Trophy Hunter Derby Divisions 2 6 & 2 9 MHC, NEHC AA, SSHC 2 0 unrated Entry Fee $ Prize money: 1st $100. 2nd $60, 3rd $50, 4th $40, 5th $30, 6th $ Hunter Derby, This is a two round class open to all riders to be shown over a course of ten fences at 2 0 with the first round judged on performance, hunter pace, style, quality, substance, and movement. The course should include at least one in and out one bending line and one unrelated distance. The obstacles are to simulate those found in a hunt field. Natural obstacles may be used. The top 4 or 25% from the first round will return to jump a handy hunter round of eight obstacles which may include at least two of the following: trot jump, light turn option, clever options for jump approach, halt and or back and walk jump. Trophy Membership applications for the HHRC, MHC, NEHC and SSHC are available at the secretaries booth. Hanover Hunt & Riding Club Horse Show RULES & REGULATIONS This show will be run under the rules of NEHC and MHC The Hanover Hunt and Riding Club, Briggs Stable, the show committee members or officials will not be responsible for any accident that may occur to any animal, person or property and each exhibitor shall hold them harmless and indemnify them against any legal proceeding or liabilities arising from any such accident, or loss of property caused to or by property or employee of such exhibitor. No Exhibitor or person shall approach a Judge to discuss a decision or matters unless he first obtains permission from the show steward. Any exhibitor or person disregarding this rule may be asked to cancel all entries and forfeit entry fees. Judges decisions are final. Horses must be entered under recorded name of their owners or leases of records. All equitation and other classes restricted specifically to Junior Exhibitors are open only to Juniors who have not reached their 18th birthday by December 1, Proof of negative Coggins dated within the last 12 months must accompany each horse as it enters the show grounds. A current Health Certificate is required for entering Massachusetts. Please include REGISTRATION NUMBER and SEX OF ENTRY on your entry form. The Horse Show Committee reserves the right to vary or change the judges and to decline any entry. Also, the Committee reserves the right to cancel any classes where there are less than 3 entries and to divide or combine any class in the best interests of the show. Equitation classes may be combined if less than 4 entries in a division. The Committee reserves the right not to delay classes due to conflicts and not to allow substitution of classes or horses. A Trophy and/or money and 6 ribbons will be presented in all classes. NEHC Pleasure Classes are presented a certificate. Prize money will be awarded in the ring, in the form of a voucher. VOUCHERS MUST BE CASHED THE DAY OF THE SHOW at the Secretary s Booth when all entry fees are settled. Horses entered and not exhibited shall forfeit fees, unless the committee is presented with a veterinary certificate, or in equitation only, a physician s certificate in the case of the rider. To be eligible for a stake or championship class, the Exhibitor must have shown in at least one other qualifying class in the division. All riders are to dress appropriately in both English and Western classes. The Outside Course will consist of post and rails, walls, gates, pickets, brush, and other natural elements. In Hunter Seat Equitation, ribbons won in classes not to jump shall not affect a rider s status in classes over jumps. However, ribbons won in classes over jumps shall affect a rider s status in classes not to jump. The Show Committee reserves the right to vary the Outside Course and change the obstacles when it shall deem that such a variation or change is in the best interest of the exhibitors. A and a Reserve will be awarded in all hunter divisions to 2 of the 4 horses which have aquired the most points over fences in their division. In addition to these points, only those horses shall receive full points for ribbons won in the under saddle classes. ALL DOGS must be leashed at all times. Any Entry found on the judge s card that had not been previously entered may be required to pay a double entry fee. Briggs Stable requires all to wear protective headgear while riding in the designated schooling and exercise areas, the show ring and while jumping anywhere on the competition grounds. Headgear must be approved by and conform to the standards of the USEF and be ASTM/SEI certified. Harnesses must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the junior exhibitor to see to it that the headgear worn complies with such standard. No alcoholic beverages or substances allowed on premises. A full refund of entry fees, less a $25.00 office charge, will be made upon receipt of a veterinary certificate. Once a horse has shown in a class or division, it is no longer eligible for a refund. Refunds will be made after the show. Checks returned for any reason will be subject to a $25.00 fee. Schooling permitted in authorized areas only. Courteous behavior is expected from all exhibitors. Any protest must be submitted in writing to the Show Manager, postmarked within 5 days of the close of the show, accompanied by a nonrefundable $25.00 fee. All protests will be reviewed by the show committee. The gates open for trailer parking at 6:00a.m. Parking is by assignment. Trailers only on field; all spectator parking outside of show grounds. Under Massachusetts Law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities, pursuant to section 2D of chapter 128 of the General Law.
