2 Long Track All skaters are encouraged to do both ST and LT Mass start and Olympic style racing Outdoor skating on 400m oval at Brewer Park Pacers have a contract with the city (and responsibility) to build and manage the oval

3 Pacers Long Track Training Schedule When ice is available, Pacers will run 4-5 practices per week, plus Sat a.m. time trials Heated hut at Brewer Oval, dedicated to speed skaters 2018 dates, weather and ice conditions permitting: Advanced skaters: Mon-Thurs: 7-8:30 p.m. Junior skaters Wed 6-7 p.m. Sat 9-10 a.m. Time trials, open to all Sat a.m., informal opportunity gain racing experience Partnership with Gloucester Concordes Pacers coaching: Cheryl, Oliver, Nancy, Bob

5 Equipment: Dress for the Weather!! Layers, breathable Ski goggles, balaclava or buff as needed Overboots for skates Sailboard neoprene booties provide a cost effective solution Ski helmet as alternative to skating helmet (latter is needed for races though) Use the hut! Races: Good hard warm-up Avoid long time on-track before race Time your on-ice warmup and arrival at start according to race duration Tear away warm up pants and jacket: Deposit at start
