2 NA Prep Hockey Elite Development Hockey is the culmination of player skills, attitude and desire, coupled with the coaching experience, training and dedication to form a team to play competitively against teams from other associations. Elite Development Teams play in a league or competes in tournaments that permits players to play against players of equal ability. It permits each player to improve his/her skills and character to play at the next higher individual and team skill level. Objectives This document outlines the proposal to the North American Preparatory Hockey Academy to be the governing body for the NA Prep Wild Development Program. NA Prep is a category A, meaning it does not have the numbers or skill level to be AA. However, with our training methods and player development opportunities we are optimistic about the ability to compete at the "AA" level by the spring of Montana Amateur Hockey Association has developed a process to enable Montana's more committed athletes to compete at the highest level during the regular season months. NA Prep supports that mandate and strives to offer our Montana athletes a variety of playing opportunities based on the needs of the player and the teams involved. North American Prep: Is open to all players and the focus on moving players through the system to the next level. NORTH AMERICAN PREPARTORY HOCKEY ACADEMY OBJECTIVES: To promote, encourage and facilitate the sport of hockey within the state of Montana To exercise a general supervision, direction and control over the playing interest of its players, coaches, managers, with an emphasis on sportsmanship, discipline, and SAFETY while developing the proper fundamentals of the sport of hockey. To act as the governing body of amateur hockey in Montana in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by MAHA's High Performance Track. It is the objective of the NA Prep Development Program to provide an atmosphere for elite development and competition for athletes while fostering an environment of shared respect and to promote the physical, mental, and social development of players.

4 NA Prep Hockey PROGRAM GOALS The objective of the Development program is to give the opportunity for players that are looking for more hockey to train and compete at an elevated level of hockey and thus giving the potential for progression into AAA hockey (or beyond). 5 PLAYER AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM The entire program is based on a building block system with each level feeding into the next. We will accomplish this by identifying the key areas of focus for each age group to develop strong, intelligent and committed hockey players. Coach Selection NA Prep Hockey Coach selection is one of the most important aspects that affect a hockey team. It is our objective to select coaches that will have the greatest benefit to the players in the program, and meet the coaching requirements and the mandate of the NA Prep Hockey Program in an unbiased manner. In an effort to provide a quality hockey program, Rockets Hockey will select coaches it feels best meet the objectives of the program offered, governing bodies, and game itself. Coaches will be selected on the basis of four categories. These categories, in no particular order include: 1. Certification 2. Experience 3. Historical Performance 4. How they relate to (communicate with) players On-Ice Hockey Program 24+ hrs. of on-ice training and player development. 4+ hrs. of off-ice training (N.A.'s SPARQ player training program) 12+ Games 2-3 "High Level" Tournaments (2 in Canada, 1 in California) Uniforms (professional game jersey, socks, shells, practice jersey and practice socks) Coaches fees: (On/Off-ice instruction, Ice time, travel and lodging) 4+ hrs. of mästare Performance (NA Preps Player Mental/Leadership Program) 4+hrs. Ultimate team building activities Player Mentorship Each practice has a minimum of 2 coaches, including 1 Goalie coach Off-Ice Conditioning Program Professional off-ice off-ice training Aerobic and anaerobic workouts Strength and conditioning program Pre and post game stretching strategies Nutrition and supplement guidance

6 Mental Training NA Prep Hockey Goal setting Self Discipline Self Confidence Team Building Positive Reinforcement Self Motivation Social Development Social consciousness is a quality that hockey envelops. It is expected that our players will give back to the community and outlying areas that they are playing for. Example Players helping out with mites/squirts/pee wees/ tournaments or practices. Neighboring Association Involvement NA Preps Hockey program cannot be successful without the neighboring association s involvement. These teams are not the property of one local minor hockey association but are the result of many associations working together to allow their elite players the opportunity to play at a high level of hockey. Each association has helped developed these players to the level they are at and should be commended for doing a good job at that. To give back to associations that are feeding into this system, it is proposed that some development weekends be played in the player s home towns. This will give the opportunity for the local hockey association to bear witness to the success of their programs and for the town to feel the pride that they deserve. NA Prep's Development Program will ensure EVERY player on the team pursues their personal goals within the team environment and no one individual is more important than the team.
