1 SimAngus Bred Heifers Bred Replacement Females The selection for the bred females in our sale has changed immensely over the past 5 years. Just a few years ago, all of the bred heifers in our sale were the youngest or sort of the left-over heifers from the previous year that we held a couple months to breed for the sale. Not the case anymore. Due to our cow herd numbers growing from about 500 cows to 800 cows over the past 5 years, we now have enough numbers of heifer calves each year to supply our needed replacements, put around 100 in our sale as fall yearlings, and still reserve some very special heifers to breed a little later so they will be due shortly after sale time. Many of the bred females selling this year will fit comfortably in the very top end of any breeder s herd, some are true embryo donor potential, ranking in the top 1% of the breed in numerous traits. To add to the genetic excellence of this offering, we have bred them to some of the breed s most elite sires. In an effort to assure calving ease on the bred heifers, the five service sires, NIGHTRIDE, GRAD- UATE, AUGUSTUS, SLUGGER, and OFF BEAT, as a group average in the top 1% of the breed for CE. In an effort to assure top performance from our bred young cows, the three service sires, ROBUST, OMAHA, and ULTRASOUND, as a group average in the top 1% of the breed for WW and YW s. Those mating s are pushing the genetic bar about as far as it can be pushed, offering our customers some of the most elite genetics available in the industry today.
