1 FFC OPERATIONS SCHEDULE ISSUE February 2015 This schedule will be issued as required to inform members on of upcoming events. A copy can also be found on the web site, FLMVPA.org The schedule is issued by Dick d-deren@tampabay.rr.com. Tel # Activities for the club to participate in should first go to the area coordinator for the region the activity is to occur in before they come here. This will put the coordinator in the loop and enable him to make decisions necessary to make the activity happen. Activities listed preceded with an FYI are informational only. For example, car shows where the club is not participating in as a group but may be of interest to members. Details of on going events are listed at the end of the schedule. Line up on 21st Avenue between Washington St. and Harrison St. prior to 12noon. Parade starts at 1pm. Meet at vacant lot across the street from the Marine Corps League Detachment 567, 7241 Baillie Drive, New Port Richey, FL. (at corner of Baillie and Rowan). Line up in the field at 1000hrs. We will convoy to our line up position at 1100hrs. There will be a tailgate party while we wait for the parade to start compliments of the Marine Corps League. We are in support of the Marine Corps League Veterans and will be transporting them in the parade. So, we can use as many vehicles as possible. 6 Dade Battlefield Historic State Park WORLD WAR II COMMEMORATIVE WEEKEND March 6th, 7th & 8th, 2015 Join the Dade Battlefield Society in honoring all those who served in the largest conflict in human history. On the site on an actual U. S. Army Signal Corps encampment, this popular event returns for its second year, and will have the following schedule: Friday, March : Registration/ Start Setting Up 1800: Rehearsal of Public Battle Saturday, March 7 & Sunday, March : Displays completed 0930: Safety and Weapons Inspection PLEASE NOTE: Mandatory rehearsal 1000: Event opens to the public for all battle participants will be at 1015: Raising of The Colors 0830 hours on Saturday, March 7th. 1300: Weapons Demonstrations 1400: Public WWII Reenactment Battle 1600: Closing Ceremony (1500 on Sunday) Reenactors and equipment exhibitors receive complimentary admission to the park. There is a $10 vendor fee and $5 table fee, if needed, for those selling items during the event. Participants are expected to remain through 1500 hours on Sunday. Food, drink, and 1940 s music are on the grounds all day. USO show and refreshments for participants on Saturday night. Staying overnight at the park is OK, with both dry camping and a limited number of sites with hookups available upon advance request. General Parade Rules for All Entries The following public safety regulations are set forth by the City of Tallahassee and the Tallahassee Police Department, and will be strictly enforced before, during and after the parade. 14 Tallahassee Parade Requirements (continued from page 14) A float is defined as a flatbed trailer towed by a motor vehicle, such as an automobile, truck, or tractor. The float must be at least 8 feet wide and 10 feet long. The maximum height is 14.6 feet from the street level, maximum length is 90 feet and maximum width is 15 feet. Springtime Tallahassee, Inc. does not assume or accept any responsibility for any damages (personal injury, property damage or otherwise) resulting from or relating to the Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade. In consideration of being permitted by Springtime Tallahassee, Inc. to participate in the Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade, I,, residing at, City of, State of, and being an authorized representative of, with the authority to enter into this agreement, (hereinafter called my organization) agree that my organization and our respective heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, and assigns will not make a claim against, sue, attach the property of, or otherwise prosecute andy claim, suit or matter against Springtime Tallahassee, Inc., its officers, directors, members, agents, employees, sponsors or volunteers for any injury, death, or property damage occurring to me or members of my organization as a result of or relating to the Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade, whether caused by the negligence of Springtime Tallahassee, Inc. or otherwise. In addition, I release and discharge Springtime Tallahassee, Inc., its officers, directors, members, agents, employees, sponsors and volunteers from all actions, claims, or demands that I and/or my organization s members, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, or assigns, now or in the future, may have for any negligence, injury, death, or property damage resulting from participation in the Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade. I further agree that my participation and my organization s participation in the Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade is not to be construed as an admission of liability or the assumption of any responsibility by Springtime Tallahassee, Inc. or its officers, directors, members, agents, employees, sponsors or volunteers for any of my or my organization s acts, omissions or conduct. I agree for myself, my organization and our respective heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, and assigns that if any claim for personal injury, death, or property damage is asserted against Springtime Tallahassee, Inc., or any of its officers, directors, members, agents, employees, sponsors or volunteers as a direct or indirect result of my or my organization s participation in the Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade, my organization and I will indemnify and hold harmless Springtime Tallahassee, Inc., its officers, directors, members, agents, employees, sponsors or volunteers from all such claims, causes of action, or damages, including attorneys fees, by whomever made and wherever presented. I understand and agree that this release covers all known, unknown, or unforeseen claims and the consequences thereof, notwithstanding the provisions of any law or ordinance to the contrary, and I specifically waive any rights accruing there under. Furthermore, I agree that the venue for any claim or matter relating to this agreement shall be Leon County, Florida. I have carefully read this release and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between me, my organization and Springtime Tallahassee, Inc. I am signing it of my own free will. I understand and agree that Springtime Tallahassee, Inc. reserves the exclusive right to accept or reject any parade entry s application and may make last minute adjustments in the placement of the entries in the parade lineup order. A parade entry that violates any applicable rule, regulation or directive will be disqualified and removed from the Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade with no recourse against Springtime Tallahassee, Inc., its officers, directors, members, agents, employees, sponsors or volunteers.
