2 Gain the expert training you need to become a semi-professional footballer, or the knowledge for a career in football management or coaching. You will gain coaching from UEFA qualified coaches and former professional football players, whilst earning an accredited sporting qualification and playing regular football matches against other teams in competitive leagues. Training will take place at our Borderville campus, home to Stamford AFC s Zeeco Stadium. You will gain top tips from guest speakers and have the chance to go on trips to real workplaces within the industry such as St George s Park and The King Power Stadium, the home of the 2016 Premier League Champions, Leicester City. Other trips and visits may include, English Institute of Sport, Olympic Stadium, Birmingham Futsal Arena and the opportunity for a residential Skiing Trip. You will take part in 6 hours training and game development time per week. THE COURSE HAS ALLOWED ME TO DEVELOP MY PHYSICAL SKILLS, AS WELL AS GAIN CONFIDENCE AND KNOWLEDGE IN FOOTBALL COACHING. I VE ALREADY COMPLETED A SPORTS LEADER AWARD WHILST STUDYING AT STAMFORD FOOTBALL ACADEMY AND HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO NOW PROGRESS TO UNIVERSITY. LIAM HARPER

3 NEW COLLEGE STAMFORD BORDERVILLE CAMPUS The Football Academy is based at New College Stamford campus Borderville - also home to Stamford AFC It has been designed specifically for sports development and training and boasts state-of-the-art facilities such as 3G floodlit artificial grass pitch, gym, FA rated pitch and 735sq metre multi-purpose sprung-floor sports hall. Borderville s sports hall is designed for multi-purpose use and can be transformed to host a multitude of sports, many to a national level. 6 LEVELS & PROGRESSION Develop your football skills and ability through practical learning and regular participation in competitive league matches with teams at your level. You will study at our Borderville Sports Complex, home to Stamford AFC s Zeeco Stadium where you will not only have the opportunity to gain a qualification whilst training for a career as a semiprofessional footballer, but also recieve your coaching from UEFA qualified coaches, football industry experts and former professional football players. Entry requirements 4 GCSEs at grades 3/D or above including English and maths, or a relevant Level 1 qualification and successful completion of a trial or Assessment Day. Progression Routes Following successful completion of your Level 2 qualification you can progress onto: Football Academy Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science (Coaching Science) or Sport Coaching Diplomas Level 3 Sport or PE Teaching Apprenticeship Gain the expert training to become a semi-professional footballer and the knowledge for a career in football management or coaching. Entry requirements Successful completion of a trial or Assessment Day and 5 GCSEs at grades 4/C or above including English and maths, or a Merit grade in Stamford Football Academy or Sport Diplomas Level 2. Progression Routes Following successful completion of your Level 3 qualification you can progress onto: HND in Sport & Exercise Science at University Centre Stamford Sport degrees at University Sport or PE Teaching Apprenticeship

7 THE PROGRAMME Gain Recognised Industry Qualifications BTEC Level 2 and 3 Level 1 Award in Coaching Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA) or Gym Instructor Qualifications in year two Football Development and Skills Weekly competitive and development matches as a part of the AOC fixture programme Coaching sessions by UEFA Qualified Coaches Football Development including Futsal and Skills Training Strength and Conditioning Sessions Beyond the Classroom Industry Visits Work Experience Tutorial Programme Guest Speakers English & Maths If you haven t achieved grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and maths you will be able to undertake these qualifications alongside your programme.
