If only one player shows, the opposing team has the option but is not required to play (3) single games for individual records only. A4. The visiting team receives their assigned table at 6:15 and 7:45 (if available) for practice. A5. In the event of severe weather conditions, the club will be notified by 5:00 pm to postpone that weeks match. This match will then be rescheduled at the end of the regular season. A6. Each team roster may consist of a maximum of 16 players. Rosters are open and player(s) can be added or substituted until December 31st as long as space is available on your existing roster. The official roster will be posted at the club. A sub list will also be posted at the club. Any team may use any player on the sub list to avoid forfeits on any regular match night. The sub-list may not be used in the playoffs or the championship match. A7. The League MVP will be determined by highest winning percentage of all regular season games played including bonus points. A bonus point will be awarded for an (8) ball run. (8-Ball Run defined; when a player runs down to and legally pockets the 8-ball after his first called shot during the game). When a player achieves an 8-ball run, that player will receive an additional Bonus point win in their personal standings record. To be eligible for the League MVP award a player must shoot a minimum of 25 games. In the event of a tie in the standings for League MVP, the tie breaking system listed below shall be used. The player with the most games played wins MVP If a tie still exists, the players will share the MVP award. A8. If a dispute occurs during the match, the captains may refer to the rules to resolve the dispute. If an agreement can not be reached by the captains they are to call the League Officer. The League Officer s decision is final. A9. All members of the league are responsible for their actions and conduct. Anyone who causes any trouble will be automatically suspended from the league and reported to the club officers for possible loss of club membership. A10. Any team that does not have a representative at any of the league meetings must abide by the decisions ruled on at those meetings. Each team is entitled to one vote per team. A11. The league standings will be based on all matches won. A match is won when either team wins 5 games. All (9) games will be played out for the tracking of Individual records (League MVP) and tie breaking per A14. A12. No player shall be allowed to change teams during the regular season after he shoots for any given team. A13. In the event a team drops out of the league before December 31st that team automatically forfeits all remaining matches. The team standings will then be adjusted as if that match was a bye for the entire season. All individual games played shall remain as is for individual records only.

2 A14. In the event of a tie in the standings between any two teams at the end of the regular season, the tie breaking system below shall be used: Each team will compare their records for total of all Games Won during the regular season. Whoever has the most total Game Wins prevails. If there is a tie, each team is to compare Match Wins against each other in the regular season; whoever has the most Match Wins prevails. A15. League Season Champion & Playoff Champion The Team with the best record at the end of the regular season will awarded League Season Champion. In the event of a tie, the tie breaker format outlined in A14 is to be used. The playoffs and the championship match schedule will be posted prior to the start of the playoffs. All playoff & Championship games will be played on a Tuesday night. All 8 teams will advance into the playoffs. All Playoff and Championship Matches are a race to (5). Do not play out the remaining games. The regular season standings will determine the seeding. The lower seed number (as assigned) is always the home team. All Playoff & Playoff Championship matches are a race to 5 and are not played out. A standard 8 team single elimination bracket will be used for the playoffs. The lower seeded team is always the home team. Playoff Championship Match format: Race to 2 or best of 3 matches. The lower seeded Team during the regular season is the Home Team the first match, the Away Team the second match and the Home Team the third match if required. Playoff Championship matches will be played in one night if possible starting at 6:30 pm. If the Second game is not completed by 9:00pm and a third game is required it will be played at 6:30pm the following week. A16. Any team using players that are not listed on their roster or the sub list shall forfeit the games played. A17. A 50 /50 will be held during each set of matches. (1) For the 6:30pm match and (1) for the 8:00pm match. The home team of Table 1 will be responsible to run the 50/50 at each said match. All monies collected will be turned over to the League Secretary - Treasurer for awards and a player s banquet following the season. Table 1 is the pool table closest to the main entrance. A18. There will the following league meetings in which all captains are expected to attend: Prior to the regular season During the half time break At the conclusion of the league A19. If a forfeit of any game occurs during the match the Team will receive a win for that game, however, the player assigned to that game will not receive a win in his individual statistics. A20. All match sheets are to be turned in to a League Officer or the bartender at the conclusion of play for record keeping. B: League Rules of Play:

3 B1. A match will consist of (9) games, (3) three game sets. A match is won when either team wins 5 games. However, all games will be played and recorded for individual standings and tie breaking purposes. B2. The center of the spot is the head string. After a scratch, the shooting player may shoot at any object ball as long as the base of the object ball is on or below the head string. The base of the ball (the point of the ball touching the table) determines whether it is above or below the head string. B3. Team captains will sign up their players according to the match sheet per the following. The visiting team will show the home team the first 3 players for the 1 st set, and then the home team may assign his players accordingly. Next, the home team will show the visiting team the second (3) players for the 2 nd set and then the visiting team may assign his players accordingly. For the 3 rd and final set, the last (3) players will be signed up 1 player at a time with the visiting showing his player first, then alternate thereafter. B4. Any player may only shoot 1 game per (3) game set. B5. All shots must be called verbally. No shot is obvious. The shooter needs to call Ball and Pocket, not kisses and banks. B6. The eight ball may be spotted after a scratch if it is behind the head string and the shooter has no other balls on the table. It is the shooters option if he wants the ball spotted. B7. Once a player breaks, the shooter has the choice to shoot at either high or low regardless of what balls went in during the break. The shooter must call and pocket a legal shot to own high or low balls. If he misses his shot the next player must call and pocket a legal shot before he owns high or lows. This continues until a legal shot is called and made. B8. If the 8-ball is pocketed on the break, breaker may ask for a re-rack or have the 8-ball spotted and continue shooting. If the breaker scratches while pocketing the 8-ball on the break, the incoming player has the option of having the balls re-racked and shooting the opening break or to have the 8-ball spotted and begin shooting with ball in hand behind the head string. B9. If a player jumps an object ball off the table during his shot, it is a foul and the incoming player has the option of (1) accepting the table in position and shooting, or (2) taking cue ball in hand behind the head string and shooting. All balls are to be spotted. If it is the 8 ball the shooter loses the game. B10. Any ball or balls that are accidentally moved by the person that is shooting, the opposing player has the option of (1) put the ball or balls back in the original position and resume play or (2) accepting the table in position and resume play. However, if multiple numbered balls were moved to the extent where the opposing player is unable to determine the original position of the balls, the opposing player may request the game to be replayed. B11. A split hit is a bad hit. This may only be called by the opposing player. If the player shooting has a doubt about a hit he may ask the captains of both teams to watch the shot. B12. No player may talk to any other player during a game for advice or coaching. Both captains may be called upon to clarify a questioned rule at any time. B13. When shooting a combination shot, you must hit your own ball first. The 8 ball is not neutral. B14. If you run the table down to the eight ball, you must hit the eight ball or you lose. If your opponent hides any part of the eight ball (in other words, if you cant see 100% of the eight ball from the site line of the cue ball) you don t have to hit it. B15. No jump shots allowed. Masse shots may not have the butt of the cue perpendicular to the playing surface. This rule is to protect the table surface. B16. The World Standardized Rules of 8-Ball from The Billiard Congress of America will be used only to settle any disputes or rulings not specifically covered by our League Rules of Play.

Please direct questions regarding interpretation of the following, or information on how to receive the current BCA Billiards - The Official Rules and Records Book to the Billiard Congress of America. "Effective January 1, 2006" Except when clearly contradicted by these additional rules, the General Rules of Pocket Billiards apply. 4.1 OBJECT OF THE GAME Eight-Ball is a call shot game played with a cue ball and 15 object balls, numbered 1 through 15. One player must pocket balls of the group numbered 1 through 7 (solid colors), while the other player has 9 through 15 (stripes). The player pocketing either group first, and then legally pocketing the 8-ball wins the game. 4.2 CALL SHOT In Call Shot, obvious balls and pockets do not have to be indicated. It is the opponent s right to ask which ball and pocket if he is unsure of the shot. Bank shots and combination shots are not considered obvious, and care should be taken in calling both the object ball and the intended pocket. When calling the shot, it is never necessary to indicate details such as the number of cushions, banks, kisses, caroms, etc. Any balls pocketed on a foul remain pocketed, regardless of whether they belong to the shooter or the opponent. The opening break is not a called shot. Any player performing a break shot in 8-Ball may continue to shoot so long as any object ball is legally pocketed on the break. 4.3 RACKING THE BALLS The balls are racked in a triangle at the foot of the table with the 8-ball in the center of the triangle, the first ball of the rack on the foot spot, a stripe ball in one corner of the rack and a solid ball in the other corner. 4.4 ORDER OF BREAK Winner of the lag has the option to break. The winner of each game breaks in the next. The following are common options that may be designated by tournament officials in advance: (a) (b) Players alternate break. Loser breaks.

5 (c) Player trailing in game count breaks the next game. 4.5 LEGAL BREAK SHOT (Defined) To execute a legal break, the breaker (with the cue ball behind the head string) must either (1) pocket a ball, or (2) drive at least four numbered balls to the rail. When the breaker fails to make a legal break, it is a foul, and the incoming player has the option of (1) accepting the table in position and shooting, or (2) having the balls re-racked and having the option of shooting the opening break or allowing the offending player to re-break. 4.6 SCRATCH ON A LEGAL BREAK If a player scratches on a legal break shot, (1) all balls pocketed remain pocketed (exception, the 8-ball: see rule 4.8), (2) it is a foul, (3) the table is open. Please Note: The incoming player has cue ball in hand behind the head string and may not shoot an object ball that is behind the head string, unless he first shoots the cue ball past the head string and causes the cue ball to come back behind the head string and hit the object ball. 4.7 OBJECT BALLS JUMPED OFF TABLE ON THE BREAK If a player jumps an object ball off the table on the break shot, it is a foul and the incoming player has the option of (1) accepting the table in position and shooting, or (2) taking cue ball in hand behind the head string and shooting BALL POCKETED ON THE BREAK If the 8-ball is pocketed on the break, breaker may ask for a re-rack or have the 8-ball spotted and continue shooting. If the breaker scratches while pocketing the 8-ball on the break, the incoming player has the option of a re-rack or having the 8-ball spotted and begins shooting with ball in hand behind the head string. 4.9 OPEN TABLE (Defined) The table is "open" when the choice of groups (stripes or solids) has not yet been determined. When the table is open, it is legal to hit a solid first to make a stripe or vice-versa. Note: The table is always open immediately after the break shot. When the table is open, it is legal to hit any solid or stripe first in the process of pocketing the called stripe or solid. However, when the table is open and the 8-ball is the first ball contacted, it is a foul and no stripe or solid may be scored in favor of the shooter. The shooter loses his turn; the incoming player is awarded cue ball in hand; any balls pocketed remain pocketed; and the incoming player addresses the balls with the table still open. On an open table, all illegally pocketed balls remain pocketed CHOICE OF GROUP The choice of stripes or solids is not determined on the break even if balls are made from only one or both groups, because the table is always open immediately after the break shot. The choice of group is determined only when a player legally pockets a called object ball after the break shot. If the groups have been determined and the player mistakenly shoots at and pockets a ball of the group, the opponent must call a foul on him before he takes his next shot. If he fails to do so, the player automatically takes over the group of balls (solids or stripes) at which he has been shooting during this inning.

6 4.11 LEGAL SHOT (Defined) On all shots (except on the break and when the table is open), the shooter must hit one of his group of balls first and (1) pocket a numbered ball, or (2) cause the cue ball or any numbered ball to contact a rail. Please Note: It is permissible for the shooter to bank the cue ball off a rail before contacting the object ball; however, after contact with the object ball, an object ball must be pocketed, or the cue ball or any numbered ball must contact a rail. Failure to meet these requirements is a foul SAFETY SHOT For tactical reasons, a player may choose to pocket an obvious object ball and also discontinue a turn at the table by declaring safety in advance. A safety shot is defined as a legal shot. If the shooting player intends to play safe by pocketing an obvious object ball, then prior to the shot, the shooter must declare a safety to the opponent. It is the shooter s responsibility to make the opponent aware of the intended safety shot. If this is not done, and one of the shooter s object balls is pocketed, the shooter will be required to shoot again. Any ball pocketed on a safety shot remains pocketed SCORING A player is entitled to continue shooting until failing to legally pocket a ball of his group. After a player has legally pocketed all of his group of balls, he shoots to pocket the 8-ball FOUL PENALTY Opposing player gets cue ball in hand. This means that the player can place the cue ball anywhere on the table (does not have to be behind the headstring except on opening break). This rule prevents a player from making intentional fouls which would put an opponent at a disadvantage. With cue ball in hand, the player may use a hand or any part of a cue (including the tip) to position the cue ball. When placing the cue ball in position, any forward stroke motion contacting the cue ball will be a foul, if not a legal shot. (Also see Rule 3.39.) 4.15 COMBINATION SHOTS Combination shots are allowed; however, the 8-ball can t be used as a first ball in the combination unless it is the shooter s only remaining legal object ball on the table. Otherwise, should such contact occur on the 8-ball, it is a foul ILLEGALLY POCKETED BALLS An object ball is considered to be illegally pocketed when (1) that object ball is pocketed on the same shot a foul is committed, or (2) the called ball did not go in the designated pocket, or (3) a safety is called prior to the shot. Illegally pocketed balls remain pocketed and are scored in favor of the shooter controlling that specific group of balls, solids or stripes OBJECT BALLS JUMPED OFF THE TABLE If any object ball is jumped off the table, it is a foul and loss of turn, unless it is the 8-ball, which is a loss of game. Any jumped object balls are not re-spotted JUMP AND MASSÉ SHOT FOUL While cue ball fouls only is the rule of play when a match is not presided over by a referee, a player should be aware that it will be considered a cue ball foul if during an attempt to jump, curve or massé the cue ball over or around an impeding numbered ball that is not a legal object ball, the impeding ball moves (regardless of whether it was moved by a hand, cue stick follow-through or bridge).

7 4.19 PLAYING THE 8-BALL When the 8-ball is the legal object ball, a scratch or foul is not loss of game if the 8-ball is not pocketed or jumped from the table. Incoming player has cue ball in hand. Note: A combination shot can never be used to legally pocket the 8-ball, except when the 8-ball is the first ball contacted in the shot sequence LOSS OF GAME A player loses the game by committing any of the following infractions: 1. Fouls when pocketing the 8-ball (exception: see 8-Ball Pocketed On The Break). 2. Pockets the 8-ball on the same stroke as the last of his group of balls. 3. Jumps the 8-ball off the table at any time. 4. Pockets the 8-ball in a pocket other than the one designated. 5. Pockets the 8-ball when it is not the legal object ball. Note: All infractions must be called before another shot is taken, or else it will be deemed that no infraction occurred. STALEMATED GAME If, after 3 consecutive turns at the table by each player (6 turns total), the referee judges that attempting to pocket or move an object ball will result in loss of game, the balls will be re-racked with the original breaker of the stalemated game breaking again. The stalemate rule may be applied regard-less of the number of balls on the table. Please Note: Three consecutive fouls by one player in 8-ball is not a loss of game.
