Closing against the operating pressure is possible with atuator AKM 105, 115(S) or valve atuator with spring return AKF 112, 113(S); losing with the operating pressure is not admissible. Closing proedure against the pressure A AB B11393 These regulating ball valves are haraterised by their reliability and preision and make an important ontribution towards environmentally friendly regulation. They meet diffiult hallenges suh as the quik-losing funtion, overoming differential pressures, ontrolling media temperatures and performing the shut-off funtion, all with a low noise level. The spindle of the ball valve is automatially onneted to the spindle arrier of the atuator. The brass ball ontrols the equal-perentage flow rate in the ontrol passage. The tightness of the ball is ensured by the PTFE ollars inorporated into the body. An O-ring made of EPDM is inserted behind these two ollars. These O-rings enable the ball and the two ollars to make a small axial movement, providing a high level of tightness and small torques. The tightness of the spindle is ensured by 2 O-rings. These annot be replaed. Intended use This produt is only suitable for the purpose intended by the manufaturer, as desribed in the Desription of operation setion. All related produt regulations must also be adhered to. Changing or onverting the produt is not admissible. Engineering and fitting notes The ball valves are ombined with rotary atuators with or without a spring return. The atuator is mounted diretly on the ball valve and fastened with a bayonet onnetor. The atuator shaft is automatially onneted to the spindle, whereby the stem of the ball valve is in an intermediate position. When the system is oissioned, the SUT atuator moves to the open position, and the two devies are onneted automatially. 5 tor, and no further adjustments are required. With the SUT atuators, the harateristi an be set to linear or quadrati as required. To avoid the ball valve being jaed in the end positions, the SUT atuator makes a movement of approx. 30 angle of rotation if the end positions of the positioning signal have not hanged within 3 days. So that impurities are retained in the water (welding beads, rust partiles, et.) and the PTFE ollar is not damaged, it is neessary to install dirt filters, for example one for eah floor or pipe run. For dirt filters, see the aessories, and note the usage and temperature range for eah type. Requirements for water quality as per VDI All ball valves must be used in losed iruits only. In open iruits, an exessively high oxygen mixture an destroy the ball valves. To avoid this, an oxygen binding agent must be used; here the ompatibility must be larified with the manufaturer of the solution with regard to orrosion. The material list shown below may be used here. The fittings are usually insulated in the systems. owever, note that the flange into whih the atuator is inserted is not insulated. To prevent any disturbing flow noise from being audible in quiet rooms, the pressure differene over the ball valve must not exeed 50% of the speified values. The rank handle is fixed to the atuator. To operate this rank handle, the manual adjustment knob on the atuator must be pushed downwards. The atuator remains inative until this knob is shifted into the top position again. There is also a squared end on the rank handle that mathes the squared end on the spindle of the ball valve. The material list shown below may be used here. When glyol is used, we reoend using a onentration of between 20% and 50%. The ball valves are not suitable for potentially explosive atmospheres. The materials seleted are admissible for drinking water. The omplete ball valves are not admissible for drinking water. Fitting position The ontrol unit an be fitted in any position, but the hanging position is not reoended. Condensate, drops of water, et. must be prevented from entering the atuator. 7 p s : Maximum admissible pressure differene over the ball valve in the event of a malfuntion (e.g. power failure, exessive temperature or pressure, pipe break) at whih the atuator an lose the ball valve tightly and, if neessary, maintain the entire operating pressure against atmospheri pressure. Beause this is a quik-losing funtion with a rapid stroke movement, p s an be greater than p max or p v. The disruptive flow effets that arise here are quikly passed through and are of minor importane in this method of operation. p stat : ine pressure behind the ball valve.
