time. Players arriving late for their tee time must check with the pro shop and may be redirected to another time and/or tee. In some situations, the pro shop may ask a player (or players) to move tee times or groups to allow for the efficient running of the tee. When possible, please accommodate these requests. Complaints All complaints shall be made in writing to the Golf Committee Secretary or the Director of Golf for golfing related matters or to the General Manager for Club related matters. If needed, the matter shall be brought before the appropriate committee or individual for subsequent action. No employee of the Club shall be directly reprimanded by a member or group of members. 5 Conditions of Play Golf competitions shall be played under the Rules of Golf and in conjunction with Local Rules which should be consulted by all players prior to hitting off. Note that Local Rules can change from one day of a competition to the next. In order to win a Monthly Medal or Board event, players must be golfing members of Thurgoona Country Club Resort as at the start of the competition. Entry fees must be paid in full prior to the start of any competition. Where applicable, qualification for categories based on age shall be determined by the player s age as of the day of the event (or the first day in the case of multiple round events). Handicaps for major events is limited to a maximum of 36 for men and 45 for ladies. The Golf Committee has the right to vary conditions of play as it sees fit. All golfers are asked to consult the Conditions of Play posted in the pro shop prior to the start of all major events. Ties In the case of ties, winners will be decided by the NSWGA countback system unless otherwise stipulated in the event s Conditions of Play. In the event of a play-off, the Golf Committee may decide a result by countback or walk-over in the case of a player not being available. Reciprocal Clubs As a benefit of your membership, Thurgoona Country Club Resort has reciprocal rights with several other Clubs. Only Full Golf Members (not Country Golf Members) of Thurgoona Country Club Resort have access to these Reciprocal arrangements. The standard Reciprocal Arrangement with the Clubs is a 50% reduction in applicable green fees unless otherwise stated. If players choose to play in a competition, competition fees would be in addition to the green fee. Please note that these arrangements and Clubs are subject to change over time. Members are asked to follow appropriate procedures when looking to play at one of our Reciprocal courses. This includes calling ahead to book a tee time and mentioning that you are a full golfing member of Thurgoona Country Club Resort of which the Club has a Reciprocal Arrangement. At the time of booking, enquiry should be made as to the applicable green fee and documentation requirements for checking in some clubs may require a letter stating that you are a full golfing member which shows your handicap (please see the pro shop if this is the case). As a beneficiary of these reciprocal arrangements, please act in accordance with the Club s Rules, By-Laws and accepted Codes of Conduct while visiting a Reciprocal Club. Page 4
