M/Y Corals I & II Itinerary B West (Wed Sun) 5 days / 4 nights Day 1: Wednesday - Baltra Airport Departure from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra (2 ½ hours flight). Arriving in Galapagos, passengers are picked up at the airport by our naturalist guides and taken on a ten-minutes bus drive to the pier to board the M/Y Coral I or M/Y Coral II. PM - Eden Islet or Ballena Bay (Santa Cruz Island) Ballena Bay (Whale Bay) is a beautiful green sand cove at the base of Dragon Hill on the west coast of Santa Cruz Island. The beach contains a large amount of olivine crystals of volcanic origin. The crystals were formed when the magma was still underground; they are made up of magnesium, iron, and silica. Nice beach for swimming, marine iguanas, sea birds, and nesting area for sea turtle (sometimes giant tortoises can be seen depending on the season). Eden Islet offers opportunities to see Nazca and Blue-footed boobies, Reef sharks, and Endemic Salemas, either from the dinghy or during snorkeling. 2 / 9

3 Disembarking: Wet landing Difficulty level: Intermediate Type of terrain: Rocky Duration: 1-hour walk / 1-hour snorkeling / kayaking Day 2: Thursday - Vicente Roca Point (Isabela Island) Vicente Roca Point has great deep-water snorkeling at one of the richest marines havens on Earth (Bolivar Channel). We take a dinghy ride along the coast to observe a great diversity of sea and coastal birds; Nazca and blue-footed boobies, noddies, brown pelicans, penguins, flightless cormorants. The upwelling of coldwater currents in this part of the Galapagos. Disembarking: None Difficulty level: Difficult (cold swimming snorkel) Type of terrain: Dinghy ride Duration: 1-hour snorkeling / 1-hour dinghy ride PM - Espinosa Point (Fernandina Island) This is one of the most pristine islands in the world, with none of man s introduced species to date. Espinosa Point which is located in the northwestern part of the island, its flat jet-black lava is a defining feature of its stark and barren landscape. It is also home to the largest colony of the endemic marine iguanas. Other features are lava cacti, black, white and red mangrove, Sally light-footed crabs, Galapagos hawks, and sea turtles. Moreover, the famous flightless cormorant inhabits this island. Disembarking: Dry landing Difficulty level: intermediate Type of terrain: rocky Duration: 2:30-3 hours walk / 1-hour snorkeling Day 3: Friday - Urbina Bay (Isabela Island) Urbina Bay is located at the west of Isabela Island, it has a spectacular view of Alcedo volcano. Along the trail, we will see land iguanas, mockingbirds, finches, Galapagos hawks, Galapagos martins, and occasionally, giant tortoises. At the beach, we will be able to see the largest marine iguanas on the Galapagos, and those who wish to swim or snorkel can approach flightless cormorants, penguins, sea turtles, and assorted colored fish. Disembarking: Wet landing, can be difficult due to the tide Difficulty level: Intermediate Type of terrain: A hike up a flat, uplifted, semi-rocky area Duration: 1:30 hours walk / 1-hour snorkeling PM - Tagus Cove (Isabela Island) Tagus Cove is located on the Northwestern coast of Isabela Island. It is a historical site visited by Charles Darwin in 1835, where graffiti has been carved into the rock walls by visitors over the past centuries; this happened just before the Galapagos National Park was established in Excellent snorkeling, kayaking and dinghy ride, lots of seabirds: blue-footed booby, brown noddy, terns, flightless cormorant, Galapagos penguins and marine iguanas depend on the season. Disembarking: Dry landing on tuff Difficulty level: Difficult Type of terrain: Steep Duration: 2:30 hours walk / 50 minutes dinghy ride / 1-hour deep water snorkeling / kayaking Day 4: Saturday - Salt Mines / Egas Port (Santiago Island) Volcanic black beach and wonderful landscapes, fur seal grottos, sea lion colonies, herons, hawks, oystercatchers, finches, doves, white-tipped sharks, sea turtles. We will be able to see the vegetation from arid to humid climate zones, but they have been seriously affected by intensive foraging by introduced goats, now eradicated. The surrounding area is a prime place for spotting and observing hunting herons-namely Great Blue Herons, Yellow-crowned Night Herons, and Lava Herons- as well as oystercatchers. Visitors will enjoy the sight of marine iguanas grazing upon algae beds at low tide, sharing space with the crimps on red Sally light-foot crabs and other wading birds. You have the option to visit the Salt Mines a trail of an approximate distance of 8km (4 mi) round trip. It is a salty lagoon that s located inside a crater. Disembarking: Wet landing Difficulty level: Intermediate Type of terrain: flat / semi -rocky Duration: 1:30 to 2 - hours walk / 1-hour snorkeling or beach time PM - Sullivan Bay (Santiago Island) This visitor site is located at the southeastern portion of Santiago Island and represents a great important geologic interest; it features extensive lava flows which are believed to have been formed during the last quarter of the 19th century. The area is covered by Pahoehoe lava flows (Pahoehoe wich means in Polynesian language easy to walk ); this type of lava is rare to the rest of the world but is common to the volcanoes of the Galapagos Islands and Hawaii, this is the perfect place to see and feel the volcanic origin of Galapagos. After exploring the lava flow, you can swim and snorkel with playful sea lions off two small coralline beaches. Disembarking: Dry landing Difficulty level: Difficult, 1.5 km path Type of terrain: Flat volcanic lava Duration: 1,30 hours walk / 1-hour snorkeling / beach time Day 5: Sunday - Highlands (Santa Cruz Island) A 45-minute bus ride will take us to the Santa Cruz highlands, located to the northwest of Ayora Port, where we will find a natural reserve with giant land tortoises in their natural habitat. These enormous and slow-moving reptiles are responsible for the island s name and therefore, approaching them in their humid and forested abode is always an inspiring adventure. They can weigh between 250 and 300 kg and can live up to 200 years. Opportunity to observe giant tortoises, a lava tunnel, Scalesia forest, vermilion flycatcher, the Twin Craters: unique geologic formation. 6 about 9381 ft. The altitude might make you feel a little breathless when you first arrive from sea level. Do not overexert yourself and get plenty of rest and liquids This symptom will disappear in a day or two. It is better to take things easy upon arrival eat lightly and avoid smoking and alcoholic beverages. Quito is a multicolored city located at the foot of the Pichincha Volcano its old-town is like walking back in time and relive splendid 16th century architecture. Declared by the UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage in What to bring: The weather is very much like Quito; therefore we suggest you dress the same for Cuenca. -AVENUE OF THE VOLCANOES The Highlands of Ecuador or Andes are known as The Avenue of the Volcanoes because of their snow-capped peaks and impressive landscapes. What to bring: A raincoat warm clothing sunscreen bottled water and ideally dress in layers. -GUAYAQUIL It is Ecuador s main port and has a population of about 3.3 million. In this city the production of shrimp and bananas are well- developed industries. Nearby there are beautiful beaches of the Pacific Coast. What to bring: Tropical summer clothes are recommended along with sunglasses a good hat and a light jacket for the evening. -THE AMAZON RAINFOREST The vast territory of Ecuador that stretches from the eastern slopes of the Andes to the Peruvian border is known as "El Oriente." In the tropical jungle the climate is warm and humid with an average temperature of 25ºC 77 F. It rains all year long especially from April to August. Visiting the Galapagos Islands There are two visits per day to the islands, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Our naturalist guides will take you directly to the most fantastic and emblematic locations on each island and introduce you to the mysterious and wonderful secrets of its flora, fauna and geology, walking, hiking, snorkeling or kayaking. You will be part of a group (up to 16 people) named: albatross, boobies, cormorants, dolphins or other. Depending on the itinerary, you will also alternate these activities with swimming on colorful sand beaches, watching sea lions on a rocky shore, taking a tour of the Darwin Research Station, and souvenir shopping. To get to our various sites, we have two types of landing: Dry Landings: Passengers step directly from a dinghy onto rocks or a dock. We recommend: walking shoes. Special care is highly recommended when walking on wet rocks. Wet Landings: The dinghy edges toward the beach, where you step into knee-deep water assisted by crew members and guides. We recommend: swimming suit or shorts, walking shoes or sandals, towel (provided by the crew while disembarking) General Activities: Unlike the usual cruise, your visit to the Galápagos Islands offers a variety of activities, so you must come prepared. The main leisure interest is admiring the wildlife and the amazing topographic features. Various hikes along well-marked paths have been chosen to offer you the best views and sites. Hiking may involve various degrees of difficulty (easy, intermediate or difficult: see below for details). While hiking, you will be able to bird-watch, take pictures, stroll on the beach, take walks, visit museums and naturalist parks, as well as a trek up mountainsides. Other activities include snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming, so for each activity, you must take appropriate clothing and gear with you. Level of difficulty in hiking: We have divided the levels of difficulty in three groups: 1) Easy: Flat terrain without any climbing. The surface can be rocky, though usually it means sand or dirt. The hike doesn t last more than one hour. 2) Intermediate: Flat terrain or with some slope. The surface is mostly rocky and/or slippery. The hike lasts about one and a half hours. 3) Difficult: A hike on steep surfaces, mostly comprised of rocks and broken up lava flows. The hikes usually last between two and three hours. Please note: The degree of difficulty gives a general idea of what to expect. Most hikes are all right for the majority of people and the degree of difficulty should not be a deterrent to taking part in them. Only if you have some major handicap you should consider staying aboard for the hardest hikes. Please consult your guide if you have any questions. Galapagos Islands Month by Month January Española s marine iguanas get a bright coloring to attract mates. Marine and land iguanas courtship period. Green sea turtles start laying eggs. Hatching of Giant tortoises eggs. Weather: wet and humid. February Greater flamingos start nesting on Floreana Island. Marine iguanas nest on Santa Cruz Island. Penguins migrate away from Bartolomé Island to cooler waters of Isabela and Fernandina Island. Weather: Rainy season. March July August September Nesting season for blue-footed boobies, American oystercatchers, waved albatross, and flightless cormorants. Start of sea lion breeding season. Lava lizards mating season. Weather: July and August are the months with strongest winds. Frigatebird chicks are hatching. Sea lions give birth during this time. Giant tortoises go back to the highlands after laying their eggs. Weather: still in rainy season. April May June Marine Iguanas nest on Fernandina and North Seymour Islands. Frigate birds mating season starts on San Cristóbal and Genovesa islands. Weather: wet and humid. Perfect time for snorkeling. Rainy season comes to an end. Water temperature is the highest. Sea turtles, marine iguanas, and land iguanas nesting. Waved albatross come back to Española Island and begin nesting. Due to the lack of rain during the months of April and May the arid zone changes from green to brown, only the highlands remain green. Waved albatross lay eggs on Española Island. Blue-footed boobies begin their world-known courtship. Weather: fine and clear. You can spot Galapagos penguins during their courtship on Bartolomé Island. Seabirds at nesting sites can be seen. A good month to see baby sea lions. Weather: The peak of garua season. October November Blue-footed booby chicks can be seen on Española and Isabela. Lava herons start nesting. Galapagos fur sea lions mating season. Weather: average temperature 71º F. Chance of seeing whale sharks in the far northwest of the Islands. Green sea turtle mating season starts. Great for swimming and snorkeling with baby sea lions. Weather: Clear and warmer, average temperature 73º F. December Whale sharks could be seen in the northwestern islands toward the end of the month. Santa Cruz giant tortoises migrate to lowlands searching for good nesting-places. Humpback whales can be seen around the islands. Weather: misty and it starts the dry season known for its blue skies and mid-day showers. It marks the start of the warm season in the Islands. Baby giant tortoises start hatching. Waved-albatross nesting season is ending. Marine and land iguanas begin mating. Sea lions and fur sea lions breeding. Weather: sunshine and great for enjoying the water. 8 1. What kind of weather can we find in the Galápagos Islands? You will be in a sunny year round destination; the warmest months are from December to June. January to March can be hot and humid, but also mostly green at this time. The months from July to November are cooler. The average year-round temperature is 24 C. (76 F). Local time in Galápagos is (GMT -6) one hour less than in Ecuador s mainland. In our yachts and vessels, we work with Ecuador s mainland time. 3. What is the check-in procedure at Quito or Guayaquil s airport? Arrive at the Airport 1h30 before your flight. If you come by yourself or with a guide, the first thing you must do as soon as you arrive at the airport is pass the luggage control SICGAL, which is located at the National Terminal to the right. For environmental reasons, your luggage will be checked for animals, seeds, plants, fruits, vegetables or anything that is forbidden on the Galápagos Islands. After this, go to the counter of AVIANCA (B-15/B-16), where there will be a Go Galapagos - KleinTours representative with your boarding pass, air tickets, taxes and all your travel documents in a GO - KT ticket pouch; this representative will also help you check your luggage with the airline. You will be given an identification tag for the cruise. Please wear it so you can be easily identified when you arrive at the airport in Galapagos. Please do NOT get in line for the INGALA Transit Control Card; if you have prepaid it with Go Galapagos - KleinTours. Our representative already has your card. 4. What s the procedure if I prepaid the Galapagos National Park Tax? A stamp placed on your GO - KT envelope will confirm that you have prepaid this tax, otherwise you will need to pay it at passport control in Galapagos upon arrival only in cash. 5. Who will meet me at the Airport in Galápagos? Our guides will be waiting for you with a sign indicating your ship or yacht s name: The M/V Galapagos Legend or M/Y Corals I & II. Register yourself with the guide. When everybody is registered the airlines bus will bring passengers to the dock where our dinghies wait to transfer you to where the vessel yachts are anchored. 6. Are there any luggage s restrictions? The airline that operates to Galápagos, allows one piece of luggage per person, of no more than 20 kilos (about 44 pounds) and a carry-on bag of 7 kg p/p. We recommend you to take a soft sided bag as it will be easier to store in your cabin. Please lock your luggage during the flight. 7. What should I bring on my trip? We advise you to bring comfortable breathable clothes; shorts, T-shirts, swimsuits and good hiking shoes are required to walk over the lava rock paths, personal medication, a good camera and plenty of memory sticks or film, sunglasses, and binoculars. For shore excursions, comfortable clothing is a must, preferably shorts, bathing suits, head covering, walking shoes, tennis shoes, windbreaker type jacket. Sun rays are very strong in the Galápagos Islands, do not forget to take with you enough high-grade sun block, and wide brim hat. Also, put your cameras in self-sealing plastic bags to protect them from the water, especially during landings. 8. Does the guide accompany us on each island? By law, all Galápagos cruises are guided by a National Park - certified guide (up to 16 passengers). The night before the cruise the guide gives an informative lecture the next day s itinerary. During this meeting, he/she will describe the flora, fauna, and type of terrain that passengers may observe on the island. Questions about biological, geological and human history are always welcome. 9. What is the smoking policy on board the ship? It is forbidden to smoke inside the yachts or the vessel. Smoking is allowed ONLY on the sun decks. 10. What is the electrical outlet and service? 110 / 220 volts. European and American outlets are available on our cruise fleet. In M/Y Coral I and M/Y Coral II the frequency is 60 Hz and in the Galapagos Legend Is 50 Hz. 11. Is there any physical requirement for the cruise? We recommend that passengers be in reasonably good physical condition as some trails may be difficult. Therefore elderly or disabled persons may find them too demanding and must notify Go Galapagos - KleinTours about their physical condition. Go Galapagos - KleinTours is not responsible for failures due to the nature of the excursion and reserves the right to refuse a passenger if anyone fails to inform it of any physical disability, or who, in the opinion of the company, constitutes a danger to themselves, other guest, members of the crew, or the smooth operation of the vessel. 12. How can I pay my expenses on board? Upon arrival at the ship s reception, an account will be opened, you can pay with credit cards; Diners, Visa, Mastercard, American Express. Euros* and U.S. Dollars, please inform at your arrival your payment method. 13. Is Internet access available aboard our cruise fleet? Satellite Internet is available in our fleet, its cost is: US$ 32 for 10 minutes, US$ 96 for 30 minutes, US$ 192 for 60 minutes, for text only. If you need videos or photographs you will be charged by mega (each mega US$ 16). 14. What is the schedule for meals on board? Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 8:00, lunch at 12:00 and dinner at 20:00, except on your last day where breakfast will be served earlier so we can have enough time for our last excursion before taking the plane. 15. What would happen if I get seasick? We hardly get a seasick passenger on board. However, we have seasick medication on board all our ships, but if you are particularly sensitive you can bring your own medication and preferably take it at least 24 hours before the cruise starts. 16. Is the water safe to drink? On board our fleet you will find bottled water in your cabin. Ice used onboard is made with purified water as well. For ecological reasons, we ask you to refill your bottle during the cruise, using the water purifiers at the main bar, pool bar, restaurant and disembarking area. Bottles must always be returned to the ship. 17. What if I have allergies or require special diet on board? 8 / 9
