1 The Full throttle SEA Newsletter Fall 2013 Issue 1 Welcome to the newest addition to the SEA Racing Family s attempt at bringing you the latest updates, race reports, a devotional message from Red, photos, and upcoming events for the season. We will have at least one edition a month with possibly more depending on the race schedule. If you would like to contribute any information relating to SEA that the members need to know, please let me know and I ll be glad to add it on our tidbit page. This newsletter will be strictly online with no mail outs at this time. If you find any information that is included to be wrong, also, please contact me so it can be corrected. I hope everyone enjoys this new project and has a great season. SEA Keeping the ross in the enter of it all... Season Opener at the hicken House Record setting number of competitors Just enough rain came thru arter ountry on Friday evening to make the dirt as close to perfect as possible for the last day of August and the first race for the 2014 season. The sign up table was busy from the time it opened until race time with the crew, Debbie McLeroy, Hallie opeland, Jackie Alexander and aitlin Vaughn having everything in order and under control. The Kids classes had a record number of participants with 43 entered for the different classes. The first race was held with the start adjacent to the barn in the back side of the field with the lads and lasses racing for 20 minutes on a one mile course. The leaders completed 5 laps with 7 finishing on the lead lap. There were 23 for this younger group of racers and they all did a fantastic job on the trails. The course was a little technical for the 50 s to handle and there was plenty of workers scattered about to get them all thru it just fine. Walker Alexander claimed the Overall win followed closely by hris Harris and Kyle Alexander. Several first time contenders showed up at this one and it made for a very exciting season opener for the youngsters. Pearce Yeargan has been play riding for about a year but has practiced daily for quite a while now and it showed big time...he finished 6th overall out of the 23 and this young lad turned 5 this summer. Two other newcomers finished 2nd and 3rd in this new class of Tadpoles and they are first cousins, Ensign Payne and Trace Payne. The older group of kids and girls started in the middle of the field and made their way around the grass track to go into the woods at the same spot as the previous classes. Their course was 4 miles long and the leaders completed 4 laps in the 45 minute race. 13 out of 20 finished on the lead lap. Ethan Gregg claimed the Overall spot on the podium followed by Juddson Raia and Landon Moore. Halli Melton claimed the holeshot and led at the checkered flag but it didn t come easily. Once over the handlebars wasn t enough to keep her from hauling the mail and prevailing in the heat and humidity that descended upon the field that morning. Kallie Donovan and andice Roper battled it out the entire race swapping up positions with Donovan finishing less than a minute ahead of Roper. Halie Martin and Hanna Martin started a little sibling rivalry finishing 1 and 2 in the new Ponytail class for girls. Great job by all participants..

2 Feathers were flying at the chicken house!! August 31 had to be the hottest Saturday of all of 2013 and the competition that turned out for this event was even hotter an all time high for competitors for a main event of SEA - turned out and put on a fantastic season opener. The crew of the hicken House, mainly Landon arter, had everything in order and the season got kicked off with fireworks and the grandest of National Anthems. Delina Lenoir, the local church s Song Director, could be heard high on the hills practicing during the kids event and I knew we were in for a great day. At the end of the song, bikes were cranked and it was absolutely awesome. Then, when we are accustomed to having the quiet before the storm, the loud speakers broke out with We Will Rock You and the green flag was thrown. Red said it messed him up because he couldn t hear his bike.(excuses)...lol Tyler arter grabbed the holeshot in moto 1 with liff Ousley breathing down his neck. By the time they came back thru the pasture to cross the ditch, arter and Ousley had pretty much set themselves apart from the rest of the X1 class. By the end of the moto Ousley had stretched his lead to 1:10 ahead of arter. Tanner Mcoy finished 3rd within the same minute as arter. Moto 2 would be a little different with baby brother Neal Ousley chasing arter into the woods for the holeshot. By the end of the day, arter dnf ed, while liff Ousley was battling with Tanner Mcoy for the last half of the moto. Ousley came out on top of the field for the day going 1-1. Mcoy was 2nd, going 3-2 and Hunter Hutchinson claimed the final spot on the podium going 6-3. Hutchinson and Neal Ousley tied in points with a 9 but that second moto tie breaker gave the spot to Hutchinson. Rounding out the top 10 were Red Alexander, Micah Seale, Kyler Godwin (Overall B), Trent Whisenant, Mark Lewis and hase Peeler. Wayne Raia came away from the hicken House with his first ever win and he was blasting thru the course like a man on a mission. Jamie Marsh and Jessie Davis rounded out the podium. Vet guys had better be practicing. handler raig, Ethan Greve, and onnor Barrett finished 1,2,3 in the Jr. lass and it was the first time for the guys to ride the adult races. 4 SEA Family Tidbits This is a section of the newsletter that is open for information that you would like to submit for sharing with everyone. Such things as prayer requests, special birthdays, anniversaries, deaths, or anything you would like to add. At this time I would like to ask everyone to remember our friend Jesse Howard as he is in Baltimore (as of Tuesday, Sept. 3) to see a specialist. Jesse has suffered greatly with this broken femur and the healing process has not been pleasurable at all. Please remember Jesse, Robyn and their family. We have now formed a downed rider fund and it will be named the Family Fund. We have a committee that includes Wayne Raia, Johnny rane, Mike Land, Debbie Barr and Kim DeLoach. Red and Stick will have the final say in the decisions made as to how to handle the requests for help. Donations may be made by just giving to any of the committee members and we will forward it on to the SEA account. Red says he would rather not have everyone going to him because he has so much going on. Right now we have set aside and hoping for a little help from everyone able. A dollar goes a long way when there a lot of people who participate. We may try to set up a jar or box at each event to help encourage your generosity. Please feel free to inform any committee member of any need that arises amongst our SEA family. September 14-Stony Lonesome, Bremen September 28-The Halawakee, Opelika A Word from the President.. Round One Round one of our New Season got off to a great start. One thing we all love about a New Season is that last season doesn't matter anymore. Maybe last season didn't go as well as you had hoped for due to mistakes, crashes, breakdowns, bad starts, lack of focus or ending up stuck in a mud hole. One bad race can ruin your season and can be costly in the overall score. As I reflect back on my season, I can remember the mistakes that quickly moved me from 2nd to 6th overall. The beauty of our New Season is that it's in the past and the results and points don't matter anymore. The slate has been wiped clean! 2 or 5:17 says that if anyone is in hrist that he/she is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. That's good news! But unfortunately many of us struggle with our past mistakes and failures. Satan wants us to live a life of condemnation by constantly reminding us of our past. Scripture tells us in both Jer 31:34 and Heb 8:12 that through the New ovenant of Grace, brought to us by the blood of Jesus, that God remembers our sins no more. Where our sin abounds, Grace much more abounds. If God doesn't remember, then why do we? Just like the New Season that started at the hicken House, many of us need to start a New Season in life. I want to encourage you to put the past behind you and press forward into the plan and purpose God has for your life. Start a New Season with hrist today.
