He had a long and distinguished association with Wamberal SLSC which continues to this date with his son and grandchildren continuing his legacy. There was a large group of family and friends who came onto the beach to witness 40 nippers and life savers form a guard of honour before paddling out and forming a surfers circle to honour Mr Camden. 9 9 WAMBERAL LAGOON HAVE YOUR SAY! Gosford City Council is seeking the community s feedback on its latest efforts to protect the health of Wamberal, Terrigal, Avoca and Cockrone lagoons. The draft Coastal Zone Management Plan for Gosford s Coastal Lagoons will be on public exhibition from Wednesday 1 October 2014 until Friday 14 November Gosford s four coastal lagoon systems are a significant part of our region s environment. They are a highly-valued natural resource for local residents and visitors, and support a network of important ecological communities and diverse range of recreational uses. However, past land-use changes and human activities, combined with a growing population, are placing increasing pressure on the natural values and ecological health of these lagoons. Preserving these lagoons is extremely important to both the Council and our residents. Improved planning aims to provide a balance between environmental protection and human activities and provide guidance to achieve longterm improvements to each lagoon s health. Please provide feedback to the following key questions: Is there anything that you feel has not been adequately addressed in the Plan? Do you have any recommendations that would improve community use and/or environmental health of Gosfords coastal lagoons? What aspects of the Draft plan do you like? What do you see as the highest priority actions? Council s conversation with the community about the draft plan will include a public forum to allow those interested to learn more about managing the lagoons and provide comment. The public forum will be held on Wednesday 5 November 2014 at the Terrigal Surf Lifesaving Club between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. The draft Coastal Zone Management Plan (and its supporting management study) is available online throughout the exhibition period at and or via hardcopy at Council s Erina, Gosford and Woy Woy Customer Service Centres during normal business hours. Submissions on the Draft CZMP can be: ed to: coastal@gosford.nsw.gov.au Sent to: Gosford City Council Attn: Tim Macdonald Senior Environment Planning Officer 49 Mann Street Gosford NSW 2250 If you have any further queries please contact Tim Macdonald, Councils Senior Environment Planning Officer, on
