Junior & Golden Bear Golf Academy 2018-2019 Fall and Winter Schedule The Junior and Golden Bear Fall Golf Programs will begin Saturday, November 3, 2018, and conclude on Saturday, March 30, 2019. The class will meet in the Golf Academy, located in the Media Center of the Pavilion. These programs are open to all Muirfield Village Junior Golfers aged 4-11 for the Junior Bears and 12-14 for The Golden Bears. The cost for the Fall/Winter program is $400.00. Each junior may bring one guest to each clinic session for $35 per session. The focus of the Junior Golf Academy will be building a stronger golf game in a FUN, SAFE, and ATHLETIC environment! Core Values, Team Building, Fundamentals, Swing Mechanics, Health and Nutrition as well as new to the program Yoga for Kids will all be part of the curriculum for Winter Junior Golf Academy. Also, the program will provide each junior the opportunity to work one-on-one with an instructor. We strive to advance our junior golfer s skills through the use of video analysis and TPI Instruction. Long Term Athletic Development has and always will be the platform for our Junior Golf Academy! Where: The Indoor Golf Academy When: November 1 st March 31 st Wed. & Thurs. 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Closed for ladies clinics on Wed. 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) Tues. & Fri. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Closed for Junior clinics 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cost: Free to Members Scheduling: Call the Golf Shop (614) 889-6740 to book time slot What is a TrackMan Combine? A standardized test, enabling golfers to identify strengths and weaknesses as well as compare their performance to other peer groups. How Does it Work? The TrackMan Combine consists of 60 shots, each of which is scored on a scale of 0-100. Yardages used for testing are: 6 shots from 60 yards, 70, 80, 90, 100, 120, 140, 160 180 and Driver. There is no limit to amount of combines you take. What Does the Player Receive? A TrackMan Combine score for every yardage An aggregate TrackMan Combine score A percentile ranking for each yardage based on the selected peer group The average distance from pin at every yardage The average driver distance and accuracy
2018 Winter Member-Member Registration on ForeTees Format: Handicap: Four-Ball Match Play. In Four-Ball match play, two play their better ball against the better ball of the two players. All teams seeded by the combined handicap indexes according to the USGA guidelines as of November 1 st. Allowance: The Course Handicap of all four players is reduced by the Course Handicap of the player with the lowest handicap, who then plays from scratch. Each of the three other players is allowed 100 percent of the difference. Rules of Play: Handicap will be based on MVGC white tee, as of November 1 st index. TrackMan based rules apply. All rounds will be played on the simulator with TrackMan 4 from the selected courses white tees. Course and conditions will be selected by the tournament committee per round. Minimum of 6-Hole match. Match length must be predetermined by competitors prior to the round. Putting: Gimmes inside 4 feet. In the event of a tie a sudden death putt-off will happen immediately following the match. Each player will have an opportunity to hole a 15 foot putt. The team that holes out the most will be declared the winner. If the match is still tied after the first round of sudden death, another putt-off will ensue until a winner is determined. The matches for this season-long event are to begin starting on November 1 st and final day of play will end March 31 st. The team in the match s lower bracket is responsible for contacting the upper bracket team to set an agreed upon time and date that the match will be played. In the event that a match cannot be played by the deadline date, the match results in forfeiture and the higher seeded team moves onto the next round. Please play your match as early as possible since there will be no extensions. *Rule 9-3c.
