15 RC Plane project We are considering starting a Mesa County RC Plane project. The project goal would be to build and learn to fly a battery powered RC airplane. Along the way we will learn about the basics of flight and all the components needed to fly a model plane. We will also learn construction techniques for making an inexpensive model that can be repaired easily and completely rebuilt for a few dollars if needed. The project will require the purchase of the needed parts and supplies costing approximately $150. This covers radio, servos, speed controller, motor, battery, battery charger, and airframe. Everything needed to build and fly an RC plane. Some additional supplies will be needed for building the plane like hot glue, a hot glue gun, and tape. Funding assistance for this project may be available but we need to understand the level of interest so please contact the extension office if you would like to join us in this fun project. If you are interested please notify the extension office by March 1st so we can begin making the plans.
