Get to know the story of a town which, at the height of its fame, hosted the most important of statesmen and artists, and remains one of Europe s most beautiful spa towns. It s hard to imagine that two centuries ago there was nothing here but a valley of inaccessible forest and bubbling swamps. However, when Johann Josef Nehr, a doctor from the nearby monastery in Teplá, proved the unique health-giving effects of the local springs, the spa town soon sprang up. The golf course complex, spread over 60 hectares, is partly situated in orchards. The oldest course in the Czech Republic was opened by King Edward VII on 21st August In 2003 HRH Elisabeth II granted the golf club the right to use the title Royal. The barrier-free trail starts at a wooden hunting lodge that serves as a boarding house and restaurant, and winds through meadows, forests and peat bogs around Kladská Pond. The gravel-strewn trail gradually turns into a boardwalk, where you will find several pleasant resting points along the way.
