3 Balmain and Allan Trophy Best Overall Performing Boat in the Twilight Fleet. The Balmain and Allan Trophy was donated by local grocers Balmain and Allan who had a shop on Greenwich Road. The inaugural winner in 1926 was the 12ft skiff Sydney, Billy Barnett. By winning the trophy twice in succession in and , Cromdale, Laurie Mitchell won the trophy outright. It was returned to the club in the early nineties and since then has been awarded to the best performing boat in the Twilight Fleet. Balmain and Allan Trophy winner is determined by a weighted score on the basis of fleet sizes for the best overall performing boat in the Twilight Fleet. This trophy was donated by Bob Campbell-Burns, past club President ( ) and is correctly named after his Thunderbird yacht Greenwitch. It is awarded to a yacht which has defied a changing handicap throughout the season and has continued to gain handicap places. It was first awarded in the season jointly to Julie, J Gilfillan and Lenore L Henry. Greenwitch Yardstick Trophy is determined by subtracting each yacht s lowest handicap in the Spring and Autumn Saturday Series from the yacht s next handicap and then multiplying the result by the yacht s score after discards in the Overall Series and a p factor for weighting divisions based on the average fleet sizes (see Balmain and Allan and Mick York p factor calculations. The Down Harbour series is open to both Twilight and Saturday Keelboats.
