1 Please find attached the fixtures for the Heavy Woollen Sunday League up to and including April 19, Clubs 1. The League Management Committee would like to thank all clubs for their continued flexibility in re-arranging fixtures at short notice because of field availability. 2. From the 1 st full week of April, 3 fields at Sands Lanes and 3 fields at Crawshaw St will be handed over to cricket. Clubs based at these two complexes may be asked to play their games at a neutral venue or another field within the same complex. Please check your venues carefully and ensure changes are advised to the referee and the away team. 3. These fixtures include the first evening fixtures which will continue through until late May. If the clubs and the appointed match referee can agree AND the allocated field is available, then games can be moved to a different night during the same week. The games must however be played by the following Sunday. For example a game scheduled to be played on Tuesday April 5 could be moved to Wednesday April 6. Please advise by to bhamilton@hwsl.co.uk by 6 p.m. on Sunday before the game is due to be played of any such changes. 4. Clubs are asked to acknowledge receipt of their fixtures by to bhamilton@hwsl.co.uk within 7 days of publication. Clubs who fail to acknowledge their fixtures will be deemed to have failed to have dealt with League business which incurs a fine. Any issues with fixtures should be sent to the same address. 5. Clubs are reminded that referees should be offered their match fee and expenses before the game commences. In the event of a game being postponed by a referee, then he is entitled to be paid half of his match fee and all of his expenses. In the event of the nonappearance of the appointed Referee or no Referee is appointed, the Clubs shall agree upon a Referee. A Referee thus agreed upon shall, for that game, have the full powers, status and authority of a registered Referee. The Management Committee shall have the power to impose a fine not exceeding 200 and/or take such action as they deem suitable against Clubs who refuse to agree upon a referee and causing a game not to be played. Referees 1. Referees are reminded that during the winter months, they can delay kick off up to 11 a.m. in order allow fields to become playable. Games which have not kicked off by 11 a.m. should be called off and the facts reported to the competition organisers. 2. Referees are also reminded that the duration of evening games can be amended from 90 minutes, however a minimum of 70 minutes must be played and each half must be of equal duration. 3. Referees are asked to acknowledge receipt of their appointments to Gary Scott, Referee Appointments Secretary. 4. If clubs or referees need to contact Gary concerning their appointments, they should use the telephone number in the League Handbook
