3 AUGUST 17, A Great Birthday! On Grandmaster Willie Wilson s August 17 th birthday, he was presented his Ju Dan 10 th Degree Black Belt after 40 years in Sanuces Ryu Karate and 44 years in the martial arts. The Certificate was presented by Grandmaster Charles Allen and Grandmaster William Mason from an authentic certificate which had been left for this auspicious occasion by Professor Moses Powell. 6 AUGUST 17, 2017 (Continued) Promotion of Sensei Linda Wilson to Shichi Dan (7 th ) Degree Black Belt To make this event more exciting and memorable on Grandmaster Wilson's birthday, Grandmaster Maurice Msarsa presented Master Linda Wilson with her Shichi Dan ( 7th ) Degree Black Belt promotion. Sensei Linda has 44 years in martial arts. Karate Five wants everyone to know how appreciative their organization is for their encouragement and continued support. BACK-TO-SCHOOL AT KARATE FIVE DOJO As part of Karate Five's 2017 Back-to-School Program; brand new backpacks and supplies are distributed to the Karate Five students. Each student selected a backpack filled with supplies. JUNE 20, 2017 Young Melbert Lee III (pictured below) was presented his orange belt and certificate by his Dad and Granddaddy. It was a very special occasion for Sensei Melbert Lee Jr. to make this presentation to his son, Mel.

15 MAY 4, 2017 Grandmaster Willie Wilson and Karate Five welcomed back Grandmaster Maurice Msarsa at the dojo to present Kenneth "Slim" Jenkins his (3 rd ) Degree Black Belt certificate. Slim is a good student and loves the art. A well-deserved promotion. Congratulations to Slim and thank you, Grandmaster Msarsa! APRIL 29, 2017 Grandmaster Willie Wilson and Karate Five had a great time at Kelly's Heroes Classics in Rogersville. It was a well-run, organized tournament. K-5 students participated in all divisions and the school brought home 45 trophies from 1st to 4th places. We want to thank Sensei Melbert Lee Jr., Sensei Linda Wilson and Instructor Lee Sloan for help judging the tournament rings. We thank Grandmaster Willie Wilson for just judging and being the center judge in the Grand Championship. A job well done by everyone!

17 APRIL 24, 2017 Congratulations to Richard Pfister who was promoted to Orange Belt and Giana Dickerson's promotion to Blue Belt! Sensei Linda Wilson and Sensei Melbert Lee Jr. presented Richard with his orange belt who has worked very hard to earn his promotion. Although Giana's promotion was delayed from last year as she struggled with an attitude problem, this year Giana has proven herself to her Karate Five peers that she has really changed and become a better martial artist. Karate Five is proud of these two students' progress and success. 18 FEBRUARY 25, 2017 Karate Five participated in the Jerry Lewis 9th Annual Cross Roads Karate Games on February 25th. It was a great tournament all because Jerry Lewis believes in everyone being treated fairly. Our students participated in weapons kata, kata forms and kumite. They all did great in each category and placed in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. Karate Five students received a total of 32 awards. We all had fun as well as the parents and friends who supported us. Congratulations Karate Five students!

19 FEBRUARY 25, 2017 (Continued) FEBRUARY 20, 2017 February 20, Sensei Melbert Lee Jr. and Sensei Linda Wilson presented orange belts to Sydnei McAllister and Jeremiah King. These two students have worked very hard to earn their promotions. Karate Five student promotions are "earned" and are not freely given. Their parents were present for the promotions and were as proud as we are of these students' accomplishments and their dedication. Congratulations Jeremiah and Sydnei!
