1 2017 PARTICIPANT S MANUAL It is a pleasure to welcome you to the first edition of the Bonneville 808 Challenge. Inspired by long-distance cycling events, the Bonneville 808 Challenge is a unique experience for cyclists of all calibres who want to do a long-distance ride, either solo or with a group. We thank you all for contributing to the fundraising effort on behalf of the Fondation de l athlète d excellence du Québec, whose mission is to support and guide young student athletes in their academic and sporting careers from emergence of their athletic talent through their transition to a career after sports. The foundation promotes role models in all sports and for all young people, encouraging them to be more active and eat better, and thus inspiring everyone to develop healthy lifestyles. We wish you an excellent 808 challenge! The organizing committee

8 Inspection of support vehicles and bicycles At registration, you will be given all required materials to be affixed to your support vehicle and bike(s). Go to the Tremblant timing station (the entrance before the starting line), where a member of the organizer s team will help you affix the materials and check that the support vehicle and bicycle are in order. Relays/timing stations At the end of each leg of the route is a timing station, which all riders must cross. The stations are also relay points for teams of two and four members. Since the route is formed by a southern and northern loop, participants will ride through three separate timing stations (transition zones for teams) during the challenge. Departure and arrival: Mont-Tremblant Resort and Mont-Tremblant, Quebec The Tremblant Resort is the hub of the event. Place des Voyageurs is the starting line for all categories and the finish line for all challenges. It also acts as a midway transition zone and is the location of the exhibition village and other participant services. Timing stations: transitions every 100 km 1. Arundel 2. Mont-Tremblant Resort 3. 10 The Routes The route is divided into four sections of about 100 km each. Whether they are riding solo or with a team, participants must complete each section before going on to the next. At the end of each section, all participants will go through an intermediate station (or timing station), where they can do their team relays or rest before resuming the ride. Participants in the 808 Challenge must complete the route twice. The 808 Participants must complete the 404 km ride twice in under 48 hours, for a total distance of 808 kilometres and a total elevation of more than 8,400 metres. The route crosses through 17 municipalities in the Laurentians, Lanaudière and Outaouais regions and is composed of eight legs of about 100 kilometres each. Intermediate timing stations in Arundel and Saint-Donat, and passages through Mont-Tremblant Resort, are points at which teams can do their transitions. The 404 The 404 ride covers a total of 404 kilometres withan elevation of over 4,200 metres. Following the same route as the 808 Challenge, and composed of four legs of about 100 kilometres each, the course can be summarizedas follows: departure and arrival at Mont-Tremblant Resort (Place des Voyageurs), with timing stations in Arundel, Tremblant and Saint-Donat
11 Sections 1 & 2 Section 1 presented by: Tremblant - Namur Arundel The first section is the shortest (93 km) and has the lowest elevation (883 m). Departing from Tremblant, participants take Montée Ryan to Highway 323, which takes them through the villages of Brébeuf and Amherst to Namur. From there, riders do a U-turn and go back on Hwy 323 to Amherst, turning at Rockway Valleyroad for the last sprint toward Huberdeau and finishing in Arundel. Section 2 presented by: Arundel - Wentworth - Tremblant The second section is the longest (107 km) and has an elevation of over 1,176 m. It starts on Highway 327 South and does a loop through Montcalm to Lost River, crossing Lac des Seize-Iles back to Arundel and ending in Tremblant. The route ascends graduallyfrom Lost River until it crosses Montée Ste-Marie. For the return trip on Highway 364, the ride is predominantly descending until Arundel. The last leg winds through scenic farmlands and ends at Tremblant Resort, where the second timing and fuel/aidstation is located
12 Sections 3 & 4 Section 3 presented by: Tremblant - Le Nordet - Saint-Donat The third section is the most challenging, withan elevation of 1,357 m and a distance of 103 km. From Tremblant, riders do a short loop to downtown Saint-Jovite. From there, they take the superb Chemin Duplessis alongside rivière du Diable until they get to Lac Supérieur, then the legendary Chemin du Nordet, ending the ride in Saint-Donat witha lap around Lac Archambault. The timing and fuel/aidstation is located in the heart of the village of Saint-Donat. Section 4 presented by: Saint-Donat - Lac Ouareau - Tremblant The last section, before returning to Tremblant, starts on Highway 25 South and does a lap around Lac Ouareau before coming back toward Tremblant, still on Chemin du Nordet, passing through the municipalityof Lac Supérieur and along the sinuous Chemin Duplessis. With one last small loop through the old Tremblant village on Montée Ryan, the riders complete the official course and the 404 Challenge.
