We specialize in the collection and transport of fresh chilled semen as well as the importation and distribution of frozen semen throughout Australia. Empire Stallions is a premier breeding establishment owned and managed by David James and Donna Egan who relocated to Victoria over 10 years ago. This picturesque property is nestled at the foot of Mount Bernard in Avenel and is centrally located just one hour north of Melbourne and only 3 kilometers from the Avenel exit on the Hume Highway. David has been responsible for the sale or importation of over 120 Standardbred stallions to the Southern Hemisphere during the past 30 years including Albert Albert, Fake Left, Soky s Atom, Troublemaker, etc. Donna transferred her lifetime love of horses into a very exciting seven year position as Marketing Director at the U.S. Harness Racing Hall of Fame in Goshen, New York prior to partnering with David to establish Empire. Les Joslin, a former international cricket player, who has been successfully involved in the Standardbred industry for more than 30 years, joined Empire in 2011 as Sales Manager. David, Donna, Les and our staff are very passionate about the sport and devoted to the enhancement of the Standardbred breed. Substantial discounts are available for one mare, multiple mares, farm loyalty as well as discounts to members of sanctioned breeders groups such as Harness Breeders VIC, Harness Breeders NSW, State BOTRAs, WASBA, etc. Please note that with regards to all mares bred and declared in foal with fresh chilled semen, service fees are payable on or before April 1, 2016 which is a great extension of time to the old pay upon a 42-day positive test basis. For ease of payment, Empire accepts cheques, EFT and Mastercard/Visa as well as NSW Breeders Challenge & Breeders Bonus Certificates and SAMOS Certificates.
