1 Union County Interscholastic Athletic Conference Swimming Championships Date: Site: Times: Scoring: Entries Entries Deadline: Seeding Fees Awards: Meet Directors Entry Coordinator Boys Meet: Friday February 6, :00pm Warm-up, 6:00pm start Girls Meet: Saturday February 7, :00am Warm-up, 10:00am start Elizabeth High School 600 Pearl Street Elizabeth, NJ Lanes x 25 yards Timing System Swimmers for the boys meet will be allowed into the facility at approximately 4:45 pm on Friday. Warm-ups will begin at 5:00pm. Swimmers for the girls meet will be allowed into the facility at approximately 8:45 am. Warm-ups will begin at 9:00am. Individual Scoring: Relay Scoring: A school may enter up to three swimmers in each individual event and may enter one relay team in each relay event. A competitor shall be permitted to enter a MAXIMUM of 4 events, no more than two of which may be individual events. An entered event counts as a swim, even if a swimmer declares false start prior to that event. RELAY SWIMMERS MAY BE DECLARED AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT. However, a swimmer may not exceed 4 events. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at mid-night Meet will not be pre-seeded. All seeding will take place after scratches. $7.00 per individual event $20.00 per relay event Checks payable to U.C.I.A.C and brought to meet. Medals to 1 st, 2 nd, & 3 rd place individual swimmers Team trophy to the winning team and runner-up. 2 Entry Procedures: Brian Sharkey has agreed to serve as our entry coordinator and has requested that all information be sent in format. A Hy-Tek file is required & may be sent by . All schools must use Hy-Tek for entering this meet. Either Hy-Tek Team Manager or TM II Lite may be used. TM II Lite may be downloaded without charge from the following site: and directions for use are also available on this site. Hy-Tek event files will be ed to you. All entry times must be in YARDS. All events will be timed finals with electronic timing and stopwatch back-ups. One-way sprint lanes will only be open during pre-meet warm-up in the final 15 minutes of warm-up, IF the swimmers are directly supervised by a coach. 3 Additional Meet Information: Meet Helpers: Please provide the names of two (2) meet helpers on your entry forms. Your help is needed in providing a well-run meet. Locker Rooms: There will be 2 locker rooms available each day. Teams may be assigned locker rooms. While some locker room security measures will be provided, we will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. Please bring a lock with you and leave items of value at home. Seating: We are going to try to take some measures to increase spectator seating. I know some fans last year were denied entry into the facility, or did not have a seat or a good view of the meet. Bring a lock. If you find a locker, please lock your bag and only bring what you need to swim onto the deck. Try to sit at the turning end of the pool. Hopefully, less bags will yield more seats for swimmers. Some bleacher areas may be designated Spectators Only. If you must use bleacher space, use the space down by the turning end. o I know some of the above may disrupt your team s usual seating area. Please be patient while we work to alleviate space issues for future county meets.. Snack Bar: There will be a snack bar. Admission Fee: $5:00 includes program. A coaches and officials hospitality room will be available on both days serving drinks and snacks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact either Jess or Judy.
