A 1st year horse must jump 3 and a 2nd year horse must jump 3 3. Motorized Vehicle Statement -Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. 9 Rules & Regulations Auburn Fall Classic ( ), & Foothills Classic (328598) are rated A Green Working Hunter, Green Confirmation Hunter, Regular Working Hunter, Regular Confirmation Hunter, Amateur Owner Hunter, Junior Hunter, Green Pony Hunter, Pony Hunter; rated C Hunter Breeding, Pony Hunter Breeding, Pre-Green Hunter, Children s Hunter, Adult Amateur Hunter, Children s Pony Hunter. General Information (continued) Protective Headgear- All exhibitors are required to wear properly fitting snug protective headgear on the show grounds when mounted. All riders must wear ASTM Approved protective headgear with harness secured when mounted. The Sanctioning Associations encourages all riders to wear protective headgear passing or surpassing current applicable ASTM standards with harness secured while riding anywhere on the show grounds. It is the responsibility of the rider, parent, guardian, or trainer of the junior exhibitor to see to it that the headgear worn complies with appropriate safety standards and is in good condition and properly fitted. Conduct- Any act of discourtesy to a Judge, Show Official, or staff member on the part of any trainer, owner, rider, or groom will immediately disqualify any horse with which they are associated and all entry fees will be forfeited. No refunds will be made. Schooling- Schooling in the show rings without permission is prohibited at all times. Rings will be available for ticketed warm-up on Wednesday afternoon. The rings will also be available after the show for one hour each day and for limited schooling in the morning before the show. There will be no Schooling over fences in the morning. Gate personnel have the authority to scratch riders who do not follow directions. Management may restrict schooling if conditions warrant. Poling and Off-sets- Manual poling and the use of bamboo off-sets are prohibited for all horses competing. Any rider, trainer, groom, or other person involved with poling or offsetting will be subject to a $500 fine. Lunging- Lunging will be restricted to designated areas. There will be no lunging in show rings or schooling rings. Class Rules- Classes shall be conducted in accordance with the Sanctioning Association. Open classes will be conducted in accordance with USEF guidelines. Attire- Jackets will be worn for hunter and equitation classes. Tucked-in polo shirts can be worn in the jumper ring. For classics and medals, formal attire is required. In extremely warm conditions, for the safety of our competitors, jackets will be waived. Eligibility- Ponies and Junior Hunters must have a USEF measurement card to be presented at check-in. Three Minute Rule- The three-minute rule will be in effect at all times. Classes will be canceled if there is not a competitor in the ring within three minutes of the start of the time clock. Courtesy Circle- Management may restrict the courtesy circle with a mandatory dotted line. Holding Classes- Under no circumstances will a flat class or under saddle class be held for a trainer conflict, unless the conflict concerns the horse being in another ring. Equitation and jumper classes may, at management's discretion, follow a posted order of go. Management will designate priority rings daily. Hunter Courses- Courses shall simulate obstacles found in the hunt field such as coops, roll tops, natural rails, gates, walls, etc. All Hunter divisions will be held in accordance with USEF Rules and Zone 4 Specifications. Hunter Sections with less than four entries may be combined. Hunter Classes- Hunter classes shall be judged on performance, manner and soundness. Under saddle Classes shall be walk, trot and canter. Equitation Classes- Equitation classes shall be judged on seat, hands, guidance, and control of the horse. Jumper Classes- Courses may consist of any combination of brush, gates, coops, roll tops, oxers, post and rails, walls, water, etc. Classes will be judged on time. Ties- All ties involving first place will be jumped off. All ties not involving first place will be decided by time. Order of Go will be posted at least one hour prior To the start of the class. Declarations Must be made on the appropriate form in the show office the day before the class. Untimely declarations may require the horse to jump first in The order. Champion and Reserve Champion- To be awarded to the two horses with the most points in the division. Both will be awarded in classes in which at least three horses competed.
