3 ABOUT ZAYED SPORTS CITY Since before the country began writing its legacy, the United Arab Emirates has shared a strong connection with the world of sport. From football to falconry and camel racing to caracals, UAE nationals have followed, participated in and this love of sport justice, and so Zayed Sports City was born. than three decades of continuous development, it remains the premier entertainment and sports destination in the UAE. In addition to a wide range of sporting facilities the entire site has become multi-purpose, hosting birthday parties, corporate outings and international sporting and entertainment events. Whether you are an individual wanting corporation wanting to improve teamwork and leadership Sports City was inaugurated in January 1980 as a testament to the country s passion for sport and a platform to develop and incubate the country s promising sport talent. Zayed Sports City was a state-of-the-art facility for its time and after more wanting to demonstrate your talents to enthusiastic services to ensure great sporting experiences. 6 SPORTS PITCHES The pitches dotting Zayed Sports City have earned the reputation as the best grass in the country, which means they are used by local groups as well as professional international teams. Our 16 natural grass pitches and two brand new artificial turf pitches are called home by worldwide sports like football and rugby to regional favourites such as Gaelic football, Australian rules, American football, softball and more! 7 TENNIS AND COURT SPORTS With eight practice courts, a stunning centre stadium and three beach courts, the tennis facilities at ZSC rival those found in Europe. Used every year by the world s best players including Andy Murray and Raphael Nadal, the courts offer great quality and a unique atmosphere. Coaching for beginners through elite athletes is offered through ZSC Academy (see page 2). Adjacent to the tennis courts are three courts for basketball and netball, giving the opportunity to play these popular sports in the shadow of the national stadium. 8 SKATING The undisputed coolest spot in the city for sports is Zayed Sports City Ice Rink and there are lots of ways to enjoy it. Whether you meet up with friends at a public session, learn to skate at any age, join a sport or become a figure skater, ice sports offer fitness and fun. Coaching for beginners and intermediate skaters is offered through ZSC Academy (see page 2). 9 BOWLING, BILLIARDS AND TABLE TENNIS Uniquely bright and open, Khalifa International Bowling Centre is a great place to spend a day engaged in sports. The 40 lanes feature automatic scoring, as well as bumpers and ramps which ensure that everyone, regardless of age or skill, can enjoy the game. There is also a massive 13-table billiards hall plus a space for table tennis. It s a favoured place for social get-togethers, company outings, local leagues and families. 10 PAINTBALL The extreme sport of paintball offers extreme fun at Zayed Sports City Paintball. Capture the Flag, Protect the President and a myriad of other games have no better venue than the 4,500 sqm. scenario zone. Newly renovated, the massive space is full of places to hide as you work on the mission. Paintball is for ages 12 and over only, and minors require a parental waiver. This unique game is an adaption of paintball designed with under 12 s in mind but enjoyed by all ages.
