There are two types: single-phase valves and double-phase valves. 3.1 Single-Phase Valves The valves are generally equipped with dip tube nozzles which, connected to a polyamide tube, are used to transfer the fluid in the liquid phase (it is possible to transfer the fluid in the gaseous phase by omitting to connect the dip tube or by turning the cylinder upside down). The polyamide tube is connected to the nozzle or to the quick connector. 3.2 Double-Phase Valves Double-phase valves are equipped with two handwheels: one for use in the liquid phase (red handwheel) and the other for use in the gaseous phase (blue handwheel). They may have one or two outlets. A polyamide tube is necessary for the liquid phase. The gaseous phase may be fitted with a level tube which, cut to a specific length, enables the recovery of the fluids.

4 Page: 4/8 4 ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT (accessories) 4.1 Anti-Charging Device Most valves are equipped with an anti-charging device which prevents cylinder refilling by unauthorized companies or persons. It also enables to maintain a residual pressure in the cylinder, which can be increased or decreased according to the spring setting, according to the customer s request. Cylinders equipped with an anti-charging valve can only be filled using special equipment. For example: quick-fitting manual charging clamp OT13008 code Safety Valve The valves can also be equipped with safety valves to prevent a cylinder burst (the safety valve opens in case of excess pressure). The absence of the red adhesive patch on the safety valve indicates that it has been triggered. In this case, the safety valve must be replaced. 4.3 Bursting Disc The valves can also be equipped with bursting discs to prevent a cylinder burst (the disc breaks in the event of overpressure). Avoid the fast transitions in pressure (peaks, hammers blow...) which could result in reaching a level of pressure involving the rupture of the disc. 4.4 Fuse type single valve ( Marine valve) The valves can also be equipped with a fuse type valve (security device which melts in case of temperature rising to allow cylinder emptying). 4.5 Pressurizing Valve This is used when the cylinder is almost empty and there is insufficient pressure. It enables a neutral gas (nitrogen) to be introduced in order to pressurize the liquid phase of a cylinder. This operation ensures that the liquid flows through the valve at a satisfactory rate. 4.6 Purging It is used to dose the filling of callipering bottles. 4.7 Quick connector (connection dip tube) The valves can also be equipped with a quick connector at their low end. This connector can replace the nozzle of the dip tube and offers the possibility of fitting and removing various dip tubes. The assembly is carried out simply by pushing the tube into the connector until the stop limit, approximately 20 mm; disassembling is done by pressing back the outer part of the connector and pulling off the tube. The device is designed for a maximum of 5 connections/disconnections. During installation, make sure the tube is well positioned and in abutment in the valve body and is well maintained.

7 Page: 7/8 8 PERIOD OF USE The valves are designed and manufactured in accordance with ISO for use during a period of 5 or 10 years depending on the fluid. On expiry of this period, and in accordance with legislation, the valves must be inspected. In this context, Senior Aerospace Ermeto has set up maintenance procedures that make it possible to guarantee that these valves operate correctly and in complete safety. Senior Aerospace Ermeto declines any liability if servicing is not carried out, or if maintenance procedures are not followed. 9 LIMITATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE The following utilization conditions are extracted from the DT790 risk analysis. Failure to comply with the instructions indicated in this document will lead to the cancellation of the guarantee. Risks related to a shock: - The device is designed for minimum shock resistance (KV>27J at -25 C). - The user must make sure to install the devices on bottles equipped with a permanent or non-permanent protection system. Risks related to utilization conditions: - Make sure before installation that the tap and bottle threads have not been damaged during a previous utilization. - Carefully read and scrupulously respect this DT's instructions (temperature, fluids, pressures, tightening torques, etc... -Make sure before installation that the thread pitches of the tap, the bottle and the various connections are compatible. Risks related to a flame: - The device must not come in contact with the flame. Risks related to the alteration of seals over time (tap's service life): - The user must make sure to have the device revised in compliance with the regulations in force. - Change the plug gasket at each use Risks related to stresses due to pipes: - The user must make sure that no stress is induced during the installation of adjacent elements. Risks related to the dismounting of the device under pressure: - The user must make sure that the device is not under pressure before any intervention. Risks related to device modifications: - The user must not make any modification on the device (drilling, welding, grinding, etc.). - Do not insert unauthorized objects in the holes

8 Page: 8/8 Risks related to the splashing of products on the device: - The user must make sure to avoid placing the device in the vicinity of a liquid splashing or solid splattering source which could damage the device (sand blasting, high-pressure washing, grinding, etc.). Risks related to incorrect storage conditions: - The user must make sure to leave the device in its original packaging during storage. Risks related to lightning and earthquakes: - This device is not designed to resist lightning or earthquakes. 10 ENVIRONMENT AND RECYCLING SENIOR AEROSPACE ERMETO is constantly improving its environmental management systems covering waste, pollution prevention, recycling and the respect of the laws and regulations in force.
