2 I have been hunting and fishing with Stoney River 4 times over the last 2 years. My first trip was a Spring bear hunt-april 2009 I didn t score on that one primarily due to the weather. The 2nd trip was fishing in early July, 2009 I had a great time catching kings to 40 lbs and northern pike to 42 inches we also got char and rainbows. The 3rd trip was another Spring bear hunt in April 2010 we hunted hard for 13 days and got a 9 3 bear. The 4th trip was Sept 2010 I was able to get a nice 62 moose and a great caribou. I can t say enough regarding the lodge and hospitality shown me I have had 3 different guides who I rate top notch and very professional (I do 3-5 guided hunts a year and rate the guides and SRL among the top outfitters with which I have hunted). One thing that you must remember is that Alaska is very large and you do not find game under every bush you must be prepared to work for them you need to expect to walk for many miles over very brushy terrain also many hours on a spotting scope for the best hunting experience, you need to be in good physical condition...harlan Anderson Harlan Anderson took this bull when stalking his Caribou Favorite Canadian Dale Gregory and 64-inch Moose Just want to say Thank - you again Curly & Betty for a great trip etc. You people run a 1st class act. 4 Curly, your letter reminded me of how much fun we had on the trip. My comment on the Sheefish I caught is that catching a freshwater fish of that size on an 8 wt fly rod and having it jump at least half a dozen times was an unforgettable experience for me. My comment on Lesa s big pike and Sheefish is that she invariably catches larger fish than I do. I hope we can do it again. The experience of catching so many shee fish while 4 and 5 were jumping out of the water at the same time that we were pulling them in was a trip to remember always!
