2 Welcome to the Schepmann Angus Ranch! For over a century our family has enjoyed raising cattle in historic Ellsworth County, Kansas. Through generations, the cattle side of our operation has been the steady pillar which all aspects of our farm revolve around. Alongside our pasture acres most of our cultivated acres are rotationally planted to wheat, milo, sedan and cover crops with grazing purposes in mind for our true passion of developing quality replacement females. Each year we source some of the finest heifers in our region to develop alongside our own and breed them to the most reliable, cutting edge genetics available. We have worked very closely with leaders in the beef industry to ensure our offering of bred females have every advantage of becoming sound, long term producing females for our customers. Each year we strive to improve our program, and this year we have taken it even further by sexing each artificially inseminated unborn calf through ultrasound. We feel this has created the opportunity for our customers to know exactly what they are getting, and to help get their herd where they want it to be. Ted and his family have been developing replacement females for generations and have a large base of repeat customers. Because of the growing demand for Schepmann genetics, Ted thought the time was right to offer the entire group at auction. As herd expansion brings us into a new era of beef production, known quality will be more important than ever. From the source ranches, the herd health program, to the AI and natural sires selected, Ted Schepmann has done everything possible to bring you a quality set of heifers that will produce value to the beef industry for years to come. This is an incredible opportunity to add genetics to your herd that will capitalize on the future of the beef industry. The herd health program is overseen by the Animal Medical Center in Great Bend and the Lindsborg Vet Clinic. The heifers are grown to promote longevity and years of production. All of the heifers selling were synchronized and AI d to leading sires within the Angus, Hereford and Red Angus breeds. The heifers were ultrasounded for pregnancy and the AI bred heifers were fetal sexed in July. Ted spared no expense in purchasing the natural service sires, the quality of this group will rival the AI sires. Top end bulls were selected from some of the most progressive seedstock producers in Kansas with an emphasis placed on calving ease, docility and maternal production. He has a tremendous calving ease to growth spread, strong maternal traits, outstanding carcass merit, and documented feed efficiency genetics. He also possesses breed leading profitability indexes for both $B and $W, as well as being in the top 5% of the breed for docility. Cleaned up with Sire Group F, these heifers are due to start calving February 13th. KCF Bennett Absolute Angus Bred Heifers AI d to the exciting young Hereford AI sire, SHF Access Y90 A216 on May 9th. He has one of the top Calving Ease to Yearling Weight spreads within the Hereford breed, and posted huge ratios of 106 for IMF and 115 on REA. With his first 17 calves averaging 70 lbs for birth weight, this set of Black Baldie calves will make top replacement females. The last several years, I have visited with Ted and listened to his conviction and passion for the cattle business. One of the top maternal sires in the Red Angus breed, his calves are moderate, sound, wide based with great feet and dispositions. Ted stands behind his product and takes care of any problem. We experienced maintenance free calving with the females we purchased. They are outstanding mothers, with an easy handling disposition. The average weight of each of the 4 loads were within 4# of each other. Besides being very uniform, the heifers were problem free and had an easy to work with disposition. Ted Schepmann was very helpful and concerned with our success. He checked with us several times to see how we were getting along with calving. Show it to her once and she knows it. We own her older brother (Chico) and treasure him as our family horse as he is of the best we have ever had. This specific bloodline offered from the Jeffrey & Linda Janssen Ranch has proven to us to be of the most gentle and kind ranch horses you will ever find. Tootsie has spent the past year gathering cattle, dragging calves, has begun pasture roping and has been riddin by multiple people of all levels of experience. Skittles has been such an incredibly quick learner. Over logs, through the water, up and down hills, it just doesn t seem to matter with Skittles. He has been rode continually this past year and just seems to get better all the time. He has pushed cattle down the road, and out in the pastures. Nothing seems to spook him as he has had the bull whip cracked off of him and most recently Kelsey has been shooting a gun off of him.. Patches has got to be one of the most laid back and gentle horses we have had the opportunity to work with. Patches loves attention and always aims to please. He has neck reined from day 1 and has always remained calm. Patches has spent the past few months checking pastures and gathering cattle. He also has quite a few hours under the saddle sorting and penning cattle up in the lots. Stands good for the farrier, loads easy and will stand tied all day long. He has a ton of pasture miles on him gathering cattle and not much of anything spooks him. She s a smaller horse standing around 14.5 hh and is extremely smooth. She is very easy going, and has been used to teach young kids how to ride. For the past 3 years she has been the primary horse for a now 6 year old. She is a champ on the trail and has never had a problem crossing water or stepping over a log and doesn t startle easy.
