2 Welcome To The 2nd Annual Still Meadow Bull Sale... Hello and welcome to the Still Meadow 2nd Annual Spring Bull Sale. On behalf of Mr. Ken Ayre and family we want to thank last year s buyers and bidders at our first sale. It has been quite a challenging winter with adverse weather and limited feed supplies. As always, the resilience of the BC ranchers and cattlemen and women have pulled through. The Still Meadow s crew have been busy expanding their operation on Sunnybrae Road at Salmon Arm, to be able to run the main herd there through the year. Fall of 2018, the bulls weaning weights were an incredible average of over 740 lbs. actual. They were weaned in September and developed slowly on hay and bull pellet ration until November Then moved to the bull development station at River Ranch Cattle Co. on Patchet Road, south of Merritt, BC. Paul Buker has been doing a great job developing the bulls over the winter and we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to him. Ken s steadfast approach to raising BC ranch ready bulls is very evident in this group of bulls. Sired by Justamere Mile High, South Dakota, Insight, EXAR Blue Chip, Peak Dot Jump Start, S A V Thrive and Radiance to name a few, have been born easy with a 76 lb. average birth weight and weaned off over 750 lbs. in the fall. Ken s cow herd traces back to the great Tafika Angus herd of Lumby, BC. These cattle are well known for the power and performance, as well as soundness, agility and finally their ability to raise a great calf, get rebred in a timely fashion and keep themselves in good shape. Still Meadows has spared no expense to offer you a great set of bulls for this great province s ranchers and farms. As a special addition, Ken has decided to offer five special open registered, replacement females. These are a cross section of Ken s replacement heifer pen and they are a fine set of Angus females. If you are just starting a new herd or wanting to add a few more diverse genetics, these heifers should peak your interest. Also exciting and charitable, is the donation heifer that Still Meadows has graciously donated to the BC Angus Association. She is a tremendous female and gives us all a chance to have some fun and buy a ticket to win an Angus female. She will be at the sale and we will auction off a few rounds of tickets at the sale. If you bring your trailer and bring your bull home you will receive $50.00 off each animal purchased. Ken has limited space and feed at the headquarters in Langley and will not be able to take the animals back there without prior arrangements being made. All Cattle Are Sold: Subject to such tests as required for export under regulations of the Health of Animals Branch, Department of Agriculture for Canada - those corresponding to Bureau of Animal Industry requirements. Breeding Guarantee: All cattle are sound and right, and all with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions, standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply. Announcements: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Genetics Testing: All cattle in the 2019 Bull Sale are Anthrogryposis Multiplex Free (AMF) and (NHF) Neuropothic Hydrocephalus Free or listed as No Carrier Ancestry. Holding and Shipments: Approximately one week is required for export transfers and other documents to be processed. Export animals will be held at no charge and under excellent care. Joint export shipping arrangements to attain minimum shipping cost will gladly be made by the sale management if instructions to that effect are provided to clerk of the sale when settlement is made. Mail Bids: May be entrusted in complete confidence to any of the Sale Staff listed or to Justamere Farms Ltd. Insurance: Ownership risk to purchaser commences when the Auctioneer s hammer falls.
