2 Excavation of trench by Principal Contractors contractor Co-ordinate with Manager/oad Master for Unloading materials from transport list individually, do not group Crushing by Mechanical machinery Falling into trench Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD), M or, M or Not to be present at the location whilst working being carried out Builder/ by the Principal Contractors contractor. Await approval to commence works in area. Mechanical devices (supplied by Manager) ensure all safety requirements are followed as per the Managers Mechanical Device SWMS. Prior to lifting materials from transport - plan where the materials are to be located. Ensure pathway to the final location is clear of all hazards i.e. holes, unstable ground, obstacles etc. oading Master/ Preparing materials for installation of pipe laying MSD Minimise quantity of pipes for lifting/lowering Ensure 2 people are to lift &/ lower from original location to trench. Ensure lifting/lowering commands are clear and precise. Ensure pathway is clear of all hazards i.e. holes, unstable ground, obstacles etc. Ensure carrying out the correct manual handling procedures for lifting/lowering Refer to SWMS for Manual andling Ensure you are wearing PPE for the task at all times and making sure you are wearing the appropriate PPE for the weather conditions. Storage of oxy-acetylene will be a well vented lockable storage area (location to be discussed with Manager). Otherwise to be taken off site. Ensure not stored near sources of ignition, oxidising agents, poisons, flammable liquids or combustible materials. Do not open cylinder valve without the regulator attached. Builder/ Ensure regulators etc are compatible with the product. 5 Connection of PVC Pipework Using PVC Glue and Primer list individually, do not group Eye/Skin/Breathing irritation Burns Eye, skin, breathing irritations, M or Wear the appropriate PPE cotton or leather gloves, clothing to be 100% cotton or fire-resistant Ensure you Pay attention to the welding task and do not be distracted. Ensure following the MSDS safety procedures highlighted in the Substances Brought on sheet in the OS Manual Avoid contact with skin & eyes by wearing protective eye wear and gloves and clothing to protect the skin Environmential impact Follow principal contractor s procedures for waste removal if applicable.
