1 ALL RIDERS OF ALL GRADING Rd 1 Ravenshoe Rd 2 Tully Rd 3 Cairns Rd 4 Mareeba & Presentation 7 & 8 October 14 & 15 October 21 & 22 October 28 & 29 October The FNQ Development Series which has now run for the last 3 years & has been very successful, is the idea of all 4 clubs wanting to give our local riders the opportunity to development their riding skills. This series is for ALL RIDERS of ALL GRADING. Classes will be raced as per usual, but the difference is the scoring will be split into Axle & Chain groups. Trophies are on offer for the top 3 positions for both groups per race if min six riders in the class. Groups are decided upon your competency as a racer and previous years placing and novice riders COACHING As part of this FNQ Development Series, we have been lucky enough to have Glenn Macdonald from MACA COACHING returning to do these events again he received an overwhelming response in the last few years & I believe he will again. MACA will be coaching on the Saturday of each round for $65 per person. The Saturday coaching will be split into morning/afternoon sessions and it s highly recommended that bookings be made in advanced. Please check prior to the event to make sure you know which session you are in contact Noela on You can book1 round of coaching or the full series. ANNOUNCEMENT: The FAR NORTH QLD MOTORCYCLE Clubs, listed above hereafter called the PROMOTERS will conduct a Interclub Series of 4 rounds being the 2017 KTM FNQ Development Motocross Series for Seniors riders Lites, Open, Vets, Masters & Women's classes and Junior riders in Junior Lites, Mini Lites, 65cc & 50cc classes. 2. JURISDICTION: The above mentioned series has been authorised by MQ who have issued the Motorcycling Australia Permit Numbers (as listed above and is open to holders of current Motorcycling Australia National, Mini and One Meeting Licences (OML) to junior riders if they hold a current JCP Log Book), who are full financial members of one of the Promoting Clubs (no discount or one day memberships are allowed) The meeting will be held in accordance with the current Manual of Motorcycle Sport General Competition Rules (GCR s), these Supplementary Regulations, and any Final Instructions approved by MQ. BY ENTERING THIS MEETING ALL PARTIES AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES, REGULATIONS, BY-LAWS AND INSTRUCTIONS. 3. ENTRIES: Entries open forthwith and will be accepted up until 2 week prior to the event at a DISCOUNTED RATE after this entries increases as it gets closer to the event. Pre nominations are required for each event, so that Coaching can be selected & these riders can be notified so they can be at the track on the Saturday & Volunteer Roster can be drawn up and posted at sign on. You will be required to pay with the Nomination forms, however you will be required to sign in on the day. You will check the Volunteer Roster and record when your volunteer is required. In the case of postponement or abandonment of the meeting, all or any part of the entry fee may be retained by the Club if such retention is approved by MQ Only entries received on the official Entry Form that are accompanied by the correct fee will be accepted. 3.4 Early Bird Discounts will apply of $20.00 if you get your pre nominations in 2 week prior to the event or Pay Series 2 week before of Rnd 1 Ravenshoe & get a further discount - Series $120, Junior & $ INSURANCE: 4.1 National Personal Accident Scheme provides basic cover for death and permanent disability. 4.2 Ambulance Insurance is compulsory for licensees. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT COMPETITORS GIVE CONSIDERATION TO TAKING OUT WEEKLY BENEFITS INSURANCE.
3 5. MEDICAL SERVICES: The St John s Ambulance, QAS or Rescue 1 will be available from start of practice until 15 minutes after the completion of racing on Sunday. 6. ENTRIES TO CONSTITUTE A CLASS: To constitute a Class, the number of contestants entered and competing in each Class shall be SIX Should there be insufficient entries in any Class of Competition, the decision to run or cancel the Class, or to combine events and re-distribute any awards, will be at the discretion of the club, subject to MQ approval. 12. MACHINES AND RIDERS: All machines entered must comply with the current GCR s for Motocross Competition. Multiple entry of the one Machine in the same Class of Competition is not permitted. Change of Machine will be allowed during the competition as per the current GCR s. Change of machine must be submitted in writing to the Clerk of Course at least ten (10) minutes prior to the start of the event in which the substitution is requested. The substitute machine must have passed machine examination and be eligible for the correct class 13.1 Helmets are mandatory. All persons including officials using any bike, trike or quad at an event must be wearing a properly secured helmet. 14. RIDING NUMBERS: Wherever possible, competitors will be allocated their Registered Riding Number. All others will be allocated numbers at the Club s discretion. All Number Plates on all Machines MUST comply with the GCR s Back Numbers: all competitors must wear a legible numbers on their back in contrasting colours. Any rider Junior or Senior that does not display an approved back number whilst competing MAY NOT be awarded points for that race. Back numbers MUST correspond to the bike number 15. GRIDPOSITIONS: TBA 16. RIDERS BRIEFING: Riders Briefing will be held prior to the commencement of racing and ALL Competitors MUST attend the Riders Briefing. Riders Briefing is a NON Smoking area.

DRUG AND OR ALCOHOL TESTING: 17.1 All competitors and officials are advised that as part of the MA drug education program, drug testing may take place at any competition in accordance with Australian Sports Commission policy as implemented by the Australian Sports Drug Agency If any doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors telephone the Drugs in Sport Hotline When drug testing takes place, the payment of prize money may be delayed at MQ discretion until the results of the tests are known. 18. CODE OF CONDUCT: All Competitors, Officials and Parents are reminded of the Motorcycling Australia By-Law - CODE OF CONDUCT (as stipulated in the GCR s) which is a guide to appropriate behavior at all Motorcycle Race Meetings. This CODE OF CONDUCT applies to this Meeting and will be enforced. 19. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA All competitors, officials, and parents are reminded of MA s Electronic Communications and Social Media Policy, found at which sets out a framework for acceptable online behaviour where communications involve fellow MA members, volunteers, officials, coaches, sponsors, partners, staff and any other connected persons. 20. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION: manmade obstacles or natural terrain TRACK INSPECTION: 21.1 All competitors will be given the opportunity to walk and inspect the track prior to any on track participation This inspection must be done on foot and competitors are reminded that service vehicles may be in operation on the circuit at this time Track Dissatisfaction Competitors who are not satisfied with any aspects of the track can present these concerns to the Clerk of Course if those concerns cannot be resolved, the competitor will be invited to withdraw from the meeting. 22. STARTS: All starts min 30 Backwards falling gates A 15/5 board will be used with the gate dropping a minimum of 5 seconds after the 5 second signal is displayed 23. RACING: Practice will be 3 laps for seniors and juniors some classes may be combined, 1st lap will be under waved yellow flag. Race times will be as per 11& 18. The maximum number of riders to practice will be 125% of the number of start gates. 24. NOISE: 24.1 Generators- will be required to be turned off by 10pm each night until 6am in the morning. Unless promoting club have a generator area allocated. Please contact promoting clubs on this issue Random Sound Testing will be conducted as per current GCRs. All machines must comply with the current MOM s for Sound emissions. Testing may be undertaken at any time throughout the event. Penalties or exclusions may be applied for machines which do not comply. It is suggested that all competitors be prepared to adjust/replace exhausts systems that do not comply. 25. VOLUNTEERS All participants are required to supply a volunteer at the KTM FNQ Development MX Series. We thank you for your offer to help. 5 26. GUARDIANSHIP FORMS Riders 18 years and under must have a guardianship form signed by their parents or guardians if not accompanied by them on the day of racing. If this form is not filled out and handed in at sign on, that rider will not be riding-no exceptions 27. SPECIAL NOTES AND WARNINGS: 27.1 GST: The Goods and Services Tax affect the payment of prize money. If you do not provide an ABN or declare the sport is a hobby, the Promoter must withhold 48.5% of prize money over $ which is otherwise payable to you. Please tick one of the boxes on the entry form and if appropriate provide your ABN to ensure full amount is paid to you The Series Race secretary will receive from the promoters for each round $ 5.00 per rider for all riders competing The age of junior competitors will be aged as at 1 st January. Competitors may choose to move up an age group after their birthday but cannot take any points with them to the higher age group Depending on entries, some junior classes maybe combined but scored separately Chain classes are for Novice (Beginners class) riders only. Riders who placed 1 st to 3 rd in the previous year s Series or closed to Club series must ride in the Axle Grade class. If required, riders may be moved to Axle class prior to racing at discretion of the Race Secretary in conjunction with the promoting clubs. This will be assessed by level of experience and ability Series Nominations are encouraged and only 1 entry form is required. If nominating rounds individually, separate entries will need to be filled in for the respective rounds Verification of conditions of refunds/transfers: Transfers/Refunds of riders not able to attend can be made if Race Secretary is notified by the Wednesday before the event. After this it is up to the discretion of the promoting clubs on the day. If no notification at all is given to the race secretary, no refund will be given unless a medical certificate is supplied. A $5.00 administration fee will be deducted from all refunds cc 2/ can only be ridden in senior QMX2 class - NOT in QMX1 class 27.9 Presentation will take place under Clubhouse/canteen after racing & scoring is complete Rounds of the 4 round series must be run to be eligible for the overall trophy Presentation Canteen facilities have food and drinks available. Hot and cold shower facilities at most clubs as well as camping available Racing for the Series: All the 4 clubs & their volunteers are putting in a huge effort so that the KTM FNQ Development Series Riders can have the whole weekend at the club. Track preparation is huge when doing a full weekend so please thank all the clubs for their enormous efforts they are putting in. You can pay for the SERIES $120 Junior & $200 but must be paid in full by FRIDAY 22nd September. This is the cheapest way or EARLY BIRD price pay 2 w e e k s Wednesday before each event $35. Junior & $55. After Wednesday 2 w e e k s b e f o r e e a c h r o u n d $ 55. & Junior & $ Coaching for the series: Glenn Macdonald of MACA Coaching has made a huge commitment to Far North QLD riders Development. This is a very unique opportunity to have one of Australia s most successful coaches guide your riders development throughout a full race series. Places are limited. Discount of $15.00 per round on series coaching if booked & paid by the 8th September. This is fantastic! Glenn Macdonald will be coaching on the Saturday of each round for $65.00 per rider. The Saturday coaching will be split into morning & afternoon sessions & it's highly recommended that you book in advance. You can book 1 or 2 rounds of coaching or the full series. An early Bird discount for the series booked & paid for by 8th September will cost $200. That is $15. per round cheaper! Tear offs are banned for all off-road related disciplines, only the roll offs are able to be used. This may change for some or all venues, if the club/s have a MA approved Environmental Plan that permits the use of tear-offs Helmet cameras are not permitted unless the camera is integrated into the helmet, by design of the manufacturer. cameras maybe fitted to the motorcycle provided they are securely mounted. Camera mounts are subject to approval by the chief scrutineer Cancellation-Competitors will be notified by 5pm Friday before the event VIA Facebook - FNQ Development MX Series & Promoting Club page. An announcement made at 5pm does not mean there will not be any later announcements cancelling the event due to the information at hand as at that day & time, however further rainfall is experienced overnight making the circuit unusable Saturday or Sunday morning requiring the event to be cancelled at that time. The onus is placed on the competitor to remain up to date with the event information. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS, DANGERS & OBLIGATIONS IACKNOWLEDGE that: a) motorcycle sport is dangerous and that by engaging in the sport (whether as a competitor, recreational rider, coach, official or media) at the Meeting I take and am exposed to certain risks and dangers and am under certain obligations as follows: i) that I may be injured, physically or mentally, and maybe killed; ii) that my machinery or equipment may be damaged, lost or destroyed; iii) tha tcompetitors may ride dangerously or with a lack of skill; iv) that track or event conditions may be hazardous and may vary without warning or predictability; v) that organisers, officials, landowners/track operators and any agents or representatives of those in charge of meetings are frequently obliged to make decisions under pressure of time/or events; vi) that any policy of insurance of or in respect of my life or physical or mental health may be voided; vii) that there may be no or inadequate facilities for treatment or transport of me if I am injured; vii) that I have an obligation to myself and to others to act safely and within the rules and regulations of MA; b) the Indemnitees do not make any warranty that the services at the Meeting will be provided with due care and skill or that any materials provided in connection with the services will be fit for the purpose for which they are supplied; c) to the extent that any warranty is implied it is excluded to the full extent permitted by law; d) have voluntarily read and understood this warning and accept and assume the inherent risks in participating in the Event. 4. WARNING UNDER THE FAIR TRADING ACT 1999 (VIC) Under the provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1999 (Vic) several conditions are implied into contracts for the supply of certain goods and services. These conditions mean that the supplier named on this form is required to ensure that the recreational services it supplies to you are: - rendered with due care and skill; - as fit for the purpose for which they are commonly bought as it is reasonable to expect in the circumstances; and - reasonably fit for any particular purpose or might reasonably be expected to achieve any result you have made known to the supplier. Under section 32N of the Fair Trading Act 1999, the supplier is entitled to ask you to agree that these conditions do not apply to you. If you sign this form, you will be agreeing that your rights to sue the supplier under the Fair Trading Act 1999 if you are killed or injured because the services were not rendered with due care and skill or they were not reasonably fit for their purpose, are excluded, restricted or modified in the way set out in this form. NOTE: The change to your rights, as set out in this form, does not apply if your death or injury is due to gross negligence on the supplier's part. "Gross negligence" is defined in the Fair Trading (Recreational Services) Regulations For the purposes of the clause 3, the Supplier shall mean and include the Indemnitees. 5. INDEMNITY AND RELEASE GIVEN TO ORGANISERS IN CONSIDERATION of the acceptance of me as a participant in the Meeting: a) I AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND KEEP INDEMNIFIED to the full extent permitted by law the Indemnitees and each of them in the following manner: i) that I participate in the meeting at my sole risk and responsibility; ii) that I accept the Venue as it stands with all or any defects hidden or exposed; iii) that I indemnify and hold harmless the Indemnitees, their respective servants, agents, officials and competitors against any actions, costs, losses or claims which may be made by me or on my behalf for or in respect of or arising out of my death or any injury loss or damage caused to me or my equipment whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any other manner whatsoever. b) I AGREE TO RELEASE to the full extent permitted by law the Indemnitees and each of them from all liability to me for any claim, loss, damage, cost or expense (whether arising under statute, from negligence, personal injury, psychological trauma, death, property damage or infringement of third party rights or otherwise) that arises as a result of any act, matter or thing done, permitted or omitted to be done by me or which is in any way connected with my presence at or involvement in the Event. c) The release and indemnity provided by me in this declaration is in addition to, and will not in any way limit the application of, the conditions of sale attaching to tickets, conditions of entry, conditions of credentials or any other applicable terms or conditions in respect of the Event. d) A term of this release and indemnity will not apply where the term contravenes the law of the relevant jurisdiction under which any legal action is legitimately taken however such terms are severable and do not invalidate the remaining terms. 6. MEDICAL I declare that I am and must continue to be medically and physically fit and able to participate in the Meeting. I will immediately notify MA in writing via my SCB of any change to my fitness and ability to participate. I understand and accept the Indemnitees will continue to rely upon this declaration as evidence of my fitness and ability to participate. I acknowledge and agree that if required, the Indemnitees (or any of them) may arrange medical or hospital treatment (including ambulance transportation) for me. I authorise such actions being taken by the Indemnitees and agree to meet all costs associated with such action. I understand it is compulsory for me to have ambulance insurance in some form and I accept responsibility for the cost of ambulance transportation, ambulance cover and further agree to maintain ambulance cover during the term of my license / membership. 7. PRIVACY I hereby consent to the collection of my personal information by the Promoter/Event Organiser, MA and the SCB in connection with my involvement at the Event and the use and disclosure of my personal information by Event Organiser, and MA to other agencies and officials associated with the Event for the purposes of conducting and managing the Event. I understand that I may gain access to my personal information held by contacting MA at 147 Montague St, South Melbourne, Victoria, I understand that if I do not provide the personal information requested above that I may not be permitted to participate in the Event. 8. PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION I hereby agree with MA and the SCB that in consideration for my participation in the Event that MA and the SCB may receive, collect, store and use personal health information about me in the manner set out below: a) I ACKNOWLEDGE that: i) If I am injured, become ill or die at or following the Event the party listed at Item 8 in Schedule 1 in addition to any hospital at which I am treated (together my Carers ) will have health related information about me in their possession, power and control relating to me which is subject to obligations imposed by the Privacy Act ( my Information ) and the Privacy Act is intended to protect my personal information; ii) MA and my SCB wish to collect my Information for purposes that include their risk management programs, evaluating and improving the safety of MA and SCB events and of the Meeting organisers and facility providers of MA / SCB permitted events, and generally to reduce the risks to persons engaged in motorcycle sport; and iii) Itis reason able for MA and my SC B to collect,store, use and disclosemy Information in accordance with clause 11(a)(i) above and in the manner set out in clause 11(b). b) IN CONSIDERATION of my acceptance as an entrant in the Meeting I consent and agree that MA and my SCB: i) may collect and store any of my Information, including obtain my Information from third parties including my Carers; ii) may use any information collected in accordance with this clause for any purpose consistent with creating safer competition in motorcycle sport and events held by or in conjunction with MA, my SCB, or with an MA or SCB permit; iii) may disclose my Information to third parties provided such disclosure is reasonably intended to be used for the purpose of improving safety at events held by or in conjunction with MA, or with an MA permit provided any such information is held by MA or my SCB in accordance with the MA Privacy Policy. c) I irrevocably authorise MA and my SCB and hereby appoint MA and my SCB as my lawful attorneys to collect from my Carers, and I here by direct my Carers to provide to MA or my SCB upon request being made by MA or my SCB, any of my Information including but not limited to any information concerning any incident or event causing or contributing to or resulting from any injury, illness or death to me, the details of any diagnosis and prognosis provided to me by my Carers (or any party with the knowledge of any of my Carers), and any other matter to the knowledge of my Carers that might reasonably be considered to be requested by MA or my SCB for the purpose of improving safety at MA and SCB events. 9. POLICIES AND REGULATIONS a) I acknowledge, understand and agree that it is a condition of my participation in the Event that I agree to be bound by, and subject to, the rules, regulations and jurisdiction of MA as amended from time to time. Copies of all MA rules, policies and regulations are available by contacting the MA office. b) All participants are bound by the MA anti doping policy and thus understand they may be subject to drug testing. Testing conducted by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) is in accordance with the ASADA Act and the National Ant-Doping Scheme. This involves the taking of a sample (any human biological fluid or tissue whether alive or otherwise, or any human breath) for the purpose of detecting the use of a Prohibited Drug or Doping Method. Any participant infringing MA s policy or refusing a drug test may be disqualified or otherwise dealt with in accordance with the terms of the anti-doping policy. 10. RIGHT TO USE IMAGE Right to Use Image: I acknowledge and consent ot Photographs and electronic images (including, but not limited to, moving images) being taken of me during my participation in the Event. I acknowledge and agree that such photographs and electronic images are owned by (organisation) and it may use the photographs and electronic images for promotional or other purposes without my further consent being necessary.
