I do know one statement that is true and I heard it said many years ago and I have clung to it for most of my life and that is this too shall pass. In agriculture like any other business there are challenges and battles that need to be endured and we have had our share as an industry over the years, but as time passes so do the challenges we face. The cow business looks very stable and we believe in what we are doing. We are happy with the Angus breed and all that it has to offer, and we are extremely happy to be of service in the seed stock industry, it still provides opportunity for personal interaction which is so valuable. Welcome to Bar-H Land and Cattle Co. Annual Spring Bull Sale. This event is both special and opportunistic, as it is one of the few Angus bull sales in the nation that offers ranch raised virgin two year old bulls. These bulls are later born, grass-raised throughout the summer, and then wintered on a high roughage diet to ensure soundness of foot and limb and add a higher degree of longevity. Although Robin offers a chosen group of early born yearlings each year, the two s... are not picked over or have ever been offered for sale. In today s market one can ill afford open cows in the fall. Two year old bulls cover more ground, more cows and are quick to return to proper body condition for the cold winter months. In the same parallel, one can ill afford issues in calving season; therefore birth numbers with accuracy become a big part of the livestock equation. The Bar-H program has concentrated on building a cow herd with built-in calving values, along with strong maternal traits. Robin has always been very conscientious regarding udder types and teat size; therefore, you can be assured that the daughters that you keep as replacements will lead the pack in the heifer pasture. But in monitoring calving and maternal traits, Bar-H bulls maintain performance, offering you more pounds of calf at weaning.
