Anyone using the phone for extended periods. Exposure to high-intensity noise (such as loud screeches and alarms being let off down the phone), may cause permanent damage to hearing. 2 Blocked Fire Exit. Potentially life threatening should a fire occur whilst fire exits are blocked! All security grills should be unlocked by the key holder when they come in to work. 3 Cuts and Grazes. Handling paper always has a risk of paper cuts. Clean water is available in all the toilets. Sterile, self adhesive plasters are available close by with a First Aider. 4 Electrical. Uncontrolled exposure to mains electrical supplies may have fatal consequences. The occupant should not be handling anything where they are exposed to mains voltages. Jobs that require a machine to be opened, are dealt with by suitably trained / experienced staff to avoid any danger from electrical contact. Visual checks are made of electrical equipment prior to being connected to a mains outlet. The main cause of mental problems in this area are caused by boredom, monotony, personal problems, and during the busy periods, pressure to achieve targets. Health surveillance is continuous and ongoing, staff who are thought to be experiencing problems are advised to talk to Human Resources to try and find a solution to their concerns.
