The top 40 qualified riders will be notified and will be given a deadline by which to declare their intent to show. No rider s spot in the AIG Million will be guaranteed until he/she has officially entered (see Entry Procedure below). If any rider declines, the next rider in the standings will be notified until all 40 slots are filled. In the event that two or more riders are tied for the final qualifying position, all those tied will qualify. The top 20 qualified riders who enter will be eligible to ride two (2) horses. All other riders may ride one (1) horse. ENTRY PROCEDURE All Qualified Riders must be officially entered by 5 pm, Monday, March 11. Entry Form available in Show Office. Payment must accompany entry. An entry without payment may be declined and the next rider in line will be invited. After 5 pm, Monday, March 11, entry fee is not refundable under any circumstance. SECURE STABLING Horses must purchase a stall on the grounds of AON HITS Desert Horse Park. Horses must be stabled on the grounds beginning Wednesday, noon, March 13 and must declare their stall location to the Show Office. Horses must remain on the grounds until the conclusion of the AIG Million. The Wednesday, noon, March 13 stipulation will be strictly enforced. RIDERS MEETING A MANDATORY Riders Meeting will be held Friday, March 15 at the end of the Show Day. Attendance by the Rider is required. Any conflicts must be approved via agreement with the Show Committee. An Agent or Representative in attendance does not satisfy this requirement. SUBSTITUTIONS Since it is the rider who is qualified, substitution of horse may be made at any time, but should be made the day before the class if possible. The Substitute Horse must have been stabled on the grounds according to the procedure above, and must follow any other stipulations regarding schooling, lunging, etc. Substitution must be made in the Show Office by completing the Official Class Entry Blank for the new horse. MUTCH EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIP DAY Fri ENTRY FEE $100 POST ENTRY FEE $25 SCRATCH FEE $25 ELIGIBILITY - Open to junior riders who have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any USEF Medal, ASPCA Maclay, USEF Talent Search, WIHS Equitation Classic (either phase or overall), M&S Junior Medal or CPHA Junior Medal from any series of AA shows of 3 (three) weeks or longer after January 1, FORMAT Round I: Round II: Round III: To compete over a course of fences set at 3'6" to include gymnastics, trot fences, oxers, verticals and combinations, as well as a counter canter. The top ten will return in reverse order. To be shown over a technical, jumper-type course. Fences 3'6". Time allowed measured at a speed of 350 meters/minute. At judges discretion. May include USEF Equitation tests SPECIFICATIONS - Performance Over Fences to be judged by two panels of judges, each consisting of one Hunter/Equitation Judge and one Jumper Rider/Trainer using the open numerical judging system. A third panel consisting of one or two members, and who are either a Judge, Trainer/Rider or Steward, will observe in the schooling area and make a report to the panel prior to the scores being totaled. Points of -2, -1, 0, +1, +2 may be added/subtracted from the rider's scores based on the panel's observations in the schooling area. ADDITIONAL RULES GOVERNING THE COMPETITION All horses must remain in the schooling area under the supervision of the Judge/Steward and the paddock managers. Riders are responsible for the course walk as well as the management and schooling of their own horse. Each rider is allowed to have one groom in the holding area to assist with the horse and to set fences in the schooling area, at the direction of the rider. Riders are not allowed to leave the designated schooling area, rider seating area or holding area at any time unless accompanied by the supervising Judge/Steward. Trainers will not be allowed to enter the designated schooling area, rider seating area or holding area at any time. Any communication between the rider and trainer will result in immediate elimination. All cell phones and similar devices will be collected and returned at the conclusion of the class. TACK/EQUIPMENT - Conventional tack per JP 111. Running or standing martingales used in the conventional manner are permitted. Change of tack is permissible between phases.
