1 Nomination guidelines for clubs If you have identified volunteer(s) in your club you feel are deserving of an RFU recognition opportunity, please contact your CB, supplying their details in accordance with the guidelines below Item Number Award Criteria Nominations Process June 2015 QBE International Tickets for 3 Grade A Matches in August and September 2015: 15 th August England v Italy 5 th Sept England v Ireland 100 in total (50 per game) Worthy volunteers will be selected by the CB on the basis that: No one person receives a ticket more than once in a 5 year period Tickets are not to go to current (or outgoing) CB Executive Members Letter sent to CBs on 22 nd July 2014 CB sends acceptance of the ticket allocation to by the end of August CB sends names and short citation for each volunteer to by Friday 26th September Tickets distributed to the CB in October 2014 November November Volunteer Visit to Red Arrows Training Base ERSFU NatWest Real Rugby Heroes Awards 2 A unique, once in a lifetime opportunity for just 2 exceptional volunteers to visit the Red Arrows Training Base at Royal Air Force Scampton in Lincolnshire on Thursday 19 th November. 10 This Schools Rugby Award is to recognise the largely unheralded efforts of those who beaver away in the background, for rugby and the school. Winners receive a framed and unframed certificate, group picture and individual photo receiving award, VIP 1 Please do not inform the nominee of his/her nomination for event, to avoid possible disappointment. 2 November RFU President s Value The Volunteer Event, 2016 invite to schools day and match tickets to an England game at Twickenham. 35 Successful nominees must : Have given exceptional service to Rugby Union Football for many years Not have served as an Officer or Member of their CB s Management or Executive Committee over the past 5 years Not have attended an International match at Twickenham as a guest of their CB, Council Member through Value the Volunteer over the past 5 years Letter sent to CB Hon Secretaries in November 2015 CB sends name, home address and mobile number of nominee, together with a brief report detailing why the nominee is considered to be worthy of the invitation to: Sandie Le Good, Council Services sandielegood@rfu.com Please do not inform the nominee of his/ her nomination as the President s invitation will be first indication of the person s selection. November Volunteer Certificates For use by clubs and CBs to recognise and reward volunteers on a local level eg volunteer of the month; end of season recognition events; thank you for doing something exceptional; thank you for long service etc 10 sent to every voting club with a covering letter. 50 given to each CBVC/sub CBVC available for distribution from HQ. November 2 hour guided tour of Morgan Motor Factory, Malvern followed by a light lunch in the Morgan 30 Something a little bit different for classic car fans! 3 January 2016 January January café RFU President s Awards open for nominations SRFU Celebration of Student Rugby Award ERSFU Honorary Life Member Award ERFSU Services to Schools Rugby Award Unlimited work as they hand- make bespoke sports cars. Friday 27 th November 11.00am. Categories broadly similar to the past 2 years Seven categories of annual award celebrate the unique nature of university rugby and the people who support the students game. 1. Player of the Year 2. Team of the Year 3. Volunteer of the Year 4. University Staff Member of the Year 5. Referee of the Year 6. Student Coach of the Year 7. "Vaughan Parry Williams Award" for overall contribution to the student game An Honorary Life Member (not normally still a full-time teacher) will have served either on the Full, 18 group, group, or 16 Group Committee, worked at National level either in Administration, Coaching, Selecting or Team Management. Services to Schools Rugby may be offered to someone who has worked at Divisional, County or Local level either through Committee work or as a Manager, Selector or Coach. Six Nations ticket holders 27 th February (England v Ireland) and 12 th (England v Wales) Six Nations 400 (2 x 200) By nomination, for any volunteer holding Six Nations Ticket to a Twickenham match on 27th February (England v Ireland) and 12th (England v Wales). Rugby volunteers who already have a match ticket can enjoy informal, outdoor hospitality before selected matches at Twickenham. Around 200 people per match are invited for food, beer and the craic. 40 places per event reserved for coaches, referees and medics 20 places per event reserved for groundsmen All places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Cut-off date normally around 2 weeks prior to kick-off. confirmation is sent to all successful applications Wristbands are given out on the day the details of the volunteer and the contribution they ve made to February & (date and venue details to be confirmed) February/ February and (TBC) Tickets plus hospitality: England U20 v Ireland U20 England U20 v WalesU20 (TBC) Visit to England Training Camp with celebration Luncheon 2 Volunteer Recognition 50 pairs (2 x One pair of tickets per nominee. 5 Luncheons hosted by RFU President at Twickenham Stadium 48) 8 places (4 volunteers plus one) will be available at each luncheon for exceptional volunteers in each of the following categories: Groundsmen Coaches Referees and Medics Volunteers under 40 years of age Long Service/outstanding contribution Education April May Groundsmen Connected Match Day Experience with Keith Kent Open for registrations Visit to Williams F1 Grand Prix Collection and Lunch or Afternoon Tea (TBC) Tickets for: London Sevens at Twickenham Stadium, Sunday 17 th May Volunteer groundsmen registered with Rugby Groundsmen Connected will be entered into a draw to win the chance to spend a match day with Keith Kent on the pitch at Twickenham. 20 The Williams Conference Centre in Grove, Oxfordshire, is home to the largest private collection of Formula 1 cars in the world. Housing more than 40 of the team's seminal race cars, the Collection charts the 100 for each match team's 30+ years of motor racing history. 6 May May England match at Twickenham Stadium, 29 th May (TBC) Young Rugby Ambassador Celebration Event (TBC) President s Awards first served basis. Please nominate volunteers who have not already received recognition over the current season 100 The RFU Young Rugby Ambassadors (YRA) Celebration Event, hosted by the RFU National Youth Council (NYC), will take place on 29 th May 2016, prior to the England match. 100 Finalists will be invited to a celebration awards lunch, prior to the England game, at Twickenham Stadium on Sunday 29 th May. Nominations will be invited for achievement awards in various categories. 6
