ELIGIBILITY: Entries are open to any youth through 12 th grade effective August A peewee showmanship class will be offered. 2. Georgia state rules prevail EXCEPT for number of entries. 3. This show is open to any breed or crossbred wether and doe. Only wethers and does allowed. NO BUCKS! All goats will be shown as market and by weight, must be slick shorn and dehorned or have horns tipped. Goats must have milk teeth. Goats showing evidence of any of their permanent incisors will not be allowed to show. 4. Goats will be weighed by show officials on Saturday, July 28th, from 7 to 9 am. Goats will be divided into wethers and does and shown by weight with number of goats per class based on number of entries and at the discretion of show management. 5. Each goat must be accompanied by an Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection with the individual animal identification number. ALL DOES MUST HAVE A USDA APPROVED SCRAPIE TAG IN THE EAR. 6. There is no maximum number of entries per exhibitor. 7. NO ADULTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE RING OTHER THAN THE JUDGE AND THE SHOW COMMITTEE OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES. 8. Concessions will be available on Friday evening 27 th and Saturday, July 28 th provided by Madison County FFA Alumni Association. Breakfast and lunch will be available. 9. There is a $20 entry fee per head. A pen charge of $5 per pen, 2 or more goats per pen. Pens are limited, first come basis. The entry deadline is July 20th! 10. Entries are due July 20th and mailed to: David Echols 941 Chandler Farm Road Hull, GA Checks should be made payable to MC FFA Alumni. 11. ALL ENTRY FORMS MUST BE COMPLETE WITH SIGNATURES: use separate entry forms for each exhibitor.

3 12. Animals may arrive on Friday from 5:00 8:30 PM, but owners will leave animals at their own risk. Each exhibitor/owner must assume all liability in case of injury/death to his/her animal and any injury/death incurred by his/her animal. 13. There will be NO refunds on entry registrations. 14. Showmanship classes will be awarded belt buckles for 1 st place and ribbons 2 nd through 10 th place. Showmanship classes for each grade. Grades will be combined if there are insufficient entries. Grades K 1 st will show together. Exhibitors must show their own goats in showmanship and said goat must be entered in market classes. Peewee Showmen are not required to show their own goat and ALL will receive a ribbon. 15. The number of classes will be determined based on the number of entries and will be at the discretion of the show committee. Market classes (approximately 10 per class) will payout through 10 th place. 16. Wethers will be awarded for Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion and Third Overall. Does will be awarded for Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion and Third Overall. 17. All premiums will be paid with vouchers and redeemed at the vouchers table. 18. Owners are responsible for the care and clean-up of their animal. 19. Due to limited space exhibitors may have to share pens, please indicate on entry forms who you will share a pen with. Electricity will be available for fans, but generators will be allowed. 20. The Show Committee reserves the right to interpret the rules as it sees fit and make changes as necessary. 21. Any protest must be presented to the show committee in writing and be accompanied by a cash, nonrefundable $50 deposit. 22. Showing from the trailer will be permitted, however this year the showing off your trailer policy has changed. We have 31 paid only spots reserved for showing off your trailer. Inside the covered arena, we have fourteen $50 trailer spots for reservation, and outside the arena we have seventeen $25 paid spots reserved. See the map below for more details. 23. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PERMITTED ON GROUNDS! We are accepting trailer parking RSVP s by only, and the registration opens at 10 am on Monday July 9 th. Send your trailer parking request with lot preference (Red $50 or yellow $25 lot) to jlastly@madison.k12.ga.us. Again we are not accepting trailer parking registrations before 10 am on July 9 th, and all spots are first come first served. 5 2018 Madison County Show Goat Sale Showback July 27 th **the night before the MC Sizzlin Summer Showdown** Weigh in 6-7 pm Show begins 7:30 pm Show location: UGA Animal Science Arena Athens, Ga Exhibitors are not allowed to purchase an animal from their household family members. For example, if your family raises show goats and plans to sell in the Madison County Show Goat Sale, and you have a child who would like to show in the MC Show Goat Sale Showback, said child would have to purchase their animal from a different consignor, not from your household family's operation. 2. All animals eligible for the MC Show Goat Sale Showback must have been purchased from a consignor of the 2018 MC Show Goat Sale and must have the red MC tag in their ear. If the animal no longer has the red MC tag it is the exhibitor s responsibility to contact John Lastly or the consignor of said animal, within one business week, so the proper tag can be reissued. 3. Goats without a red MC issued tag will not be permitted to compete in the Madison County Show Goat Sale Showback, and no tags will be issued the day of the Showback (7/27/18) unless prior arrangements have been made with the show committee. 4. There is no additional entry fee required to compete in the Madison County Show Goat Sale Showback.
