Code of Conduct THIS FORM MUST BE SIGNED BY COACHES & TURNED IN BEFORE THE COMPETITION SEASON/BEFORE YOUR TEAM (S) CAN PERFORM AT ANY CHEER USA EVENT. The Head Coach / Gym Owner May submit ONE Form for the entire Program. Once the Code of Conduct Form is on file it is good for the entire 2014-2015 Season In an effort to maintain a positive, safe, and professional competition, Cheer USA Championships has established a Code of Conduct for Coaches, Parents, & Athletes (Competitors). It is our belief that offering safe, positive experiences where good sportsmanship is maintained, we teach responsibility, and leadership skills needed to become successful adults. The following Code of Conduct will be upheld at each Cheer USA Championship. (Coaches) By signing you AGREE to adhere to the following guidelines list below: (please make Parents & Athletes aware of the Code of Conduct Form) NOTE: Cheer USA has witnessed un-sportsmanship behavior from the Coaches, Parents, and Athletes. Here at Cheer USA we understand that Cheerleading/Dance is becoming more & more competitive. But as a teacher, role model and performer you are still responsible for your actions. Cheer USA has decided to take action in an effort to preserve a positive atmosphere at our events: 1 st Unsportsmanship Behavior Witnessed Warning giving to the Coach/Head Coach of Team. 2 nd Unsportsmanship Behavior Witnessed 10 point penalty / or Disqualification. Rules a) I understand that there will be NO contact with the Judges from any participants, coaches, competitors, parent, or spectators during any Cheer USA Championships Event doing so could result is a penalty at the sole discretion of the judges. If a Coach has a question about his/her teams score sheet there will be a Competition Director that you will go to, then the CD (Competition Director) will direct you to the Head Judge, then and only then will you be allowed to approach a Judge. Cheer USA cannot guarantee that this process can go quickly because judges are judging and until there is time to address the Head Judge questions or concerns may have to be address at the end of the competition. b) I will read and follow all Cheer USA's safety and performance guidelines/rules. I acknowledge that violation of any could result in penalty point s deduction. c) I understand that August 31, 2014 is the NEW age for determining the participant age for Age Divisions and I will abide by the age/grade guidelines for competing divisions. I realize that at any time I may be asked to submit grade/age verification to Cheer USA competition officials, failure to do so could result in disqualification. d) I do realize that Cheer USA has no bearing on the rulings of the judges and that all of Cheer USA judges are experienced, knowledgeable, and competent. e) I realize that all complaints must be in writing and submitted at the registrations desk. ONLY Coaches can submit complaints or protests. There will be a ONE-TIME FEE of $75 at the time of the protest. If the protest is found to be in your favor, the Fee will be returned. f) I understand and that this is a competitive sport and Judge s decisions may vary from one Production Competition to another. I acknowledge that if I disagree with the Judges rulings I will present my concerns to the registration table for a consult. I will not approach the Event Coordinator/Director for answers. I understand that all concerns about rulings must be directed to the appropriate Event Representative. (Head Judge). Safety a) Athlete ID REQUIRED for 2014-15 at all USASF Sanctioned Events. b) I understand that Cheer USA Championships is a member of USASF. c) As the Coach of the cheerleaders/dancers I have read and understand all of Cheer USA safety guidelines and during competition I will not put the safety of my athletes (Cheerleaders/Dancers) at risk. I will put the interest and safety of my athletes above competitiveness. d) I understand that Cheer/Dance Competitions are very competitive and injuries can occur. I acknowledge I have been properly trained in basic technique, skill progression, and safety. e) If an injury arises I will have proper equipment available to assist my athletes. Cheer USA does not furnish tape for wrapping ankles, pre-existing injuries, etc. f) I understand that Cheer USA Championships follow USASF Rules/Guidelines and AACCA Rules/Guidelines. I clarify that I will read the different divisions that Cheer USA may offer. g) I confirm that I have been trained or have knowledge of basic technique, skill progression, and safety. I will also be sure that my athletes warm-up before every practice.
