Now the new regional league eaon i well underway, we have a lot to tell you! National Succe for Back to Netball We aked you all to vote and you all voted! It i with great pleaure that we can announce that England Netball Back to Netball project recently won a National Lottery community award. The award wa voted for by the public, which make it even more pecial, a it jut goe to how that the hard work and dedication to the project ha rubbed off on thoe who attend and participate in the programme. The award wa preented to a group of Back to Netballer in Mancheter by Great Britain very own national treaure; Sir Chri Hoy The man himelf even took part in a pot of netball, although we re hearing he hould tick to hi day job! England Netball would like to thank everyone for their vote, a well a thanking thoe who participated in the project and thoe who make it the ucce it i. 3 Succe for the North Eat at the 2012 National den Globe. With thi year Regional den Globe proving a big hit, it wa now the turn of the National Team to deliver a dazzling pectacular, and that i what they did. Held in Birmingham on September 22nd, to coincide with the England International Tet erie againt Barbado. The theme of the event wa Bet Of Britih, which wa extremely fitting after thi incredible year for the country. However it wan't jut the event and the etting, and the theme, there wa alo award to win. And 2012 proved to be a great year for the North Eat. Coming away from the event with two award fro two very deerving volunteer within the region. Following on from her North Eat Regional Award, Iri Riton left the National den Globe award clutching on to a well-deerved official award, which i given to a volunteer who ha worked tirelely within the field of officiating. Iri i tetament to thi, having dedicated year of ervice to umpiring and mentoring. She ha helped to develop and progre the official of the future, and ha alway dine thi with uch care, determination and paion. Not only wa he rewarded for her hard work with thi award, but he wa alo elected to be a table official at the International Match againt Barbado at the Englih Intitute of port in Sheffield.. Iri i a very worthy winner of thi award, and we know he will continue with all the hard work! Iri wa not the only North Eat winner on the night, Wanbeck Netball Club very own Bernie Bell took home the Murial Mcnally award which i given to a volunteer who ha excelled and gone above and beyond the caue of duty in order to develop netball within their region. Bernie ha been doing thi for numerou year, having helped to etablih Wanbeck Netball Club in She dedicate her time to enuring the club run moothly, i financial table, and alo enure that player progre from junior level all the way through to enior level. Ak anybody at Wanbeck jut how much Bernie mean to them. No one ha a bad word to ay! Congratulation to both on their outtanding achievement!

4 South Durham and Cleveland Netball Development Officer; Becky Robinon ha been Working alongide Bede College of Billingham a he managed to ecure a erie of Sportivate funding for them to be able to have 8 netball eion delivered at the college. Previou to the funding and previou to Becky aitance, the college had, had no previou aociation with netball. The eion have been delivered by one of the North Eat own coache; Marie Lithgo. Since the eion finihed, the college have been keen to continue with participation in netball, and have therefore etablihed their own college netball team and are now competing in the Britih College North Eat League. Congratulation to all involved in creating another utainable and developing college netball team in the North Eat. To find out more about Sportivate pleae check out the Sport England webite; Northumberland Sport held their workplace challenge at Sport Central on November 24th. Thi wa a chance for people to try out new port and learn a little bit more about new game and opportunitie in port. In total 52 participant took part, and mot of them wanted to have a go at netball! Northumberland Netball Development Joan Campbell delivered 9 netball eion over the coure of the day. The eion were run in a variety of different way. Some participant undertook the traditional 7 aide approach to Netball, while other tried the High 5 verion. Each team alo took part in a hooting competition which wa won by ; Jut Learning. All in all everyone really enjoyed their netball tater and Joan i now trying to encourage people to do a Back to Netball eion!!

5 On December 17th 2012, England Netball heard the announcement that everyone had waited for with baited breath. It wa time for Sport England to announce their funding for individual port over the next 4 year. We are delighted to announce that not only have England Netball maintained the level of funding they have received in the pat 4 year, but they have alo ignificantly increaed it! Thee are exciting time for England Netball following Sport England` confirmation that they will invet 25.3m in the port over the next four year repreenting a 35% increae on their 2009/13 Whole Sport Plan invetment. Paul Clark, Chief Executive of England Netball, i delighted; he aid Thi i brilliant new. Our ucce ha been a a reult of a new innovative approach we have adopted that put the netballer at the centre of everything we do. We have tarted to develop different initiative and product that fit with what player want, whether they are returning to the port or looking to be England player of the future. We know that it i important that playing netball fit with player lifetyle o that netball i a port for life! Overall thi i a maive achievement for England Netball and one that will be filtered down to all region acro the country including the North Eat. It i a very exciting time to be involved in the port and we are very much looking forward to tarting the Whole Sport Plan in April. Reigning FatNet and NSL Champion Mancheter Thunder will play hot to the 2013 event on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th January. Ticket for the competition are on ale NOW and cot jut 5 per peron, per eion! 7 At England Netball we are committed to the development of coache and want to upport all of our coache to tranition to a nationally recognied UKCC qualification. We wih to etablih a platform on which we can provide tailored, need led continued profeional development for our coache and a uch, have concluded that holding a UKCC qualification will be the baeline. Moving forward England Netball will be introducing a licening and regitration ytem whereby all exiting and active coache will be required to hold a UKCC qualification *. A uch, we would like to upport you to gain a UKCC qualification in the mot time and cot effective manner by completing the UKCC Level 2 converion coure. With thi in mind, England Netball have developed a afeguarding and protecting young people in netball policy, procedure and guideline that applie to all individual involved in netball whether in a paid or voluntary capacity. Thi year event will take place over the weekend of; May 11th/12th. We will be looking to recruit volunteer for thi event, o we will keep you up to date on any new with regard to thi competition.
