1 SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS 1 A) SIZE GROUPINGS 25 BU and under 30 BU 25cm and under to 30cm MINI CHAMPION 35 BU 40BU 35 cm to 40 cm BABY CHAMPION 45 BU 50 BU 45 cm to 50 cm YOUNG CHAMPION 55 BU 60 BU 55 cm to 60 cm ADULT CHAMPION 65 BU 65 cm GRAND CHAMPION 1 B) KOI ENTRY (i) IN PVC BAG 25BU and under ~ 65BU. IN & OUT on same day Kois are entered and judged in official PVC bags provided by the club. Kois photos and registration must be submitted ON-LINE by THURSDAY, Dec 7 th. Kois shall be benched and de-benched on SUNDAY (see item 7) after completion of judging or to owner s tank. CHARGES FOR KOI ENTRY (PVC BAG) Size (BU) 25 & under to 65 In PVC Bag RM150 Holding tanks can be provided (on 1 st come 1 st served basis) for OUTSTATION entries of 6 kois and above.. Note: Any participant who wishes to change name of Koi ownership after registration, shall be required to apply to Show Chairman before the official announcement of Koi Show winners. An administrative charge of RM per Koi is imposed. The change of name shall be effected after payment is made at the show ground. (Change of ownership is not encouraged by the Club). 2) The closing date for all entries is THURSDAY, Dec 7 th 2018.

2 i. The competition is open to all and is on a first come first served basis. ii. The show committee reserves the right NOT to accept any Koi entry application submitted even though cheque has been forwarded or monies paid. Any inconvenience caused is regretted. 3) Late entries may be submitted (subject to approval) after the closing date but a late entry fee of 2 times the normal fee will be imposed. However, your co-operation is requested in getting the entries in as soon as possible to assist in our logistic / operations. 4) PAYMENT All completed Entries shall be submitted with a cheque made payable to Kelab Ikan Koi ZNA Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur or a bank in slip to MBB must be scanned and submitted ON-LINEwww.zna-my.com: Entries without proof of bank-in-slip to Club s account will not be accepted. 5) KOI PHOTOGRAPHS Participants should submit photographs of their Koi ONLINE. Photograph should clearly show the Koi occupying at least two-thirds of the photograph. Only blue colored tubs should be used as background. The same photographs may be printed on all Prize Winning Plaques. KOI WITHOUT PROPER PHOTOGRAPHS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION. 6) The sizes of Koi shall be stated by the competitor and is on a self-declaration basis. If sizing is found to be larger than declared, the Koi will be disqualified and will not be eligible for any prize award. Participants are urged to be accurate in their sizing at benching. The show committee may check the size of Koi during benching for judging. Participants shall provide their own measuring tub, failing which; the show s official communal tub shall be used. Oversized Koi shall be disqualified / rejected. Kois that are not measured by participants will also be rejected. 7) BENCHING Benchingfor Kois will be from (7:00am to 9:00am) on Sun, Dec Participants or their handlers shall commence bagging kois in this size division in the official PVC bags within the allotted time. Participants shall stick the Barcode sticker or use waterproof marker pen to mark on the side of each bag clearly to identify participant s ID number,koi identity #, size and variety.they should be placed on the demarcated blue colour floor area, according to the variety and size division indicated on the floor. Kois which are not bagged up and placed properly at the designated area, shall not be judged, hence shall receive no prize. Should there be any queries raised regarding the classification and size category, please notify the Benching Head, or any Show Committee members immediately. The Show Committee reserves the right to reject and/or remove any Koi, which is found to be sick, diseased, deformed or unsuitable for the show.

3 After judging, NO Koi is to be removed or placed back into their respective tank, without the permission, verification and escort by the designated Koi show officer. 8) TANK & WATER MANAGEMENT The show Committee will provide fresh water to participants during the show. Participants are to look after their own kois in their own tank, including the removal of faeces or dirty water and prohibited from making contacts or mixing of kois at the show ground. Participants or handlers shall not tamper with and/or add any substances into the water. The show Committee shall not be held responsible for any loss, damages or death of kois. The participant is required to make available all the necessary equipment, particularly their own benching tub/measuring tub (marked with their tank number/s on the tub with permanent marker), and to be on hand to show their Koi to the judges when so required during judging. (Note: The participant is not allowed in judging area during judging, unless their presence is requested by the show committee). The participant shall use their own net for their own tank only. The participant / handler are not permitted to discharge any water into trenches or wet the floor in the show ground. The floor must be kept dry at all time. 9) Participants are not allowed to remove any Koi from the showground unless approval has been obtained from the Show Chairman. Such permission will only be given when the Koi is critically ill. 10) Participants are recommended not to feed their Koi for at least 7 days prior to the show. This is to prevent pollution of the water, which may endanger the health of Kois in the display tank. 11) Kois can only be removed from the showground on Sun, Dec after 4.00 p.m. The Show Committee will not be responsible for any Koi not collected after the specified time. 12) After the judging has been completed, all prize winners may check the on-line. Should there be any error, please inform the Registration CounterImmediately. 13) In the event of any dispute, the Show Committee shall be the sole authority for the Interpretation of Rules and Regulations. The judge s decision is final.

4 14) Please observe strictly the above Benching and De-benching requirements and any other ruling that may be displayed at the show ground. 15) The Prize Presentation for major prizes will be carried out at the show venue on Sunday, Dec Participants are kindly requested to be properly attired when receiving prizes. All Prize Winners are requested to be present but should they be unable to attend, they may nominate another ADULT to collect the prizes on their behalf. Please note that the Show Committee cannot be held responsible for any unclaimed prizes. All major prize winners (all the champions) are encouraged to submit the owner s personal photograph to the Koi Club within 2 weeks after the show. This is to facilitate the publication in the next show Magazine or Nichirin magazine where possible. 5 JUDGING PROCEDURES JUDGES Judges shall comprise of qualified ZNA Judges led by the ZNA Head Judge. Only qualified judges are allowed to vote. The team may comprise of trainee judges who are merely observers. GRAND CHAMPION (A) GOSANKE Candidate will be selected from the top five (5) Kois from 65 BU. The 3 best Kois out of 5 shall be shortlisted. The GRAND CHAMPION,followed by the 1 ST RUNNER UP are selected by secret ballot from the 3 best Kois. GRAND CHAMPION (B) NON-GOSANKE Candidate will be selected from the top five (5) Kois from 65BU and above. The 3 best Kois out of 5 shall be shortlisted. The GRAND CHAMPION,followed by the 1 ST RUNNER UP are selected by secret ballot from the 3 best Kois. CHAMPION MALE (A) GOSANKE KOI Candidate will be selected from MALE Gosanke Kois from 60BU onwards. The CHAMPION is selected from the 3 best Kois. RESERVE CHAMPION - MALE (A) GOSANKE KOI Candidate will be selected from MALE Gosanke Kois from 60BU onwards. The RESERVE CHAMPION is selected from the 2 best Kois. CHAMPION MALE (B) NON-GOSANKE KOI Candidate will be selected from MALE Non-Gosanke Kois from 60BU onwards. The CHAMPION is selected from the 3 best Kois. RESERVE CHAMPION MALE (B) NON-GOSANKE KOI Candidate will be selected from MALE Non-Gosanke Kois from 60BU onwards. The RESERVE CHAMPION is selected from the 2 best Kois. ALL CATEGORIES KOI JUDGING Kois are selected for the top three places for each variety within their respective size groupings. The selected Koi must be truly representative of the respective variety and should the Koi not meet the required standard; the judges may at their discretion, not to award any prize. BEST IN SIZE GOSANKE (25BU AND UNDER TO 65 BU) The Best-in-size for the Gosanke (Kohaku, Sanke, Showa,) for each of the above indicated size only. The best in size shall be selected from all the 1 st place winners of all varieties. (For the 65 BU, if the 3rd placing in the selection of Grand Champion (A) is 65BU it shall automatically become the Best in size for 65BU). BEST IN SIZE - NON-GOSANKE (25BU AND UNDER TO 65 BU) The Best-in-size for the Non-Gosanke for each of the above indicated size only. The best in size shall be selected from all the 1 st place winners of Non-Gosanke varieties. The best in size shall be selected from all the 1 st place winners of all varieties. (For the 65 BU, if the 3rd placing in the selection of Grand Champion (B) is 65BU it shall automatically become the Best in size for 65BU). ADULT CHAMPION (A) & (B) Judges will select one Koi from the Best-In-Size winners of 55BU to 60BU. The Head Judge will have casting vote in the event of a tie. YOUNG CHAMPION (A) & (B) Judges will select one Koi from the Best-In-Size winners of 45BU to 50BU. The Head Judge will have casting vote in the event of a tie.

6 BABY CHAMPION (A) & (B) Judges will select one Koi from the Best-In-Size winners of 35BU to 40BU. The Head Judge will have casting vote in the event of a tie. MINI CHAMPION (A) & (B) Judges will select one Koi from the Best-In-Size winners of 25BU and under to 30BU. The Head Judge will have casting vote in the event of a tie.
