2 VICTORADEYANJU DEFENSIVE END Senior 94 CHICAGO, ILL./CURIE ADEYANJU S CAREER STATS Year GP/GS UT AT Tot TFL Sack FF FR Int PBU / / / Career 35/ Defensive lineman Victor Adeyanju was one of six Hoosiers to start all 11 games on the defensive side of the ball last year, and he will go into the 2005 season having gotten the starting nod in 32 consecutive games. Adeyanju finished fifth on the team with 40 tackles and had a season-high six in IU s home win over then-no. 23 Minnesota. He was second on the team with 9.5 tackles for loss, including two for 17 yards against Purdue. He also registered a sack and a pair of tackles as the Hoosiers defeated then-no. 24 Oregon on the road. The defensive end scored his first career touchdown on a fumble recovery, to go along with three tackles at Kentucky. He posted a season-high 81 snaps on defensive side of the ball against the Wildcats. Adeyanju posted one sack against Illinois and Penn State. One of five players to start all 12 games on defense in Adeyanju finished with 31 tackles (24 solo, seven assisted), including five for a loss of 13 yards. He had five solo stops in the 33-3 win over Indiana State. He played in all 12 games in 2002, making his way into the starting lineup in the third game of the season against Kentucky after Derek Barnett suffered a season-ending injury. Adeyanju held onto that starting spot at left defensive end for the remainder of the year. The Chicago, Ill., native saw his snap count increase with each game, totaling 676 snaps of game action on the year. He played in just five snaps in the 2002 opener against William & Mary and closed out the season with 93 snaps at Purdue. On four different occasions, Adeyanju tallied 70 or more snaps in a contest. He registered 22 solo tackles and 33 total tackles in Of those 33 tackles, 4.5 came in the backfield, totaling a loss of 17 yards. He also registered a pair of sacks for a loss of 12 yards. Adeyanju totaled four or more tackles in four of his last five games to close out the 2002 season. He twice recorded his career-high of six tackles in a game, first at Illinois and then against Michigan State. Five of those six tackles against the Spartans were solo tackles. He tallied five total tackles against Penn State with 1.5 of those stops coming in the backfield for a loss of 10 yards, highlighted by a sack that sent the Nittany Lions nine yards backwards. Adeyanju spent his freshman year at Indiana as a redshirt after coming to Bloomington from Currie High School. At Currie, he suffered a broken leg in his senior campaign and despite playing in just five games, registered 45 tackles, 17 for loss and 10 sacks. He also played basketball at Currie. The computer science major spent much of his childhood living in Nigeria. The son of Joseph and Deborah Adeyanju was born February 11, He has five siblings. TYLERALTMAN DEFENSIVE END Sophomore 52 LATROBE, PA./GREATER LATROBE After redshirting in 2003, defensive end Tyler Altman saw action in three games for the Hoosiers in 2004 and played a season-high seven snaps in season opener against Central Michigan. He saw four snaps of game action against both Illinois and Penn State. He led his high school team with 112 tackles and was a unanimous first-team Quad South selection at linebacker in 2001, earning a spot on the PrepStar All-Region team. Rivals.com tabbed Altman as the 23rd-best player coming out of the state of Pennsylvania and the No. 40 defensive end in the nation. He grew up in San Diego, Calif., before moving to Latrobe when he was 12. He was forced to miss his senior season with a partially torn ACL that he suffered while being a three-sport athlete at Greater Latrobe High. The Lafayette, Ind., native saw 41 snaps of game action in 2003, playing a season-high seven snaps against both Indiana State and Northwestern. He redshirted as a true freshman in The Lafayette, Ind., native missed a portion of his senior season at McCutcheon High School with Crohn s disease, but was still named to the coaches all-state team. He was named firstteam All-Area by the Journal & Courier as well as to the Herald-Times top 33 All-State Squad. 52

3 JAMESBAILEY WIDE RECEIVER Freshman-R 82 DETROIT, MICH./DENBY Wide receiver James Bailey redshirted as a true freshman in Bailey joined the Hoosiers as a three-star prospect at wide receiver, according to Rivals.com and ranked as the 78th-best receiver in the nation by the web site as well. He made 44 catches for 817 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior at Denby and was recognized as a member of the Detroit Free Press Dream Team, consisting of the state s top 22 players. Bailey was a Fab 50 selection in the state of Michigan by Mick McCabe and earned a spot All-Detroit first team as selected by the Detroit Free Press. He had eight games with at least one punt of over 50 yards and five contests with at least two of that distance. Against Purdue, Beattie had five punts of over 50-yards and dropped four inside the 20-yard line. He drilled a season-long bomb of 59 yards at Ohio State and also uncorked a 57-yarder at then-no. 24 Oregon. He had his best single-game punt average, 48.4 on eight punts, at Purdue in the season finale. Beattie had zero punts blocked on the season and scampered for a career-long run of 32 yards on a fake punt against Michigan. As a sophomore, he punted the ball 68 times with a 40.8-yard average, and 15 punts downed inside the 20-yard line. Beattie blasted an 80-yard punt at Minnesota for the fourth-longest punt in school history. Beattie also booted a 56-yarder at Michigan and a 55-yarder against Northwestern. However, his specialty is killing punts inside the five-yard line, as he pinned opponents inside their own five-yard line on six different occasions as a freshman. The Attadale, Australia native came to the Hoosiers via Christian Brothers High School and redshirted in He was named All-Australian punter for setting tournament punting records as part of the national championship team in Australia. He also competed in baseball, cricket, Australian rules football, basketball and swimming at Christian Brothers. He was an all-district selection in cricket, Australian football, basketball and swimming. The son of Jill and Jon Beattie was born on June 9, 1981 and has two sisters. TD Long / / Career 12/ Junior return man and professional songwriter Lance Bennett is a preseason all-league selection by Athlon s and was named 2004 honorable mention All-America by CNNSI.com. He finished the season ranked fourth in the nation with a kickoff return average of 30.0 yards. Bennett broke free on a 98-yard kickoff return for touchdown for Indiana s final score of the game in the third quarter at then No. 24 Oregon. His return for touchdown marked the second-longest kickoff scamper in IU school history. Two games later, at home against Michigan State, he set a schoolrecord with a 94-yard punt return for touchdown. For the season, he had team bests in kickoff return yards (599) and punt return yards (208). He was third on the team with 807 all-purpose yards. Bennett closed the season with 80 or more return yards in six games and had at least one kickoff return of 30 yards or more versus six IU opponents. He popped a 56-yard kickoff return at home against Michigan. As a sophomore, Bennett ranked fourth in the Big Ten with a 22.5-yard kick return average in Bennett s 70-yarder against Indiana State was the longest for a Hoosier all year. Bennett also returned 11 punts, ranking seventh in the Big Ten with a 10.2-yard average in conference games. Bennett earned all-city and all-state honors and was selected as the team MVP as a senior at Brooklyn's Poly Prep High School. Tabbed as the team's offensive MVP as a junior, Bennett also competed on the track and field team and was an All- American as part of the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay teams. Off the field, Bennett is an accomplished musician and writer, co-writing the biggest hit off the Men In Black II Soundtrack, Will Smith's "Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head)." Bennett writes songs with his two brothers. The Bennett brothers also wrote the Baltimore Ravens' Super Bowl theme song and Smith s latest hit Switch. He has written songs since he was eight years old. He graduated from high school in 2000 and has pursued his musical career since. He is enrolled in business marketing at IU with plans to start a record company after graduation. 53

4 AARONBERN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN Freshman-R 57 MONTGOMERY, ALA./ST. JAMES Offensive lineman Aaron Bern redshirted as a true freshman in The Montgomery, Ala., native was named to the Birmingham News and Montgomery Advertiser All-State first team as a senior. During his junior campaign, he earned all-metro and all-conference honors and was named to the Capital City All- Tournament basketball team. He played offensive and defensive line as a three-year varsity letterwinner and was named the team captain his senior year. Bern also was a three-year letterwinner in basketball and track and field. Bern s great uncle is Hall of Fame baseball announcer Mel Allen. GREGBROWN DEFENSIVE LINEMAN Freshman-R 62 CENTERVILLE, OHIO/FORK UNION (VA.) Offensive lineman Greg Brown redshirted as a true freshman in Brown helped Fork Union to an 8-4 record in 2003 as senior and was honorable mention All-Ohio choice. During his junior campaign earned All-Southwestern and all-district accolades after leading his team to an 8-2 mark. He was also and an allleague selection as a sophomore and junior and two-time conference player of the week as a junior. TIMBUGG LONG SNAPPER Sophomore August 15, 1984 to Bill and Cathy Bugg, has two brothers, Brian and Brandon. KENNIBURNS RUNNING BACK Sophomore 23 SPRINGFIELD, ILL./SACRED HEART GRIFFIN Redshirt sophomore running back Kenni Burns saw action on the special teams unit in 10 games last season and played 41 snaps on the year with a season-high eight at Illinois. Burns spent the 2003 season as a redshirt. Following 2004 spring drills, he garnered the Iron Man Award, for taking the most snaps during the spring. Despite being removed from all but three games before the fourth quarter in his senior season of high school, he rushed for 2,444 yards, averaging 8.6 yards per carry, with 36 touchdowns. The CSEC Player of the Year in 2002, Burns was a first team all-state selection in every major newspaper or organization. Burns broke every major rushing record at Sacred Heart-Griffin, including career yards (4,584) and total offensive yards for a season (2,588). He played the first game of his junior year with a broken foot and still rushed for 200 yards. He had surgery the next day and did not return until the last game of the regular season, and again rushed for 200 yards. Was the first player in Illinois state high school football history to earn all-state honors as a sophomore. Also played basketball in high school, averaging better than 15 points and eight rebounds per game. RAYSHUNCALHOUN DEFENSIVE BACK Freshman-R SOUTH BEND, IND./PENN Tim Bugg did not see game action in He spent the 2003 season as a redshirt. A graduate of Penn High School, Bugg was selected to the Northern Indiana Conference honorable mention team during his senior campaign, as well as the 5A All-Area team. The South Bend, Ind., walk-on was a member of the A State Championship team. Bugg lettered in golf and rugby. Born on ATLANTA, GA./DOUGLASS Defensive back Rayshun Calhoun redshirted as a true freshman in Calhoun split time between cornerback and safety and made 67 tackles as a senior (39 solo) to go with three interceptions for a Douglass High School team that went

Clency played in all 11 games for the Hoosiers in 2004 and saw action in 99 snaps on special teams and the defensive side of the ball. He played a season-high 29 snaps at home against Michigan. The speedster registered one solo and one assisted tackle against Michigan State and one assisted stop at Northwestern. During 2003, he returned eight kickoffs for a total of 166 yards in 2003 (20.8 average), including a career-long 51-yard return against Indiana State. Clency saw limited action at defensive back, registering one assisted tackle. The 2003 season was his first in the defensive backfield after spending his redshirt freshman campaign (2002) as a running back. Clency made the switch to defensive back, a position he played in high school, in spring camp. The Indianapolis, Ind., native played in seven games in 2002, tallying a total of 54 snaps. Clency rushed for 26 yards on 10 carries in 2002, all in the first game against William & Mary. He redshirted his freshman year (2001) after coming to IU from Park Tudor High School where he was the 2000 Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Indiana. He was a Class A first team All-State selection at defensive back. The biology major is also a concert pianist. The son of Jacquelyn and Charles Clency was born on May 13, He has one brother. SEANEDMUNDSON OFFENSIVE LINE Sophomore 64 GREENWOOD, IND/CENTER GROVE Offensive lineman Sean Edmundson redshirted as a true freshman in Edmundson received the second-most votes of any offensive lineman by coaches and the news media for the 2003 Indiana high school football position award, conducted by the Indianapolis Star in conjunction with its Mr. Football program. An Indiana Football Coaches Association All-State selection as well as an Indiana Football Guide Tremendous 26 honoree., Edmundson led all players in all categories with the most coaches' votes for the Indianapolis Star South All-Area team. CHARLESEMERSON DEFENSIVE LINE Sophomore 93 WESTON, CONN./STAPLES Sophomore defensive lineman Charles Emerson played 20 snaps in the first game of the year against Central Michigan in He gained 20 pounds in his 2003 redshirt season. As a high school senior, he was named to the Hartford Courant's 2002 All-Courant team. He was named the Connecticut Post s Defensive MVP and earned 2001 Class L SNET/CHSCA All-State football recognition as a junior. Emerson led Staples-Westport to the state title during his senior season. 55

6 BRIANFAIRES TIGHT END Sophomore 85 INDIANAPOLIS, IND./BEN DAVIS Redshirt sophomore tight end Brian Faires played 10 snaps in the 2004 season-opener against Central Michigan. He spent the 2003 season as a redshirt after making a position move from tight end to defensive line. Ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 50 tight end in the nation and the seventh-best player in the state of Indiana, Faires was a first team all-state selection and helped Ben Davis to the Class 5A State Championship. A PrepStar All-Region selection, Faires was honored as the No. 68 player in the Midwest region by SuperPrep. Faires was also tabbed as the ninth-best player coming out of the state of Indiana in 2002 by TheInsiders.com. A solid receiver, Faires recorded 31 catches and scored 12 times in 2002, but was touted as an even better blocker. He earned the Ben Davis consistent performer award as a junior, catching 19 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games. He also graded out at 87 percent as a blocker and had 20 pancakes. In addition to football, Faires also played center for the Ben Davis basketball team and ran for the season finale at Purdue. Justin is a second generation Hoosier, as his father, Kevin, played fullback and tight end from Justin sat out his freshman year (2002) as a redshirt. The Elwood, Ind., native was a member of the Herald-Times Top 33 Team, first team all-state in 2001, honorable mention all-state in both 1999 and 2000, three-time All-Central Indiana Conference and a three-time All-Madison County selection. He also played basketball, golf and ran track at Elwood. Frye was academic all-state and Marine Corp Scholar Athlete of the Year. The son of Kevin and Rose Frye was born September 19, 1983 and has one sister. the 400 in track and field. Senior wide receiver Jahkeen Gilmore started two of the 10 games that he played in during the 2004 season and finished JUSTINFRYE OFFENSIVE LINE Junior 60 ELWOOD, IND./ELWOOD FRYE S CAREER STATS Year GAMES PLAYED GAMES STARTED Redshirted Totals Junior offensive lineman Justin Frye is one of two returning offensive lineman to start every game in He has started 22 of the last 23 games since being on the field for the opening tilt at Connecticut in The right tackle played 734 snaps on the offensive side of the ball in 2004 and appeared in a season-high 99 snaps at Northwestern. Frye played 70 or more snaps in eight games on the year. Frye was on the field for 821 snaps of game action as a freshman and was part of the youngest offensive line in the Big Ten. His 85 snaps played against Kentucky marked a season high. He also played 80 snaps or more against Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota and Illinois. He also was tied for second on the team with a pair of touchdown catches and was fifth on the squad with 316 yards of total offense. Gilmore had a career-high seven catches, including one for a touchdown, at Northwestern. He posted a career-high 90 yards receiving at Illinois, including an 80-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage against the Fighting Illini. Gilmore also totaled four catches at Big Ten foes Ohio State and three against both Michigan and Illinois. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native came to Indiana as a partial qualifier and started his IU football career as a sophomore in 2003, playing a total of 10 snaps (all against Washington in the second game of the year as a defensive back). Gilmore caught 47 passes for 1,080 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior at Poly Prep HS in Brooklyn. He also played defense, recording 45 tackles and four interceptions. Gilmore was one of 22 players selected from Connecticut, New Jersey and New York as a Heisman Trophy All Star. He was tabbed by Super Prep as the 11th-ranked senior from New York. An allcity and all-state selection, Gilmore also ran track. 56

7 TROYGROSFIELD DEFENSIVE BACK Junior 5 LITTLETON, COLO./CHATFIELD Junior defensive back Troy Grosfield saw action in seven games during the 2004 season from the defensive back position. He registered a season-high seven total tackles (four solo, three assisted) at Northwestern in 99 snaps of action. Grosfield posted three solo tackles and a pass breakup in the first game of the year against Central Michigan and added two solo tackles and one assist against Michigan. Grosfield handled kickoff duties for the Hoosiers in 2003, registering 13 touchbacks. Grosfield also saw action at defensive back for the Hoosiers during spring practice. After originally coming to IU as a kicker, he worked out at wide receiver during 2003 spring camp but moved back to kicker during the fall. The Littleton, Colo., native came to the Hoosiers via Chatfield High School, where he was a second team all-state selection and a three-time All-Jefferson County Conference choice. Grosfield played some wide receiver in high school as well as his kicking duties. He also played baseball and ran track at Chatfield. Grosfield was a two-time academic all-state performer. The son of Lynn and Debby Grosfield was born on December 31, 1983 and has two sisters. PAULHAAN WIDE RECEIVER Sophomore 86 LAFAYETTE, IND./LAFAYETTE CENTRAL Receiver Paul Haan did not see game action in He redshirted as a true freshman in A graduate of Lafayette Central Catholic High School, he lettered in football and basketball for four years. The Lafayette, Ind., walk-on was team captain his senior season and earned first team all-area. During his freshman season (1999), Haan was a member of the state championship football team and in his junior year he was named to the junior allstate team. Haan was a member of the National Honor Society, participated on the academic super bowl math team for three years and was a member of 4H for 10 years. JAMESHARDY WIDE RECEIVER Freshman-R 22 FORT WAYNE, IND./ELMHURST Wide receiver James Hardy redshirted as a true freshman in Hardy plays on the men s basketball team and saw considerable action for the Hoosiers last season, starting three of the 23 games in which he played. Hardy was two-sport standout at Fort Wayne Elmhurst. He was named All-SAC as a wide receiver after making 34 catches for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. Following his final campaign was a Class 4-A all-state selection by the Indiana Football Coaches Association. Justin Frye enters the 2005 season having started 22 of his last 23 games. 57

8 BRANDONHATCHER CENTER Senior ADAMHINES OFFENSIVE LINE Senior 73 DETROIT, MICH./CASS TECH HATCHER S CAREER STATS Year GAMES PLAYED GAMES STARTED Redshirted CAREER Center Brandon Hatcher played in nine games, starting seven, for the Hoosiers in Hatcher moved into the starting role at right guard after Chris Jahnke was forced to switch from right guard to the center position. He played 456 snaps on the offensive side of the ball, including a season-high 94 at Northwestern. Hatcher s 2003 season was cut short after he sustained a knee injury against Kentucky that kept him sidelined the rest of the year. He started each of the first four contests at center and was on the field for a total of 240 snaps. He played in four games in 2002, his redshirt freshman campaign. The Detroit, Michigan native saw a total of 24 snaps of game action in His season high for game snaps came against Michigan State when he played 18 snaps. Hatcher saw action in three of the team s final four games. He redshirted his first year in Bloomington (2001). Hatcher came to Indiana from Cass Tech High School. Hatcher was an all-city, all-metro and all-state selection. He was also named as a member of the Detroit Free Press Dream Team, and was one of six finalists for the High School Athlete of the Year award in Michigan. Hatcher is a microbiology major at Indiana. The son of Brenda Hatcher was born on December 16, PAULHEARN OFFENSIVE LINE Sophomore 70 CALGARY, ALBERTA/CHAMPLAIN REGIONAL Sophomore offensive tackle Paul Hearn saw action in six games during the 2004 season. Hearn redshirted the 2003 season after battling a series of injuries. He played at Champlain Regional College in the Cegep League and was named outstanding offensive lineman. He enrolled at IU in January of 2002, which allowed him to participate in spring ball. 75 VANDALIA, OHIO/BUTLER HINES CAREER STATS Year GAMES PLAYED GAMES STARTED CAREER Senior Adam Hines started all 11 games for the Hoosiers in 2004; starting the first four games at left guard before an injury to Isaac Sowells forced him to play the final seven contests at left tackle. Hines will enter the 2005 season having been in the starting lineup 24 straight games. He closed the year fourth on the team with 756 snaps under his belt and was on the field for 60 or more snaps in all 11 games and 70 or more snaps on nine occasions. Hines played a season-high 99 snaps from the offensive side of the ball at Northwestern. Hines played more snaps (969) than any other Hoosier during the 2003 season. He started all 12 games during his sophomore season at left guard. He started six times at the right guard position and four times at the left guard slot as a true freshman. After not playing in Indiana s first game against William and Mary, Hines played in the team s next 11 games and started the final 10 games of the season. The Vandalia, Ohio, native played a total of 560 snaps of game action in He did not play in the opener, but saw 30 or more snaps in every game after that. Hines played a seasonhigh 93 snaps against Iowa. He was one of just three true freshmen with over 500 snaps in 2002 and the lone true freshman to play on the offensive line for the Hoosiers. He saw his first collegiate action in game two against Utah and saw action in 41 snaps. His play against the Utes resulted in his first start the following week at Kentucky. He started against the Wildcats at right guard and stayed at that position against Central Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin. In the seventh game of the season, Hines moved to left guard and started there against the Hawkeyes, at Illinois, at Northwestern and at home against Michigan State. Hines returned to the right guard spot for the final two games of the year against Penn State and Purdue. Hines came to Indiana from Butler High School. He earned All-Midwest honors from PrepStar and was rated the 99th offensive guard by Rivals.com. He was a two-time Great Western League, two-time all-area, two-time all-district and a second team all-state selection at Butler. The son of Garland and Gayle Hines was born February 1, 1984 and has a sister. 58

BENISHOLA DEFENSIVE END Senior 99 BERLIN, GERMANY/BERLIN ADLER ISHOLA S CAREER STATS / / Career 22/ Senior defensive end Ben Ishola played in 10 contests for the Hoosiers in 2004 and was a huge part in IU s win at then- No. 24 Oregon as he registered two sacks. He posted a season-high five tackles, all solo, against Michigan State and had a pair of solo tackles versus then-no. 23 Minnesota. Ishola finished the year with 12 solo tackles and two assists. He appeared in all 12 games in 2003, recording a pair of tackles on the season in addition to a quarterback sack against Illinois. A native of Berlin, Germany, Ishola played for the Berlin Adler American Football Club and helped the team to a 7-8 record in 2002 and an appearance in the league semifinals. Ishola anchored a defense that recorded two shutouts and held a third team to only seven points. He led the team with three interceptions in The Houston, Texas native saw 638 snaps of game action during his redshirt freshman campaign. He played over 50 snaps in all but one game, the Illinois game, when he injured his ankle on the second play of the game. Jones saw a season-high 104 snaps against Central Michigan. The 104 snaps was the second most any Hoosier played in a single game. He also tallied 95 snaps at Utah. In 2002, Jones had 55 tackles on the season, 35 of them solo. He also had 1.5 tackles for loss while breaking up five passes. He had five or more tackles on six occasions. His top-tackling game came against Central Michigan when he registered 12 stops, 10 of which were solo tackles. He was one of just three Hoosiers in 2002 to record 10 solo stops in a game. Jones redshirted his freshman year in Before coming to Indiana, he starred at Sterling High School where he helped lead the team to a district championship. He was the 2000 district defensive player of the year and was a finalist for the Houston Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Year. Jones intercepted eight passes during his senior season (2000), taking five of them back for touchdowns. He also returned five punts for touchdowns. Jones also played basketball and ran track at Sterling. The son of Billye Rayes was born on September 21,

CHARLES, MO./DUCHESNE Offensive lineman Brandon Joyce did not see game action in He redshirted as a true freshman in A 3A Missouri first-team All-State selection on the offensive line, Joyce is the son of former Los Angeles Rams and St. Louis Cardinals punter Terry Joyce. His grandfather was a center in college and his sister played on the volleyball team at UAB. Joyce led his team to a 9-3 record with an offense that averaged more than 300 yards per game. He was one of the highest-rated offensive linemen to come out of the state of Missouri his senior year by several publications. He was also recognized for his efforts in the classroom by the St. Louis-Tom Lombardo Chapter of the National Football Foundation with the organization's Scholar-Athlete Award. On defense, he made 27 tackles. JEREMIAHKELLAM OFFENSIVE LINE Sophomore 63 WABASH, IND./SOUTHWOOD Offensive lineman Jeremiah Kellam did not see game action in He walked-on to the team in 2003 and spent the season as a redshirt. He worked to gain 25 pounds during his redshirt season. The Wabash, Ind., native was an Associated Press Class A All-State selection at Southwood and participated in the 2003 Methodist Sports Medicine Center All-Star Classic. In addition, he was tabbed as an Area North All-Star by the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette. Kellam was the only Class A offensive lineman named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Regional All-Star team. KENNYKENDAL DEFENSIVE END Junior 92 CHICAGO, ILL./GORDON TECH KENDAL S CAREER STATS / / Redshirted Career 23/ Junior defensive end Kenny Kendal started all 11 games for the Hoosiers in 2004 was the team leader with 5.5 sacks on the season. Kendal closed the year with 8.5 tackles for loss, good for third best on the team. He had a big game at Kentucky, registering five solo tackles, including two for loss and a sack, to go along with a pair of forced fumbles. In a double-overtime game at Northwestern, he compiled three total tackles and two quarterback hurries. Kendal registered two sacks and a pass breakup at Purdue in the final contest of the season. Kendal started all 12 games at defensive end in 2003, playing 807 snaps. He closed the season with 30 tackles (21 solo and nine assisted). He finished tied for fourth on the team with 4.5 tackles for loss. Kendal recorded five tackles at Minnesota on Nov. 1 and also had four solo stops (two for a loss of 13 yards) at Michigan. Kendal turned in one of the most productive spring camps of anyone on the Indiana roster in 2003 and came out of spring ball as the starter at right end. Following spring drills, Kendal was named the Most Outstanding Sophomore in the spring for the Hoosiers. Sat out the 2002 season as a redshirt. The Chicago, Ill., native came to the Hoosiers after a prep career at Gordon Tech High School. Kendal was an honorable mention All-State selection by the Chicago Sun Times and the Chicago Tribune. He was the Catholic Metro Conference Defensive Player of the Year as well as Gordon Tech s Team MVP. Kendal was also a two-time All-Catholic Metro Conference selection. 11 KYLEKILLION LINEBACKER Senior 43 KINGWOOD, TEXAS/KINGWOOD KILLION S CAREER STATS / / / Career 30/ Senior Kyle Killion was a key component for the Hoosier defense, starting all 11 games at the middle linebacker position in Killion will move to outside linebacker this fall, where he is already projected among the top 11 players in the nation at that position by Lindy s. Killion was recognized as a second team All- Big Ten selection by the conference media and honorable mention selection by the conference coaches in He finished second on the team and fifth in the Big Ten with 107 total tackles. He was first on the squad and fourth in the league with 16.5 tackles for loss and closed the year with five sacks and a pair of interceptions. The Texan was a real ball-hawk, as he had seven games on the season with 10 or more tackles. In the first game of the year against Central Michigan, he posted a 10-tackle performance (eight solo and two assists), to go along with a pair of sacks and a forced fumble. He totaled nine tackles and an interception in the Hoosiers win at then-no. 24 Oregon. Killion reeled off four straight games of 10 or more tackles at Kentucky (13), Michigan State (12), Michigan (10) and at Northwestern (12). Killion had a monster game against Penn State, registering 10 total tackles (eight solo and two assists), a sack and an interception that he returned 46 yards for touchdown. He started all 12 games in 2003 and was the team s leading tackler with 97 stops. Killion recorded at least 10 tackles in five games, capped with a 10-tackle (all solo) effort in the regular season finale against Purdue. Killion also began the season with back-to-back 10-tackle efforts at Connecticut and Washington. Killion was second on the team with seven tackles for loss and also intercepted a pass at Washington. He played in 875 total snaps. Following spring drills in 2003, Killion was named the team s Most Outstanding Junior for his performance during the spring. Killion opened the 2002 season as one of the Hoosiers starting linebackers as a true freshman. He started each of the first three games before suffering a knee injury that nearly forced him to miss the remainder of the season. He came back with a large knee brace and played in four of the team s final five games. He earned the start against Michigan State. He finished the season having played in seven games, making four starts. The Kingwood, Texas, native saw 258 snaps of game action in He saw a season-high 68 snaps on two occasions. He played 68 snaps at Utah in the second game of the season and then 68 in the 10th game of the year against Michigan State. He was one of only eight true freshmen to play in Killion finished his freshman campaign with 28 tackles, 17 of them being solo. He also registered 3.5 tackles for loss along with one sack and one forced fumble. Despite only playing in seven games, Killion did have over five tackles on four occasions. His top performance came in the last game of the year when he registered seven tackles at Purdue. Before arriving at Indiana, he played at Kingwood High School. Killion has football in his blood, as his father played on Oklahoma s 1974 National Championship team, and his brother played for Colorado. He was a first team all-district selection in He also ran track at Kingwood and was a regional finalist in the shot put and discus. The son of J.K. and Donna Killion was born February 1, He has two brothers. Both of Killion s brothers played collegiate athletics with one having played football at Colorado and one having played baseball at Oklahoma. Kleinschmidt was on the field for 39 snaps of game action in The Metairie, La., walk-on saw 30 snaps of game action as a redshirt freshman in 2002, playing in six games. Kleinschmidt made one catch as a freshman, gaining 13 yards against Michigan State. He redshirted his freshman year in Before coming to Indiana, he played at St. Martin s Episcopal. Kleinschmidt lettered in football, soccer and track and field at St. Martin s. He is a sports broadcasting major at Indiana. The son of Marlene and Dean Kleinschmidt was born on March 23, He has one sister. Kleinschmidt s father served as a student trainer on Indiana s only Rose Bowl team in 1967 and returned to the sideline for the Hoosiers in 2004 as the head trainer. 61

12 JOEKREMER DEFENSIVE LINE Sophomore 95 URBANA, OHIO/URBANA Sophomore defensive lineman Joe Kremer appeared in six games for the Hoosiers in 2004 and played 15 of his 28 snaps against Central Michigan. Through hard work in the weight room and in conditioning, Kremer used his 2003 redshirt season to gain 35 pounds. A PrepStar All-Region honoree, Kremer was recognized as an Associated Press Division III Ohio Football All-Star. He also was named to the All-Ohio Division III team by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association. Kremer was chosen to play for the South team in the Ohio All-Star Classic. He has been clocked at 4.8 in the 40-yard dash. Kremer recorded 128 tackles as a junior, including 15 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks. He was also his prep team's punter, averaging an area-best 40.3 yards per kick. He was named All-Ohio and All-District following his junior season. BUSTERLARKINS DEFENSIVE BACK Senior 8 INDIANAPOLIS, IND./CATHEDRAL LARKINS CAREER STATS / / / Redshirted Career 35/ Senior defensive back Buster Larkins started all 11 games at the cornerback position for the Hoosiers in He finished first on the team with nine pass breakups, second with two interceptions and fourth with 45 tackles. Larkins had his best game of the season in the Hoosiers win at then-no. 24 Oregon, when he had 10 solo tackles to go along with a pair of pass breakups, an interception and a forced fumble. The Indianapolis native had an interception and pass breakup against Michigan State and seven tackles (four solo and three assists) at Northwestern. Larkins registered four or more tackles on seven occasions during the season. He started three of the 12 games in which he played in 2003 (Michigan State, Northwestern and Ohio State). Larkins posted seven solo tackles against Northwestern, and added four solo stops each at Michigan and Michigan State. He returned a blocked punt 37 yards for a touchdown against the Wolverines. Larkins made the most of his opportunities as a redshirt freshman in After playing the first four games as a reserve, Larkins got the chance to start in the Hoosiers fifth game and was the starter for the rest of the season at free safety. Larkins took over the spot vacated by an injury to Joe Gonzalez. Larkins played in 791 snaps of game action in He saw over 50 snaps in 10 of 12 games. Over the last nine games, all of which he started, Larkins played in 60 snaps or more. He recorded a season-high 90 snaps of action at Purdue. Larkins recorded 49 total tackles and 33 solo stops in He also had one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, one interception and four pass breakups. His first career interception came against Penn State, and he returned it 59 yards for a touchdown. It was the eighth-longest interception return for a touchdown in school history and the longest since Larkins TD return, coupled with Joe Gonzalez s TD return against Kentucky, marked the first time Indiana had returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a season since Larkins redshirted his freshman year in He spent his prep career at Cathedral High School. During his senior season (2000), he helped Cathedral to a 10-1 record, while playing every game at safety and wide receiver. Larkins helped Cathedral to two state championships during his career. He recorded 32 tackles, three interceptions, nine pass breakups, and two blocked kicks at safety his senior year. He also caught 11 passes for 263 yards in Larkins is a criminal justice major at Indiana. The son of Randy and Marion Larkins was born March 17, He has one sister. KENNYLOVE, JR. DEFENSIVE LINE Freshman-R 77 WILLINGBORO, N.J./PENNINGTON PREP Defensive lineman Kenny Love, Jr., redshirted as a true freshman in He was a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com, as the web site tabbed him as the 57th-best defensive tackle in the nation coming out of Pennington Prep. Love registered 69 tackles and nine sacks as a senior and made 60 tackles with seven sacks and two fumble recoveries as a junior. 62

13 NICKLUCE DEFENSIVE LINE Sophomore 72 VINCENNES, IND./LINCOLN Offensive lineman Nick Luce did not see game action in He redshirted his first season for the Hoosiers in He was a three-year letterwinner at Lincoln High School in Vincennes, earning all-area honors in each of those seasons. Luce, a walk-on, earned all-state honors from the Indiana Football Coaches Association and the Associated Press twice. Also an accomplished wrestler, Luce was a three-time heavyweight sectional champion and went to the state finals. Born in Bloomington on March 25, 1985, Luce is the son of Steve and LeAnn Luce. His father played football for three years at Murray State before transferring to Indiana. WILLLUMPKIN STRONG SAFETY Senior 4 DAYTON, OHIO/TROTWOOD-MADISON Utah, Lumpkin played 30 or more snaps six times in the team s final 10 games. He made his first career start in the fourth game of the season against Central Michigan and played a season-high 87 snaps. He registered 17 tackles, 13 of which were solo. He also picked up 1.5 tackles for loss and three pass breakups on the season. Lumpkin redshirted his freshman year (2001) at Indiana. He prepped at Trotwood-Madison High School before coming to Indiana. He played in both the defensive backfield and at wide receiver. During his senior year (2000), he recorded 68 tackles, four sacks, forced two fumbles and intercepted five passes. On the offensive side of the ball, he caught 25 passes for 273 yards. He earned second team All-State honors in Division II selected by the Associated Press. Lumpkin was a 2002 Academic All-Big Ten selection as a Business major at Indiana. The son of Sandra and Floyd Lumpkin was born in Jacksonville, N.C. He is the cousin of former Ohio State tight end John Lumpkin and another cousin, John Lumpkin was a defensive lineman with the Hoosiers from Lumpkin has two siblings and was born February 3, LESLIEMAJORS DEFENSIVE BACK Sophomore 28 HARVEY, ILL./THORNWOOD LUMPKIN S CAREER STATS / / / Redshirted Career 23/ Senior safety Will Lumpkin started four of the 10 games that he played in during the 2004 and had a season-high six tackles, four solo and two assists, at Kentucky. Scored his first touchdown of the season, a 42-yard interception return for touchdown, and posted two tackles and a pass breakup, in IU s win over then-no. 23 Minnesota. Lumpkin had three tackles, a pass breakup and one fumble recovery of 74 yards, for his second touchdown of the year, against Purdue. He was off to a solid start in the 2003 season before a knee injury at Washington sidelined him for the remainder of the year. Lumpkin was one of three Indiana players to record double-digit tackles (a career-high 12) in the season opener at Connecticut before he suffered the knee injury at Washington a week later. He saw his playing time increase throughout his redshirt freshman campaign (2002). Lumpkin played in 11 games, making one start (against Central Michigan). The Dayton, Ohio native saw 380 snaps of game action in After not playing against William & Mary and only playing one snap against MAJORS CAREER STATS / Sophomore Leslie Majors saw his first collegiate action during the first half of the Ohio State game, when Tracy Porter was injured. He, along with Porter, were the only true freshmen to play in 2004 for the Hoosiers. After registering five solo tackles at OSU, Majors started the final four games at the cornerback position and in just four and half games, he finished second on the team with eight pass breakups and sixth on the team with 38 total tackles. Majors posted seven tackles in each of his next three games: Minnesota (four solo and three assists), at Illinois (three solo and four assists) and Penn State (six solo and one assists). He had five pass breakups versus the Fighting Illini and finished with 12 total tackles (nine solo and three assisted) and a pair of pass breakups at Purdue in the season finale. The Harvey, Ill., native has been clocked at 4.25 in the 40- yard dash. He played both receiver and defensive back in high school, amassing over 1,000 yards receiving to go with 18 touchdowns as a senior. Majors is the cousin of Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott. He led the Thornwood track and field team to a state championship his junior year, competing in the long jump, triple jump, 4x100m relay and the 4x200m relay. 63

14 CHRISMANGIERO CENTER Junior 74 BROOKLYN, N.Y./BLOOMINGTON SOUTH MANGIERO S CAREER STATS Year GAMES PLAYED GAMES STARTED CAREER Junior center Chris Mangiero started the first four games of the 2004 season before a broken foot against Michigan State forced him to miss the remainder of the year. He played over 60 snaps in each of the first three games of the season. In 2003, he was forced into the lineup after a season-ending injury sustained by Brandon Hatcher. Mangiero stepped in and started the rest of the season. Mangiero led all of Indiana s true freshmen with 693 snaps of game action in 2003, despite not playing at all during the first three games. He was sidelined for the preseason of his lone year at Bloomington South with injuries. He missed the season opener due to surgery, and broke his hand during the very first play of a game against Perry Meridian later in the season. Amazingly, Mangiero played the rest of the game, but was kept from playing defense throughout the year, due to his injury. Mangiero started on defense as a sophomore and played on both sides of the ball in 2001 at Poly Prep in Brooklyn, N.Y. In his two seasons prior to coming to Indiana, Mangiero led Poly to a combined 19-0 record. He also wrestled and played lacrosse at Poly. He was undefeated in wrestling in a limited program and bench presses well over 300 pounds. RYANMARANDO 35 LAKEWOOD, OHIO/ST. EDWARD S MCCLURG S CAREER STATS / LINEBACKER Freshman-R Sophomore Adam McClurg played in 11 games for the Hoosiers and made one start at home against Penn State. McClurg had his best game of the year in IU s win over then- Linebacker Ryan Marando redshirted as a true freshman in Marando was a first team all-state selection at linebacker/defensive end as a senior. He led St. Edward s to an 11-4 record and an appearance in the state championship game. He was projected as an outside linebacker at the collegiate level. Marando made 114 tackles to go with six sacks and 10 fumble recoveries as a senior. Junior center Chris Mangiero is an integral part of an Indiana starting offensive line that collectively has 98 career starts among them. ADAMMCCLURG LINEBACKER Sophomore 50 GREENWOOD, IND./CENTER GROVE No. 23 Minnesota with three solo tackles, including one for loss. He played a season-high 44 snaps against the Golden Gophers. McClurg posted a pair of tackles against Central Michigan, Michigan State, and at Illinois and 25 or more snaps in six games. McClurg redshirted his first season at Indiana. The Center Grove High School product arrived at Indiana as a walk-on. McClurg ranked among the metro Indianapolis leaders with 110 tackles as a senior, 74 of which were unassisted. McClurg posted a pair of tackles at Northwestern and had one solo tackle for loss versus Central Michigan. He closed the year with 11 tackles (nine solo and two assists) in 233 game snaps. McClurg sat out the 2003 season after transferring from Ball State. Originally from Center Grove High School, he was tabbed as an Associated Press All-State honoree and participated in the 2002 IFCA All-Star Game. McClurg intercepted 30 passes during his career and helped the Trojans to the 2002 state championship game. McFarland served as the second-string quarterback during his redshirt freshman in 2003, making a start at Minnesota after Matt LoVecchio sustained a head injury versus Ohio State the week prior. McFarland completed 12-of-30 pass attempts for 152 yards against the Gophers. After LoVecchio s injury against the Buckeyes, McFarland led the Hoosiers downfield by completing 6-of-6 passes for 54 yards, capped by a touchdown pass. McFarland served as the primary holder on field goals and PATs in He redshirted as a true freshman in The Birmingham, Ala., native prepped at Mountain Brook High School before coming to Indiana. He completed over 66 percent of his passes for 2,600 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was an All-Southeast Region selection by PrepStar and a second team All-State choice. He played in the Alabama vs. Mississippi All-Star Classic as a senior. Coming out of school, he was rated the 24th best quarterback by PrepStar. He also played baseball at Mountain Brook. McFarland was in the National Honor Society. The son of Carl McFarland was born December 28, WILLMEYERS STRONG SAFETY Junior 39 CHESTERFIELD, MO./PARKWAY WEST MEYERS CAREER STATS / / Career 19/ Junior safety Will Meyers started the first three games of the season in 2004 before a knee injury sidelined him for three straight contests. He returned for the game at Ohio State and closed the season with a start in the season finale at Purdue. He played in eight games on the year and finished seventh on the team with 33 total tackles. Meyers opened the season with four solo tackles against Central Michigan and posted eight tackles (five solo and three assists) at Kentucky before he was injured in the fourth quarter. Registered his best game of the season came against the Boilermakers, when he tied a career high with 13 total tackles (nine solo and four assists). He was named to the Academic All-District V Football Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Meyers made an immediate impact in his first season at Indiana, earning first team freshman All-American and Big Ten Defensive Freshman of the Year honors from The Sporting News. Meyers ranked third on the team with 83 tackles (65 solo). His two sacks were good for third on the team as well. Meyers forced four fumbles on the year and finished with 3.5 tackles for loss. Meyers exploded onto the scene in his second game at the collegiate level, registering 13 tackles, forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble at Washington on September 6. From there, he went on to force at least one fumble in each of the team's next three games. The Chesterfield, Mo., product notched nine tackles against both Minnesota and Illinois, then put a cap on his productive freshman campaign by recording eight tackles with one sack for 13 yards against rival Purdue in the season finale. 65

16 A 2002 Class 5A first team All-State selection by The Jefferson City News Tribune and the top safety in Missouri according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Meyers earned PrepStar All-Region honors as well as being tabbed as the No. 55 player in the Midlands region by SuperPrep. He notched 306 tackles, nine sacks, eight interceptions and eight fumble recoveries during his career. As a senior, he had 45 tackles with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries en route to earning Suburban West Conference MVP honors. He was allmetro as an all-purpose player and Parkway West High School's MVP. He earned 10 varsity letters during his high school career (four in football, three in basketball, two for track and one for baseball). JEREMYMILES RUNNING BACK Junior 25 tackles, along with a pair of pass breakups, at Illinois. Mitchell posted four solo tackles at home versus Penn State and had best game of the year in the finale against Purdue with seven total tackles (three solo and four assists). Mitchell redshirted his first season at Indiana. He was a three-year starter in the secondary at Thornwood, where he was an all-conference and honorable mention allstate pick in As a junior in 2001, he had 72 tackles and broke up 15 passes. He forced four fumbles and picked off four passes, earning honorable mention all-state recognition. He played quarterback as well, throwing for 500 yards and rushing for 500 yards and scoring six touchdowns in an option offense. Mitchell was a sprinter on the track team as well. JOSHMOORE LINEBACKER Senior 13 CORDOVA, TENN./CORDOVA Jeremy Miles did not see game action in 2004 and moved from safety to running back this past spring. He had two solo stops and three assisted HAMDEN, CONN./VALLEY FORGE MILITARY MOORE S CAREER STATS / Totals 10/ Josh Moore started the first six games of his college career in 2003 and played in 10 games overall before a knee injury sidelined him for the final two games. Indiana s fourth-leading tackler with 68 total stops, Moore opened his career with 13 stops and an interception against home state Connecticut. Moore tied his career-high with 13 tackles (10 solo) at Michigan State and added 12 total stops at Washington. He also posted a career-high two tackles for loss in the 33-3 win over Indiana State. A graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy, Moore is among famous Valley Forge alums such as Army General Norman Schwarzkopf, author J.D. Salinger, and All-American outside linebacker and current San Francisco 49er Pro Bowl selection, Julian Peterson. In 2002, Moore recorded 15 sacks in Valley Forge s 3-4 defensive set. Not just a leader on the field, Moore was also a squad sergeant in charge of a platoon, ultimately responsible for up to 45 cadets. Known for his athleticism, which includes being clocked at 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash, Moore was also a standout at Hamden High School. Not only did he star on both sides of the line in football and play basketball, Moore was a state champion in the high jump his senior year. Moore specialized in the triple jump, high jump and the long jump, where he would record personal bests in the long jump (23-7) and high jump (6-10) at Hamden. 66

He was a Tremendous 26 selection as one of the top 26 football players in the state of Indiana, according to The Indiana Football Guide. BRANDONMOSLEY SAFETY Freshman-R 41 MERRILLVILLE, IND./MERRILLVILLE Safety Brandon Mosley redshirted as a true freshman in He was a first team all-state selection at linebacker by the Indiana Football Coaches Association. Mosley was named Northwest Indiana Times Area Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, registering 105 total tackles with 71 solo stops. He caused five fumbles and intercepted three passes, while posting 50 tackles with two sacks and two interceptions as a junior. He also played running back, amassing 1,101 all-purpose yards, with 831 coming on the ground en route to 11 touchdowns. Mosley started at Merrillville four years, earning allarea and all-conference as a sophomore. The Merrillville, Ind., native grew up on the same street as former Illinois standout and current New England Patriot defensive back Eugene Wilson. He played AAU basketball team with current IU men s basketball player Robert Vaden. INDIANAPOLIS, IND./BEN DAVIS Linebacker Mark Naaman has yet to see game action in his IU career. The Indianapolis native prepped at Ben Davis High School. Naaman lettered in both football and baseball at Ben Davis. He earned all-state honors from the Bloomington Herald Times during his senior season, recording 110 tackles, five sacks, 20 tackles for loss and a defensive touchdown. He also helped Ben Davis to a 15-0 record and a 5A State Championship during his junior campaign in which he recorded 134 tackles, five sacks and eight tackles for loss. He was named to both the Bloomington Herald-Times' and South Bend Tribune's Junior All-State teams. The business major earned a spot on the IFCA Academic All-State team his senior year in high school. The son of Gail and Jeff Naaman was born on September 6, 1982 and has three sisters. CASEYNOWINSKI LINEBACKER Junior 63 MERRILLVILLE, IND./ANDREAN Junior linebacker Casey Nowinski played in 11 games during the 2004 season, mainly on special teams. He played a season-high 15 of his 103 snaps at Kentucky. A former high school all-state wide receiver, Nowinski was moved to linebacker by the Indiana coaching staff. He played in 11 games in 2003, primarily on special teams. He played 75 snaps during the season, including a career-high 35 at Minnesota. He had two tackles against the Golden Gophers. Nowinski was a 2001 all-state wide receiver for Class 3A while at Andrean High School. He was a 2002 Biomet IFCA North Indiana High School All-Star and a finalist for The Indiana Football Guide's Class 3A Player of the Year award. Nowinski, a walk-on, had 11 catches for 193 yards and two touchdowns against Hobart for the 13th-best single-game mark in the state that year. 67

18 MATTO NEAL TIGHT END Junior 83 TERRE HAUTE, IND./SOUTH Junior tight end Matt O Neal saw action in 54 game snaps on the year and played a season-high nine at Kentucky. He saw action in 12 games in 2003, with the season-opener at Connecticut his lone start. O Neal did not make any receptions, but was on the field for 130 snaps as a freshman. His 40 snaps at Washington marked a career high. O Neal spent his first season at Indiana as a redshirt after walking on in the fall in The Terre Haute, Ind., native prepped at Terre Haute South before coming to Indiana. During his senior season at South, O Neal was selected an Indiana South All-Star, MIC All- Conference, and All-Vigo County. He also was Vigo County Most Valuable Player. He made 16 catches for 330 yards during his final campaign. O Neal also played basketball at South. O Neal was successful in the classroom as well, as he was an Academic All-State choice. The son of Eugene and Phyllis O Neal was born June 30, 1983 and has one sister. PATRICKOLDHAM OFFENSIVE LINE Sophomore 56 CARMEL, IND./PARK TUDOR Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Patrick Oldham did not see game action in He redshirted the 2003 season. Oldham was an all-conference selection and a Region Seven Academic All-State honoree at Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis. The Carmel, Ind., native helped the team to a 9-4 record his senior year and the school s first-ever sectional title. A four-year starter who played both ways, Oldham also participated in the 2003 North-South All-Star game. In addition, he played four years of varsity baseball and played on the 2001 basketball team that captured the school s first regional title. Born on October 17, 1984, he is the son of Steve and Sharon Oldham. He has one brother, Doug, and one sister, Ashley. Pannozzo had nine receptions on the season for 88 yards with five of his nine catches on the year resulting in Indiana gains of 10 yards or more. He saw 703 snaps of game action as a sophomore in 2003 despite missing Indiana s game at Penn State with a head injury. Pannozzo has 41 catches for 375 yards and three touchdowns during his career, including 15 catches for 117 yards as 68

19 a sophomore in The most productive day of his sophomore campaign came at Michigan, where he made six catches for 41 yards. Pannozzo has carried the ball seven times for 31 yards in his career. He was one of eight true freshmen to play in 2002 and was a threat out of the backfield as a receiver in his first season as a Hoosier. He led all first-year players in receiving. Pannozzo played in 12 games, making nine starts as a true freshman. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native played 609 snaps of game action and played 40 or more snaps in 11 of his 12 games, the only exception was 36 snaps against Purdue. He saw a seasonhigh 60 snaps against Penn State. He was the team s fourth-leading receiver with 26 catches for 258 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 16 yards in His top receiving game came against Penn State, when he had eight catches for 64 yards. His three touchdowns were the most receiving scores by a fullback since 1974 and his 258 yards was the most by an IU fullback since He had at least one catch in 10 of 12 games and four or more catches in three games. Prior to coming to Indiana, Pannozzo played both sides of the ball at Poly Prep. During his senior season (2001), he amassed 945 yards rushing on 89 carries and 11 touchdowns. Pannozzo caught 13 passes for 245 yards and five touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 89 tackles, 14 for loss and five sacks. He was recognized as one of 22 players selected from Connecticut, New Jersey and New York as a Heisman Trophy All State. He was also Class C Player of the Year, all-state and a two-time all-city selection. Pannozzo played on two undefeated championship teams and compiled a 26-1 mark during his prep career. WASHINGTON Redshirt freshman Chris Phillips sat out 2004 as a true freshman. Phillips was a first team all-city selection after making three interceptions as a senior. He posted 63 tackles to go with seven interceptions and two fumble recoveries as a junior. Phillips was also a standout on the track and field team. TRACYPORTER CORNERBACK Sophomore 36 PORT ALLEN, LA./PORT ALLEN PORTER S CAREER STATS / Sophomore cornerback and 2005 Street & Smith s preseason all-league selection Tracy Porter burst onto the scene as one of only two true freshmen to play for the Hoosiers in He was named to The Sporting News 2004 Big Ten All-Freshman Team after finishing first on the team with three interceptions and third on the squad with six pass breakups. The Port Allen, La., product started the first seven games of the year, before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the final four contests. In his first collegiate game against Central Michigan, Porter had four pass breakups, two interceptions and a solo tackle. On his second career interception, he returned it 96 yards for a touchdown, the third-longest interception return for touchdown in the history of IU. Porter had five solo tackles and a pass breakup at Kentucky and registered five tackles, two pass breakups and his third interception of the season, a game later, against Michigan State. Earned first team All-District 3A honors as a senior and second team laurels as a junior. Played quarterback, running back and wide receiver on offense and recorded 93 tackles, 11 interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and 14 pass breakups as a senior. He returned two punts and two kickoffs each for touchdowns, averaging 47 yards per kick return and 28 per punt return. Porter has only played two years of organized football, has been clocked at 10.4 in the 100 meters and also started at point guard for the basketball team. Powers was ranked as the No. 41 pro-style quarterback in the nation and the No. 11 player in the state of Kentucky by Rivals.com. Powers was tabbed as a PrepStar All-Region selection after his junior and senior seasons. Powers follows in his father Dan s footsteps as the older Powers played tight end at Indiana from , lettering in both 1977 and The younger Powers threw for 1,136 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior and 1,129 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. He led Meade County to an 11-2 mark in his final season including an upset win over 10-time state champion St. Xavier in the playoffs. He was a four-year starter on the Meade County basketball team as well, and was a two-time all-state honoree. JAKEPOWERS LINEBACKER Junior 46 DANVILLE, IND./DANVILLE POWERS CAREER STATS / / Career 22/ Junior Jake Powers played in all 11 games for the Hoosiers in 2004, starting five at his linebacker position. He had five solo tackles and a pass breakup in the first game of the season against Central Michigan and backed that up with five total tackles (three solo and two assists) and a pass deflection as the Hoosiers defeated then-no. 24 Oregon. Powers had two tackles and his first career forced fumble at home versus Michigan State. In his third start of the year, posted four total tackles, at Ohio State. The Danville, Ind., native was one of 12 true freshmen to see action for Indiana in 2003, starting five of the 11 games in which he played and earning Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors by The Sporting News. He was one of five true freshmen to play at least 350 snaps last fall, finishing with 363. Powers made the first start of his career against Ohio State and responded with a career-high 13 tackles (11 solo). He averaged over five tackles in each of the next four games, including seven stops in the regular season finale against Purdue. He was tabbed by The Indianapolis Star as a position award winner at linebacker and was the Star West Co-Player of the Year. Powers was also a Top 33 selection by the Bloomington Herald-Times, won the Mr. Football Linebacker Award and was named all-state, all-county and Metro Player of the Year. Powers was tabbed as the seventh-best player coming out of the state of Indiana by TheInsiders.com. In addition, he earned PrepStar All-Region recognition and was one of three incoming players ranked among the top-nine players in the state, according to the web site. He recorded 118 tackles with 19 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. Powers also played running back, and as a senior, he rushed for 1,060 yards on 139 carries. He caught eight balls for 133 yards. ISAACPRICE LINEBACKER Freshman-R 49 SOUTHFIELD, MICH./SOUTHFIELD Redshirt freshman Isaac Price sat out the 2004 season as a true freshman. Price was a three-star prospect by Rivals.com after being tabbed the 45th-best receiver in the nation and the ninth-best player in the state of Michigan by the web site. He was also a Fab 50 selection in the state of Michigan by Mick McCabe. RUSSRICHARDSON DEFENSIVE LINE Senior 55 PHOENIX, ARIZ./PHOENIX CHRISTIAN RICHARDSON S CAREER STATS / / / Career 34/ Russ Richardson provides experienced depth to Indiana s defensive line, having played 34 games in his first three seasons. Richardson started five of the 11 games he played in during the 2004 season and finished third on the team with three sacks. He had a pair of tackles and a sack in the season opener against Central Michigan and followed that up with two tack- 70

21 les and a forced fumble in the Hoosiers win at then-no. 24 Oregon. He posted three games on the season with a trio of tackles: against Michigan, Penn State and at Purdue. In the season finale against the Boilermakers, he had two tackles for loss, including a quarterback sack. He saw action in all 12 games (259 snaps) in 2003, including a season-high 46 snaps against Northwestern. Richardson posted a season-high four tackles in the season opener at Connecticut and had a tackle for loss at Washington. He saw extensive action for Indiana as a true freshman. After not playing in the Hoosiers first game against William & Mary, Richardson started Indiana s final 11 games at nose tackle. The Phoenix, Ariz., native played 662 snaps of game action in He ranked second among true freshmen in total snaps taken. Richardson made 15 solo tackles and 21 total tackles as a true freshman. He also had 1.5 tackles for loss for a total of seven yards lost. One of his tackles for loss was a sack. He recovered one fumble for the Hoosiers as well. He was the only true freshman to see action on the defensive line in He prepped at Phoenix Christian High School, where he set the Arizona state record with a bench press of 425 pounds for the teenage 275 pound weight class. Richardson signed his letter of intent in the Hoosier Café in Phoenix. Over his three seasons, Richardson recorded 300 tackles and 31 sacks in leading Phoenix Christian to a 43-5 record, including a state championship in He was the Metro Defensive Player of the Year, a two-time all-state, a two-time all-arizona and a three-time all-region. Richardson was a member of the National Honor Society, an Arizona Scholar Athlete and a National High School Football and College Football Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete. The son of Duane and Cindi Richardson was born on May 4, He has two sisters. His father is an accomplished hunter and has been featured on ESPN Outdoors. DREWROBBINS KICKER Sophomore 91 COLUMBUS, IND./COLUMBUS NORTH Sophomore kicker Drew Robbins did not see game action during the 2004 season. Robbins redshirted the 2003 season after walking-on. During his high school career, Robbins made 11-of-16 field goals and 57-of-60 PATs. Robbins was named honorable mention all-state and all-area team in both his junior and senior years. He was selected to the all-conference Indiana squad as a senior and was a three-year letterwinner in track. Robbins was born on March 30, 1985 to Michael and Diane Robbins and has two siblings, Eric and Laura. He scored his first touchdown of the season on a 12-yard reception at home against Michigan State. The tight end posted his second score of the year in an upset of then-no. 23 Minnesota on a 6-yard catch. He registered his best game of the season at Illinois with career highs in catches, with six, and yards receiving, with 62. Closed the year with three catches for 47 yards in season finale at Purdue. The Sussex, N.J., product made an impact as a true freshman in Rudanovic started against both Michigan and Illinois and finished the season with three catches for 40 yards. He made a season-long 21-yard grab against Kentucky. He also made receptions against Ohio State and Penn State. Rudanovic played in 11 of Indiana s 12 contests and saw a season-high 25 snaps at Penn State. Rudanovic caught 20 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown as a senior and helped High Point to a league title as a junior. JOHNATHANSANDBERG OFFENSIVE LINE Sophomore-R 50 MONON, IND./NORTH WHITE SANDBERG S CAREER STATS Year GAMES PLAYED GAMES STARTED Offensive lineman John Sandberg played all 11 games from his offensive line position in 2004 with one start at Purdue. A two-way standout at his Class A North White High School, Sandberg played left tackle and defensive tackle, and also handled kickoff and place kicking duties. He appeared in all 11 games on the year and played a season-high 32 snaps at home against Michigan State. Had one reception for four yards in the season opener versus Central Michigan and posted two tackles on the year, one against Minnesota, and one at Illinois. Sears redshirted in The fullback holds the Greenfield Central High School record for rushing yards and touchdowns in a season and career. He also owns records for career rushing attempts and touchdowns in a single game with six. Sears, a walk-on, was a letterwinner in football, basketball and baseball, a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. During his football career, he rushed for a total of 3,485 yards, 1,730 of those coming during his senior season. Sears was captain of the football team his junior and senior years as well as being named to the Hoosier Heritage Conference team. He was selected as the 2002 Most Valuable Player and was named to the all-state squad. The Greenfield, Ind., native was born on March 14, 1985 to Michael and Melia and is studying accounting at Indiana. NICKSEXTON TIGHT END Sophomore 88 BLOOMINGTON, IND./NORTH Nick Sexton played in seven games during the 2004 year and was used mainly on the special teams unit. He redshirted in 2003 due to injury. Sexton was ranked as the No. 78 wide receiver in the nation by Rivals.com. Chosen as the 10th-best player in the state of Indiana by Rivals.com and the No. 77 player in the Midwest region by SuperPrep, Sexton also was honored as a PrepStar All-Region selection in addition to special mention honors on the 2001 Herald-Times Junior All-State team. Sexton led North in both receiving and scoring with 31 catches for a school-record 692 yards and a school-record 10 touchdowns. Sexton had seven touchdowns as a junior. GREENWOOD, IND./CENTER GROVE SKELTON S CAREER STATS / / Career 18/ Junior Ryan Skelton played in all 11 games during the 2004 campaign and was honored with the 2004 Indiana Outstanding Special Teams Player Award. Skelton had six tackles on the season, including two against Michigan State. He saw action in over 200 game snaps on the year and played a season-high 34 in the opener against Central Michigan. One of the 12 true freshmen to see playing time for Indiana in 2003, Skelton played in seven games and started the Indiana State contest. He had a career-high three tackles at Washington and added two stops against the Sycamores. Skelton played in 110 snaps overall, including 46 against Indiana State and 22 against Ohio State. A first team all-state selection in his senior year, Ryan Skelton was a finalist for the Mr. Football award in the state of Indiana and was tabbed as the state's top defensive back. He has run a yard dash. He had 11 interceptions, 59 solo tackles and 39 assists as a senior. He also had 10 blocked kicks. Skelton scored touchdowns rushing, receiving, on a punt return, on a kick return and on an interception return. ISAACSOWELLS OFFENSIVE LINE Senior 76 LOUISVILLE, KY./DOSS SOWELLS CAREER STATS Year GAMES PLAYED GAMES STARTED Redshirted Career Senior left tackle Isaac Sowells is considered one of Indiana s top prospects to move on to the NFL. He started the first four games of 2004 before his year was cut short with a season-ending wrist injury. Sowells had been an anchor at the left tackle position having started 16 straight games before his injury. Sowells ranked second on the team in total snaps played as 72

23 a sophomore in He was on the field for 967 snaps of game action as a sophomore, including a season-high 93 at Penn State. He played in all 12 games for the Hoosiers in 2002 and was listed as the second team left guard for each of those contests. The Louisville, Ky., native saw 337 snaps of game action in He started the season only playing seven snaps against William & Mary, but saw that number increase throughout the year. He played a season-high 52 snaps against both Illinois and Michigan State. He also saw 51 snaps at Kentucky. He played in 20 or more snaps in eight of the 12 games. Sowells spent his first year (2001) in Bloomington as a redshirt. Before coming to Indiana, Sowells prepped at Doss High School where he was a four-year starter at tackle and defensive end. During his senior season, he recorded 12 solo tackles against eventual Class 4A State Champion Male High School. He also played basketball and competed in track and field. He was a participant at the Kentucky State Track and Field Meet in the shot put. Sowells is a general studies major at Indiana. The son of Dwaina Brooks and Alfred Sowells was born on May 4, 1982 in Louisville, Ky. He has two sisters. AUSTINSTARR KICKER Freshman-R 44 LOGANSPORT, IND./LOGANSPORT Redshirt freshman Austin Star sat out the 2004 season as a true freshman after walking on to the team at the beginning of summer camp. He was selected to the Indiana Football Coaches Assocation All-Star Game and earned honorable mention All- North Central Conference honors as a senior. Starr played for coach Elmer Britton at Logansport. ALEXSTSCHERBAN FULLBACK Junior 45 MISHAWAKA, IND./PENN Redshirt junior fullback Alex Stscherban did not see any game action during the 2004 season. Stscherban made two catches out of the backfield for 14 yards as a redshirt freshman in The second team fullback for most of the year, Stscherban did not have any carries. He saw 128 snaps of game action, with the bulk of his time coming late in the year. Stscherban had 37 snaps against Minnesota, 45 at Penn State and 37 against Purdue. He redshirted as a true freshman in The Mishawaka, Ind., native played for Indiana high school football powerhouse Penn High School. He played tight end, catching eight passes for 128 yards and one touchdown in helping Penn to the 2001 state championship. He was selected all-state and all-area. Stscherban also played baseball at Penn. He was an outfielder on the 2001 state championship baseball team. Stscherban was an academic all-state selection as a senior. The son of Paul and Kathy Stscherban was born on March 24, 1984 and has one brother. His grandfather, John Ray, was former defensive coordinator under Ara Parsigian at Notre Dame and also was a head coach at Kentucky and defensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills. Taylor opened the year with 53 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown against Central Michigan. He scored his second touchdown of the season, the next game, on a two-yard plunge at Kentucky. He snagged one of his four receptions of the year for a career-long 39 yards at Illinois. Taylor totaled 53 yards on nine carries against a tough Ohio State defense and posted a season-high 15 rushes for 46 yards versus Penn State. He closed the year with nine carries for 48 yards and a touchdown at Purdue. Taylor has been consistent out of the backfield over the last two seasons averaging 4.0 yards per carry in 2003 and In the three-back rotation utilized by the Hoosiers in 2003, Taylor carried the ball 116 times for 464 yards and three touchdowns. Taylor rushed for a season-high 90 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown against Indiana State and had 13 carries for 73 yards at Connecticut (5.6 avg.) He originally was slated to redshirt after the first three games of his freshman season of 2002, but due to an injury to 73

24 Brian Lewis, Taylor had to become Indiana s second tailback. He played six games in his freshman campaign and led all true freshmen in rushing. The Memphis, Tenn., native saw action in 143 snaps in He was the Hoosiers second-string tailback behind Yamar Washington for the second half of the season. Taylor saw 30 snaps of action against Utah, the Hoosiers second game of the season and the first of his career. He was on the field for six plays against Kentucky before suffering an injury. He missed the next five games with the intention of redshirting. He recovered from his injury and was reinserted into the lineup at Northwestern. Taylor responded in his first game back by posting his first 100-yard rushing game. He registered 102 yards with a touchdown on a career-best 21 carries. Yamar Washington also tallied over 100 yards against the Wildcats, marking the first time in IU history that two freshmen rushed for 100 yards in a game. He rushed for 229 yards on 48 carries with two touchdowns on the season. Taylor prepped at Cordova High School before coming to Indiana. Taylor was an honorable mention All-State selection, a two-time All-Region selection and a member of All-Memphis Metro Team. Washington totaled 30 yards on six carries in the season opener against Central Michigan and scored his lone touchdown of the season on a one-yard run. He missed the 2003 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament one day prior to the 2003 spring game. Washington led the Hoosiers in rushing in his redshirt freshman campaign of 2002 en route to earning Big Ten All- Freshman honors from The Sporting News. The Houston, Texas, native played 455 snaps of game action in After not playing in the season opener, Washington fought his way into the lineup and started the third game of the season against Kentucky registering a season-high 73 snaps and a career-best 32 carries. He started the next three games before Brian Lewis returned from injury. The two split time against Iowa, but an injury at Illinois forced Lewis to miss the remainder of the season and Washington capitalized by starting the team s final four games. He rushed for 688 yards on 174 carries and scored a teambest nine touchdowns on the season. Washington rushed for over 100 yards in three games including a career-best 163 yards at Kentucky. He became the first Hoosier freshman since 1994 to rush for 100 yards in back-to-back games when he followed up his Kentucky game with 129 yards against Central Michigan. Washington redshirted his freshman year (2001) due to a broken ankle. Before coming to Indiana, he prepped at Klein Forest High School. He was named Offensive Player of the Year by the Greater Houston Touchdown Club in He started his career at St. Pius High School where he rushed for 4,518 yards and 52 touchdowns during his freshman (1997) and sophomore (1998) seasons. Washington transferred to Klein Forest High School for his junior season (1999) and totaled 2,617 yards and 28 touchdowns in his final two seasons. He had 1,712 on 225 carries as a senior (2000) at Klein Forest. He also competed in track and played basketball in high school. Washington was a 2002 Academic All-Big Ten selection.
