1 PSG COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION Sports Performance of the Students during the year SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS As the sports Secretary of this College, I am privileged to stand before you to present the Annual report of our tech sports. As in the previous years our college sportsmen and women participated in various sports and games and won many laurels to our institution. Our college men and women won many Anna University Zonal & Inter Zone titles and brought glory to our institution.the following is a brief report of the achievements of our teams and the individual honors won by our students during this academic year. Athletics: Our college men team led by R.Dinesh Kumar of II ME Production clinched the Overall Championship in Anna University Zonal Athletic Meet. Dinesh Kumar.R bagged first place in 20km walk race. Ramesh.S bagged second place in 1500m, fourth place in Staff Day Minimarathon and Gold Medal in PSG Tech Minimarathon. Mahesh Kannan bagged first place in shot put. Arivazhagan bagged second place in half marathon. Mohan Dass.M bagged first place in 200m. SaravanaKumar.S bagged first place in 5000m, second place in 10000m and second place in PSG Tech Minimarathon. Seetharaman.N bagged first place in hammer throw. Kishore.R bagged second place in 110m Hurdles. Karthikeyan.N bagged second place in Discuss throw and third place in Shotput. Our team has also participated in

2 Anna University one zone cross country and South India level 21 st Karunya Evangeline Memorial Athletic Meet at Karunya University. Badminton: Our College men team led by G.Sarath of V BE SW Mech won the Anna University Zone - 9 tournament.the team also participated in Anna university Inter zone tournament and PSG Trophy. The team has secured third place in the 5 th CENTIES Championship. The team has conducted Intra College badminton during the third week of February Ball Badminton: Our college ball badminton men s team led by M.Nandha Kumar of IV BE Production Engineering has got Runners-up in ANNA UNIVERSITY ZONALS ( ) and also secured third place in YOUNG INDIAN CHAMPIONSHIP The team secured fourth place in "BRINDHAVAN MEMORIAL TROPHY ". The team also participated in the 5 th CENTIES Championship. Our team also successfully conducted the 4 th INTRA COLLEGE DOUBLES BALL BADMINTON TOURNAMENT. Basket ball: Our college men team led by Yugeash Kumar of III BE SW EEE have secured second place in the Anna University zonal tournament. S.M.Yugeash Kumar, G.DhanushAravind and K.Manikandan selected to represent Anna University Zonal team in the Inter-Zonal Tournament and played crucial role in securing third place.

3 Chess: Our college team led byranjith of IV BE CIVIL emerged as the winners in the Anna University Zone-9 Tournament and secured ninth place in the Anna University Inter Zonal Tournament. The team also emerged as winners at the 5 th CENTIES championship. Cricket: Our college team led by B.PremPrabhakar IV BE SW Mechanical emerged as winners in the Anna University Zone 9 tournament and secured third place in the Inter-Zonal tournament. JidhuVenkatraman of IV BE SW Mechanical and V.Vignesh of II ME Industrial Metallurgy represented Anna University in the All India Inter University Championship. They have also won the 5 th CDCA Inter Collegiate Tournament for G.R Prasad Trophy and B.Sakthivel of III BTech Textile was awarded as the Player of the tournament. Football: Our college men team led by L. Vishnu Vardhan IV BE SW Production emerged as winners in the 5 th CENTIES Championship. They secured Runners-up in the Decathlon 5's tournament. The team secured third position in the PSG CAS Tournament. L.VISHNU VARDHAN and V.DAYAALAN was selected to represent Coimbatore district team to play for Chief minister s Trophy.

4 Handball: Our college team led by S.MaheshKannan of IV BE Mechanical Engineeringemerged as winners in the Anna University Zone 9 tournament and Park Trophy. The team secured third place in the 5 th CENTIES Championship. Hockey: Our College team led byt.akilan of IV BE ICE emerged as the winners in the Anna University Zone-9 Tournament. Our team organized the 8 th Tech Hockey League for Major Dyanchand Memorial Trophy in a very good manner andattained fourth position. The team also participated in Karunya Trophy, Park Alumni Trophy and Anna University Inter-Zonal Tournament. Kho-Kho: Our college team led by N.Arivazhaganof IV BTech Fashion Technology emerged as winners in the Anna University Zone 9 tournament and in the 5 th CENTIES Championship. They have also bagged first place in Sasurie Trophy and fourth place in the open district level tournament " AmmanAdimaikho-kho premier league 2013 ". The team also participated in Anna university Inter zonal and 4 th KarumuttuThiagarajanChettiar memorial Inter-Engg tournament. SepakTakraw: Our college team led by D.Sankara Subramanian of IV BE Production successfully organized the Takraw 3 s-an Intra college tournament. With lot

5 of passion our takraw team has organized the9 th Inter-State level Tournament for PSG Tech Trophy in whichv.lakshminarayan of I BE EEE SW has been awarded as best center and P.Hari Prasad has been awarded as best emerging player. D.SankaraSubramanian,T.Pradeep Benedict of IV BE Production and V.Lakshminarayanan of I BE EEE SW represented the TamilNadu State team in the 2 nd South Zone Sepaktakraw Championship held at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Table Tennis: Our College team led by N. AkashNiruban of IV BE SW Production emerged as the winners in the Anna University Zone-9 Tournament and secured third place in the Anna University Inter Zonal Tournament. The team also emerged as winners at the 5 th CENTIES championship. The team has secured Runners-up in the Sastra Trophy. The team has organized Intra College tournament during the third week of February. Tennis: Our college team led byprithiv Krishna has secured third place in the Anna University zonal Tennis tournament. Volleyball: Our college team led by K.Saravana Kishore of IV BE Automobile Engineering emerged as winners in the Anna University Zone 9 tournament and got Runner-up in the5 th CENTIES Championship. Theyalso got fourthplace inthe Sri Krishna Trophy and Runner-up in SNR Trophy.The team also participated in Anna University Inter-Zonal tournamentthe team has conducted 5 th Intra College 3 s Volleyball tournament during the third week of February 2014.
