4 PRESIDENTS REPORT. I am proud to open my report with no lives lost, at South Narrabeen while the beach was voluntarily patrolled. This season has been very tough for all members with the added patrol hours. I feel the S.L.S.A. is demanding too much from the smaller clubs who have limited membership and limited patronage at the beach. I feel at South Narrabeen patrol should not start till 12 noon on a saturday and finish at 4pm, sunday should remain the same. We don't need our patrol season starting in september and going through to anzac day. The seagulls don't need supervision on the beach after easter. On the competitive side the two boat crews strived hard but without a great deal of success. Financially we started out in the red but due to the hard work of our treasurer, Stewart, The Raffer, Phil and his team we ended up very well. The monte Carlo Night was a terrific success I would like to thank Stewart for the effort he put in, and to all those who helped on the night. To those members who turned up regularly at committee meetings Thank You. Brownie, our secretary, another terrific job done. John Baseley, the Chairpearson of the Junior activities a good effort. 'Ve are slowly building the basis of a good junior group. I &rn not standing for a position on the committee this season for the first time in 25 years. I feel the club needs an injection of new blood on the committee and wou±d like to see some of the - younger members take the reins. Your in Surfing T.Haven0

5 TREASURER'S REPORT This season was a mixed period financially for the Club. At one stage we were very close to being unable to pay our debts. Somehow we managed to scrape through and finally emerge on the right side of the ledger. We suffered a number of setbacks through the season. These included the failure to obtain the dollar for dollar gear grant when we purchased the new radios, the subsequent theft of one of the new radios and the vandalism of the coke machine each time it was repaired. Fortunately, the second half of the season was a financial improvement. A lot of credit must go to Phil O'Sullivan for getting the raffles going at the Sands. Through his efforts, over two and a half thousand dollars were raised. Thank you Phil. Also, a special thanks to those people from both within the Club and outside the Club, who helped us with donations through the year. This also applies to the firms who assisted us with donations of gifts for the Monte Carlo night. Stewart Black

9 SECRETAPYS REPORT. Your committee has the pleasure to report that no lives were lost, during the past season, on South Narrabeen beach, I think it was a great effort by all members as well as active reserve, who pitch in to lend a hand. I would like to take the time to congratulate all the new members who gained their bronze, hopefully you are going to be the South Narrabeen of the future, and again well done and thanks to Mi.Walker for his tireless hours in training the squad. The 1989/90 season saw the club again do well with the junior life saving and I would like to thank. all the parents who lent a hand on sunday mornings. The club would like to thank all the competitors who trained and competed for the club during the season. South Narrabeen was very lucky this year to have to great workers in P.O'Sullivan, who ran the raffles at the sand's every week as well as doing a good joo as being club captain. The other hard working member was S.Black who worked tirelessly to run a great fundraising event at the Monte Carlo night. Thanks to these two member and everybody else who lent a hand. It is the first time, for a long time, the club has finished with a finanical bank account. After three years as Secretary I think my typewriter finger has had enough. I will not be standing for any position on the 1990/91 cornnittee because of work an study commitments, but I wish the incoming committee all the best. C. Brown.

10 CLUB CAPTAINS REPORT. The 1989/90 season was a big success for South Narrabeen with its small membership. The patrol system worked well for the majority of the season. There was only two patrols that were not on the beach and this was at the end of the season after the Australian Titles, where the patrol season runs into the footy season. Personally patrols should finish when the Australian Titles are completed. But still a job well done. Congratulations to Nick Walker he did another great job as Cheif Instructor, Congratulations to those members who achieve awards. I would like to thank those members who helped with the - raffles every week, without them we wouldn't have raised the amount of money we did. Well done to our "huge" band of competitors the A' and "B' crew tried hard, done good. P.O 'Sullivan.

11 BOAT CAPT&LN.1.PEPOPT. The rowing season started off at the club in a strong way, with four crews, But finish in a lack of enthusiasm. Ending the year with only an "A" and"b" crew. The crews coinpetted in a strong effort through out the year. The "A" crew started with a win at copabana. The State Titles were held at swansea/belitont with the two crews rowing well.
