Perch Point conservation club OCTOBER 2018 Hello Members! Fall is here, which brings another hunting season. Good luck to everyone and please be safe. We have 2 new heating and cooling roof units being installed in the next week along with all new rubber membrane for the rear roof on the main hall. This should not affect any events or open shooting. Sight-in days are scheduled for the weekends of October 27th and 28th and November 3rd and 4th. Saturdays 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. and Sundays noon till 3:00 p.m. Anyone looking to help out, see me at the meeting on October 11th. Winter Festival is coming up January 11th, 12th and 13th with lots of new events and entertainment. Archery has ended for the season. It will resume Tuesday, January 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the archery barn. Doors will open for practice at 6:30 p.m. We also have a children s Christmas party coming up. News and Upcoming Events Traps: Ken Johnson - Ken is going to continue to run all winter. Sporting Clays: Scott Thompson - Shooting Wednesdays Only 4:00-10:00. Through late October/November. Archery: Marvin Shankin - Only 4 showed up. Rifle/Pistol Range: Todd Almond - Need new plywood. Housekeeping: Renee - If you come in and mess the place up, you better clean it and leave it as you found it. Building & Site: Septic is all done. Waiting on wiring. We are getting a new roof in back with 2 new AC units. Kitchen Chairperson: Harry & Chuck - If we cannot get anyone to do the Fish Frys, we will have to cancel them. Conservation: Stan - They want input from the club on different things: Proposals: 1. They are talking about changing the size of the Walleye. 2. Limit on Lake Erie to longer but more fish, limit up to 7 instead of 6. ***January 1, 2019 there will be NO more BAITING in lower Michigan. Drag Bingo: October 13, Guys are welcome. $25.00 Dinner & Bingo. Kid s Christmas Party: Please register by November 18, 2018. All members children and grandchildren are welcome. We take anything baked goods, crafts, etc. We also collect food for a local pantry. Banquet 2019: February 2 - Tickets are now available. Winter Festival 2019: Jan 11, 12 & 13, 2019. Exotic Zoo will have an Eurasial Eagle/Owl - 31 tall with a 6 2 wingspan, a Baboon and Kangaroo. Horse Racing - you will be able to buy a horse for $20.00. Let Me Entertain You - Hypnotist, Ventriloquist & Comedian - $20.00 includes 2 Drinks. October 8 we are stuffing envelopes with tickets. Kids prizes will be upgraded. - We still need families to help run the games. Banquet 2019: February 2 - Tickets now available. Banquet meeting October 8 at 7pm. This January 12 LET US ENTERTAIN YOU. In the evening we will be selling admission tickets. $25.00 per person, includes 2 drink tickets, doors open at 6:30, and show starts at 8p.m. Bar and kitchen will be open for purchase. From 8 til 11. You will laugh, be amazed, and entertained to the hilt. We are having tickets printed nice and shiny and gifted so you can use them as Christmas Presents. More info to follow.. ELIMINATION RAFFLE HUGE SUCCESS Thanks to all the ticket sellers, the wonderful help setting up the night before and the members who stepped up that night and worked, or seen something needing to be done and did it. That is what spells success. We had $3400.00 winners (3 of them) $1,000.00 winners, $500.00 winners and all the way down to over 25 $100.00. Also, Pull Tab winners. We had excited faces, pouting faces, down right P---- faces. The success part came from all the wonderful smiling faces. Did we mention we were a sell out!!
