1 Taekwon-Do Explosion 2014 By Hay harris & Stuart Anslow Taekwon-Do Explosion is a name given to a small tournament run by Mr Hay Harris, 6th degree and Mr Stuart Anslow, 5th degree. The aim of the tournament is to provide a truly friendly competition, that is fun to compete in, has decent trophies to win for those that work hard and provide a little bit of a difference to the standard competition divisions. This year we flipped the event on its head, especially for the black belts! All sparring, for all grades and ages was Points Sparring instead of Continuous Sparring. In Patterns, Black Belts had to perform a randomly selected Kup grade pattern, to progress to the 2nd round, where they got to perform any black belt grade pattern. This years Special Technique for Black belts was Twin Flying Front Snap Kick. We also held a King of Speed & Precision event at the end of the day, that was balanced so men, women, kup grades and dan grades could also compete on an equal basis over a number of rounds - amongst other rounds, some of them involved performing a blind folded pattern! The whole tournament produced some superb performances, showing that many can step up to the challenges when Totally Tae Kwon Do - 123

2 presented and so do not need to necessarily do the same thing competition after competition! Mr Anslow already described why out event is quite different to many others in his report of last years event (in the January, 2014 issue of Totally Tae kwon Do magazine, so I won t rewrite it all again and instead, congratulate and list the medallist and leave you some cool photos of the event. Many thanks to all the officials and helpers that assisted us at the event during the day, so it all ran smoothly, despite all the stuff we fitted in! Totally Tae Kwon Do
