1 2015 YMCA Sectional Swim Meet Saturday, February 14, 2015 Hosted by the Burlington Area YMCA Bullsharks To: From: YMCA Swim Coaches and Sectional Participants Burlington Area YMCA Bullsharks swim team Meet Director: Karen Thie, Aquatics Director Burlington Area YMCA ext 126 Meet Location: Burlington High School 412 Terrace Drive Burlington, IA *The Burlington High School swimming pool has a 6 lane, 25 yard pool, non-turbulent lane lines, Colorado System 6 electronic timing system and Infinity starting system. Diving blocks are located at the 12 foot end of the pool. Parking: Parking is available in the Burlington High School parking lot located on the south side of the school. The school cafeteria entrance is to be used; it is located on the south side of the building. Sectional Meet Entries: Your entries must be received by 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10 th. Please your entries to: Karen Thie at karen@burlingtony.org, bscbullsharks@hotmail.com, as well as YMCA results committee at iowayswimresults@gmail.com. Late entries will not be accepted! Please send entries in zip format and also a.pdf or word file listed by swimmers name and a separate relay.pdf file. After entries are received and entered, each team will be sent a file of your entries to be double checked with corrections returned by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11 th. 2 Meet Timeline: Doors open at 7:45 a.m. Warm-ups 8:10-8:30 a.m. Burlington, Fort Madison 4-6 8:35-8:55 a.m. Keokuk 1-3, Washington :20 a.m. Muscatine 1-3, Scott County 4-6 9:25-9:45 a.m. starts lanes 1-6 Lane 1 Burlington Lane 2 Washington Lane 3 Keokuk Lane 4 Fort Madison Lane 5 Muscatine Lane 6 Scott County 9:55 a.m. Swimmers on deck for National Anthem 10:00 a.m. Meet begins 10 minute break after event #56 Coaches Information: Check in will be at the cafeteria entrance. * Please let Karen know how many certified coaches from your team will be attending by February 10 th at karen@burlingtony.org 8:45 a.m. Coaches/Scratch meeting in the Pool Office *Please remember to bring a photo ID and your Championship Meet Deck Pass from Y-USA to receive your coaches packets with Sectional Meet deck pass. *Coaches only area is located at the tables on the south end of the pool (shallow end) and the fenced in area behind the starter and computer area. All coaches MUST have their deck passes on. *Parents are NOT allowed behind the starting blocks. *Coaches hospitality room with complimentary snacks and drinks will be in the First Aid room located at the northwest corner of the pool area. *Sectional t-shirt orders will be available for pick up at the t-shirt tables. Timers: ALL teams are responsible for providing 2 timers for their lanes for the entire day. You may create your own timers schedule for your assigned lane, but there MUST BE at least one certified Level 1 or 2 timer in your lane at ALL times. Please your list of timers to Karen Thie, karen@burlingtony.org by Tuesday, February 10 th. Please include which timer is certified Level 1 or 2 officials. Lane 1 Burlington Lane 2 Ft. 3 Timers: Meeting for ALL timers will be at 9:30 a.m. in the Boys PE Locker room, which we will be using as the Shark Tank (modified clerk of course). This room is located between the gymnasium and pool. Officials: There will be an Officials meeting at 9:15 a.m. in the Boys PE locker room, which we will be using as the Shark Tank (modified clerk of course). This room is located between the gymnasium and pool. If you have any parents who would be willing to officiate during Sectionals please their name and preference for morning or afternoon shift and capacity to officiate by February 10 th. Clerk of Course aka The Shark Tank : There will be NO Clerk of Course. However we will have a holding area in the Boys PE Locker Room, located between the gymnasium and pool. This will be the swimmers entrance to the pool area and will act as a staging area. There will be volunteers in this area to line swimmers up for their events. No spectators should be in this area, thank you. Swimmers will exit the pool area through the pool office to their camp area located in either the cafeteria or gymnasium. Event numbers will be posted and announced in the cafeteria and gymnasium. Event numbers will also be posted in the pool area. Swimmers are responsible for getting themselves to The Shark Tank on time. Spectator Seating: *Seating is available in the pool bleachers. * Please use this area ONLY when your child is swimming. * Swimmers will NOT be allowed in the spectator seating area. *NO coolers or coats are allowed in the spectator seating. Please keep these items in your camp area to allow more room for everyone to watch the competition. * NO FOOD OR GLASS in the pool area. Try to keep all food and drink in the cafeteria. Handicapped Seating: Handicapped seating will be made available in the pool area. Swimmers/Parent Information: *No shaving at the meet site. This is a health and safety issue. Swimmers shaving at the meet site will be disqualified from the meet. *ALL swimmers will be required to towel off before leaving the pool area in order to prevent slips and falls in the cafeteria. Be sure swimmers bring plenty of towels. *Swimmers will not be allowed to bring glass into the pool area; this includes ipads, ipods and most cellular telephones. *No running is allowed on the swimming pool deck. *Everyone is to stay off the ADA accessible stairs. *Everyone is to be quiet during starts and there is to be NO flash photography during starts.

4 *Any one not behaving is accordance to the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility will be asked to leave the meet. *If anyone is found in areas other than the cafeteria, gymnasium, pool, locker rooms, or rest rooms will be asked to leave the meet. Sectional T-shirts: Sectional t-shirts are available for pre-meet ordering and purchase only. Please use the order form. NO INDIVIDUAL ORDERS, team orders only. Shirts will be available to be picked by your team representative at 8:00 a.m. in the gym. Concessions: Concessions will be located in the cafeteria. There will be a variety of healthy breakfast and lunch items available to purchase. Bills over $20.00 will NOT be accepted. Meet programs will be available for $5.00. There is a possibility we will have Meet Mobile available also.
